indeed australisa post really slows down when it is christmas time, i don't like that at all. Ahh it's good to have gilmore girls on over the summer, it makes all the other bad tv worth it, for the saturday evening that is is on. I dispise all the christmas movies that they are puting on tv now, i hate all this christmas festivity, bahh humbug.

i agree australia post does generally slow down over the xmas period but i was completely amazed when it took just 3 days for them to deliver my new ipod!!! and im in the country so that generally takes longer!! but international post is much slower...

Im very happy to see GGon xmas eve!! i thought for sure they would put some stupid xmas show on instead! i do love the christmas spirit but i love my gilmore girls even more!!

I saw the TV week mag in the store today and wanted to buy it because there is a GG poster in it, but my sister gave me a stupid and look and said "how old are you?!?" i didnt buy it because i think TV week mags are kinda pointless. but lets get one thing straight sis...you can never be too old for gilmore girls!!! IT'S ARRIVED!!!   WooHoo!!!!!

Gilmore Girls series 5 finally arrived yesterday.  Jules (daughter's nickname, short for Juliette) and I watched the first 3 episodes last night.  Mum wasn't around, so I'm sure she's going to be annoyed when she finds out. Smiley

My mother gets the TV Week every week, and has done so for about 30 years, at least.  She gave Jules the poster yesterday.  Not sure what she's going to do with it as their is no room on her walls for any other posters.  Interestingly for a 10 year old, there are no posters of boy bands or the modern "soul", "R'n'B" artists, she hates them. Instead she has posters of Einstein, the 10 Planets and an aerial view of the Tidbinbilla Tracking Station (NASA's deep space Tracking station located about 15-20 minutes outside of Canberra).  Weird little girl, but I love her anyway.

Aww, your little girl is the coolest!! Heaps cool that she is an individual and is taken by the ways of music killers and hot bodies (but the hot body part will arrive when she is a teenager - maybe start finding some hot scientists  Wink). Don't tell me what happens in season five  - BTW very happy for you on getting those DVD's.

Oh yes, it is an inspiring show - that episode was on just a few days ago...good times. Loving the free to air thing, mainly because I don't have cable.

I'm going on holiday for two weeks tommorow, yay! See everyone soon.

Not only the coolest, but one of the smartest.  She grew up in a household where both English and French were spoken often, and was able differeniate between the two (not sure if that is common or not) and by the time she started school, could also read and write (at a reasonable standard) in both.  She also doing extra-cirricular work in Mathematics and Science.  As for being an individual, I'm not sure that is entirely true, her favourite artists are the same ones her parents loved when they were growing up.  Poor kid grew up listening to Blondie, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Kate Bush, The Go-Go's, The Clouds, The Falling Joys, Curve and Bananarama Embarrassed  Grin

You need to go back to school.  Learn to spell.  That kind of garbage is even more annoying than SMS speak you get on most boards.

By the By, it's Season 1.

Ok I'm back everyone, and a bit dissapointed that I found this thread on page 4. But anyway...

GG has been great, loving the double eps.
Did anyone notice the aussie accent of that guy who was looking for some girls room in Rory's new dorm (logans friend), well he sounded pretty aussie to me.

Neccesities for a childs education. Where are The Bangles?
Yes the bi-lingual thing is quite normal for a child who grew up with two languages spoken at home, remember they are like little sponges.

Could never get into the Bangles, they were a little "poppy" for me, but without the melodies and harmonies that made Bananarama easy to listen to.

As for the Aussie guy, I must admit I didn't really notice, it didn't sound very Aussie to me.  He sounded like a pompous, arrogant rich twerp.   Unlike the "Aussie" characters on LOST that all sound South African. Smiley
