Firstly, although I know it was a while ago, I hope Vanessa and her mom are completely over the car crash...
I gotta say I LIKE April. She introduced a spin into the L/L relationship that ultimately forced Luke to take a long hard look in the mirror... something he was incapable of doing until Hay Bale Maze.
I'm also prejudiced by the fact that she's almost a dead ringer for my own daughter, both looks and "brainiac-wise"...

I think April has gotten a bum rap. Some people seem to dislike her for being a brainiac type of girl, but i never saw anything annoying or obnoxious about her. Compared to some of the Chilton Brats earlier in the series, she was a pleasure.
I agree with Mike's comment that her existence forced Luke to take a look in the mirror. i think his relationship with April softened his edge. He had a soft spot for April similar to his soft spot to Rory. He was always there for Rory and he was always there for April. The custody battle in season 7 showed how strong his bond was with her. The feeling was mutual and it truly was in her best interest that he won that battle for visitation rights.
Unfortunately, i think the creation of April in season 6 had one over-riding purpose: to drive a wedge between Luke & Lorelai. As good as Luke was in dealing with April, he neglected Lorelai by compartmentalizing the two of them. I would have preferred if April's existence had brought them closer together where they had dealt with it as a team.

I love positive feedback about April! A lot of people dont lke her character becuase "she broke up Lorelai and Luke" But it's not her fault! She is a really great character! |

I thought I saw either Vanessa or her sister on that new Kelsey Grammer TV on Fox in a commercial last night when I was watching Bones. Did anyone see her on it tonight? I was too busy watching Pushing Daisies and then Ghost Hunters to see if it was her or not.

April has become one of my favorite characters, I kinda wish that Luke treated Lorelai better when he was busy with her though...I loved Aprils birthday scene!

I think that April is cute and sweet. I just dont see why Luke was the way he was, if he really did love Lorelai (which i believe he did) I dont see why he didnt want her to be apart of getting to know APril.
