And, there are a few threads where you can talk about how Rory belongs with Jess.  The Rory/Jess thread: http://www.gilmoregirls.org/forum/index.php?topic=1262.0

Or, if you want to talk about how Rory belongs with Jess and share thoughts about why you think she doesn't belong with Logan, or Dean, there's the Rory's Boyfriend Discussion Thread: http://www.gilmoregirls.org/forum/index.php?topic=1798.0

Last time we saw Rory reading?  A Vineyard Valentine.  I thought that was a nice scene, Rory on the couch by herself reading a (I believe) Joan Didion book.  It was nice because two people don't have to spend every waking moment together, and Rory just looked so comfortable and natural, that I could imagine that along with partying or just being one of the gang with Colin and Finn, or making out, Rory spends time either at the Vineyard, or at the apartment, just reading.  Plus, the season finale had a reading reference.  Stalin's biography.  So, she's added new interests, but no she hasn't given up reading just because she's with Logan.

I like that too, those subtle references to show that she has not given up her love for reading.  I think one of my favorite scenes concerning her and books had to do with the tour she was giving the chilton student-where they were in the library and she was smelling books.  Logan called her on it...thinking it was funny.  It showed a cute chemistry between them as they were beginning to get to know one another.

I agree, it is healthy and cool to show them continue in some of their activities alone, yet in the same house/apartment.  They can enjoy one another's company without having to be side by side in every waking moment.

And, I think her whole Queen of the Sloths thing when she left Yale didn't have much to do with Logan in particular.  Mitchun had just told her she couldn't be a journalist, so she decided to leave school.  Then, instead of telling her she was right, Lorelai got upset with her decision, and said she wasn't going to let her just laze around home and act like she was in high school.  So, I think Rory went on overkill to prove that she had made the right decision.  It was like, "I'll show you, Mom.  You think it'll be a big mistake for me to take time off?  Well, I'm having the time of my life!  I'm not missing my old lifestyle at al!"  And, Logan was an easy vessel for her rebellion.  I don't mean she used Logan or didn't like him for himself, but she was acting out and Logan's natural lifestyle just helped that.  But, I don't she was doing it because of Logan.

And, I think Logan didn't make a big deal out of it, because to him it wasn't a big deal.  I mean, he took time off from school and he came back, so he didn't have the same "if you leave you won't come back" philosophy that Lorelai had.  Plus, Logan knew exactly how much Rory liked school (the tour she gave the Chilton student) and he even mentioned that she would be back.  So, if he came back, then someone like Rory would come back and there was no need to force it.

But, once Rory realized that she was acting out, she went back to Yale and started acting more like she had been.  She still enjoys hanging out with Logan and his friends (there's no saying she couldn't find out that she did like some of that) but she also does her thing.

I think the relationship is on more solid ground.  At first she tried to be casual girl, because that's what she thought he wanted.  Then, she asserted herself and said she couldn't change that she was a girlfriend girl.  And Logan decided okay, because he wanted to be with her.  Then Rory decided she was going to be a party girl because she was upset.  Now, Rory is just being Rory, with a few added interests.  And, Logan is making his push towards growing up.  And, hopefully, he'll find his path and still hang out with Colin and Finn, only not exactly the same, and he'll still be Logan with some added interests.  But, they're not pretending for each other.

I'm pretty sure he first showed up in the season 5 ep Written in the Stars, when Rory gets mad at him for being rude to her waiter buddy Marty.
He then shows up again 2 episodes later in Norman Mailer, I'm Pregnant! when Rory uncovers the secret Yale society, the next episode was You Jump, I Jump, Jack, after that he was pretty much a regular.

If you click on the link below, it should take you to the transcript of "Written in the Stars", the eppy when Rory and Logan meet for the first time. There is a short scene toward the beginning, then a little over halfway thru is their first REAL interaction. It was a great scene. Smiley

I know they first met outside by the coffee stand & Rory was with Marty. The next interaction I remember after that was when Rory was putting up fliers for Asher's wake, although there might have been a couple in between those..

Hey, welcome.  Rory can't go to London.  She has her last year at Yale to get through.  And, I'm hoping Logan doesn't get off the plane.  I'm not really one for the epic Gone With the Wind, An Affair to Remember movie type, or sitcom, person stands in the rain after saying goodbye, turns around and their true love is standing there with the luggage on the ground because they can't bear to leave.  I mean, it's fine for the end of a movie.  Or, if it was a matter of someone having some big time job that makes a lot of money far away, but chooses to stay at home at a job that maybe isn't as prestigious, but is actual work, because they want to stay with someone.  If Logan had some prospect for work in Conneticut, but then was offered another job in London and he and Rory felt that it would be a good thing for him to go, but he got off the plane then, I'd be fine.  Because he would still be doing something responsible.  To me, Rory told him to go because she cares about him.  And, he left because he cares enough about her to want to be the best man he can be for her.  And, after they had the whole scene where he wouldn't let her come to the airport, because he didn't want anything to stop him from getting on the plane, I think it would be a cop out if he didn't go.

I'm sure there will be episodes that Logan isn't even in.  And, those episodes can concentrate on Rory at school or Rory with her family.  And, there will be those episodes where she does go to visit him.  It's possible that he'll come back early, but I hope it's because he actually has a plan, that he has figured something else out.  And, I hope it's not right away.

I like Logan and Rory, but (and this is just my opinion) it wouldn't bother me if they were separated for a little while.  I mean, separated physically, not emotionally.  I enjoy the relationship, but it's only a small part of the show.  I just care that when they are together, they continue to grow and be the people I saw from the episode where Logan was in the hospital to the season finale.  And, Logan is signed on for at least half the episodes (hope that isn't a spoiler, I'm confused on the policy there) so he'll be there a lot.  At least as much as he's always been.

I don't like Logan, they don't have that chemistry together!! I agree with the one that said that romantic lines are not good... However, I think that Logan is economically stabilized and Rory is benfit by that, maybe without being aware jajaja. But! common that apartment for free!! I'd love him too!! jajajajaja
Maybe she should start haning around with Jess again, and don't tell Logan about it. After all!, Logan did that to her didn't he?
