Karma is a system where users can give you positive or negative points. For example, if you post an insightful or helpful post, someone may choose to increase your karma. If your posts aren't so helpful, hard to read, or rude and unnecessary, they may decrease it.

Thanks for asking and answering the Karma question.  I was wondering that, too. But, now that I know what Karma is.....how do I give someone Karma?

Also, I know what a pretty stick is from the show, but, what does it mean on the board and/or where is it described.  I didn't see it in the help.  Huh

Wait...I get it now  Cheesy  To give someone Karma, you hit them with a pretty stick!  To subtract, you click on the snarktastic icon!  Sorry, I am a bit slow....but, I hunted around and couldn't find it explained anywhere.

I clicked on the icon to see if if would give a description....then I noticed the Karma points changing when I clicked the snark thing.

Sorry, Summer.  Embarrassed   I didn't know what I was doing when I 'snark'ed you.   Lips Sealed  I tried to restore your Karma by hitting you with a pretty stick.  Wink   I am very new here.  Grin

(edited to remove my initial double post - I combined question and answer into one post)

Just be your self and let it be what it will Wink

How do I get people to look more at my posts?
Make posts about something people find interesting and let the title reflect what the contains is.
Or just make a wierd title that draws atention without any meening, but then we won't like you and you get bad karma Roll Eyes

I think it might be wise if we could make everybody (especially people new to the forum) understand what the karma thing is all about, cause I've been PM-ed a couple of times about it. That I don't mind, cause I don't mind helping people. And to all the newbies: WELCOME ON BOARD! But it's not so great when you are being snarkastic-ed for no reason. The last couple of days I myself have been snarkastic-ed 3 times as far as I know. Weird thing, I hardly posted anything...so what's there to snarkastic? Or are people snarkasting just to snark someone? Cause if I've pissed someone of I'd like to know why/who. Cause this way it kinda feels like a hid-and-run. I only posted a PLT,FSC, helped some people out and did some spoilers and somehow that pissed someone of. Luckely I don't give that much about the karma thing, but still it's kinda weird and a little hurtfull when you're being snarked and you have no idea why.  Cry

So maybe the karma thread should be one of the first things new people to the board get to read after the forumrules.

Honor is something you loos by your own actions, not by others. If you are nice and don't attack people that don't deserve it (based on your actions on this board you are and you don't) even a kama score of minus 154 is a score you can be proud of.
But yes, we could have a Read this first thingy on the first page Smiley

Click the [pretty stick] link under their name. In addition, to deduct karma, click [snarkastic].
