Miss Celine--for real, or just crazy?

I loved Miss Celine. But she drove me craaaazy.

 "I had that shirt on Jimmy Stewart the night of his colonoscopy, and he came through clean as a whistle!"

But of course, she calls Lorelai "Natalie Wood" and Rory "Look! It's Audrey Hepburn! It's Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina!".

So what bothers me is-- when she mentions celebrities, is she talking about the real people, or just people she's dubbed that? After all, if Lorelai is Natalie Wood, it's quite likely that someone else in Hartford could be Jimmy Stewart.

What do you think? This has been bugging me for years.

I think, since Emily is filthy rich, that it was based off the real celebrities.
At least, I've always wanted to think that.
Because I totally can see Rory and Audrey Hepburn's similarites.

For sure. And didn't Edward Hermann even say at one point that he thought Alexis was the modern-day Audrey? I think so.

hmmm....i never really thought about that.....i guess it could be either way. however i do think that she would be talkin about the real celebrities. i mean, come on, if Emily Gilmore will make Lorelai rive to 3 different drug stores bacause she wont accept generic, why would she hire a crazy girl who thinks everyone is a celebrity over someone..more sane
