I don't know if they truly could have been platonic friends, but i never found any romantic chemistry between them, just me perhaps. However, they did have good personal banter between them, the kind that in theory might have resulted in a platonic relationship.

With their common backgrounds they might have found things to talk about. Or, perhaps Lorelai could have told Jason about her attraction towards Chris and "Duke" and how she felt for them in a way she would never feel for Jason. 

That's cruel!!! It's like you meeting Lorelai (or Lauren) and she goes on and on about her newest boyfriend and how she longs for him etc... You'll have to listen and you'll be dying inside!

I meant it as a joke, but Lorelai has been cruel to her boyfriends. The way she treated Max after they got engaged was terrible. Jason got off easy by comparison.

Okay here is what I think about Lorelia's Boyfriends! Let's start with Max, No because he was Rory's teather and too well how do I but this, Smart!!!!!!!!I mean not that she's dumb but he's REALLY smart + I think he's not cute enough for her! Alex just don't like the guy in generl! So no! Jason no because he was REALLY weird with the whole you have to sleep in guest room thing and without being a little scruffy on his chin he is UGLY!O anbd one more thing he WAS going to sue lorelia's family! ABOULUTLY NOT!!!! Chis is okay but he is NEVER relible the real reson I like him is cuz' he is Rory's father and it would be nice to have no step dad for rory + he is pretty cute! Well I agree with most fans that Luke is the one for Lorelia!He is Funny,relible,hosent LOVES HER SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH,would do anything for he, and is REALLY hot!! LUKE AND LORELIA 4EVER!!!

Just thinking, it seems Lorelai can never keep it straight with a guy friend who's just platonic, either. I mean, even Luke, her ears perked up every time he took a bath. To be honest, I needed to have it spelled out for me before I realized that Michel wasn't Platonic in the literal sense! After that, I wondered why they hadn't hooked up, right up until "Lorelai's First Cotillion." I guess Michel wouldn't go out with girls who dance only for fun.

I agree!!!! I was like that too, I couldn't be friends with a guy without feeling like I 'should' grow deeper feelings for them. I just couldn't be platonic friends with a guy... Luckily that changed

Well, I think that Lorelai should be with Luke... they're so sweet together, and even whan Lorelai and Christopher were together, she had feelings for Luke...

and an IMPORTANT question: Lorelai & Luke got married eventually? (because here the season still didn't end!)
