Yeah. Logan had many Jerky moments, so did Dean, and Jess. Jess wasn't really a jerk to Rory.

I could get started on this  But I'll just say that in my opinion, Rory's boyfriends were all less or more equally jerky. But that's just me.

I agree, every boyfriend had their jerky moments. They could be amazing one second and then the next not so amazing. Jess didn't treat Rory all that great...but that can be said for all of them. He was a jerk to Rory, I guess it was post-"Swan Song" he started acted like that.

Yes, I guess you're right... See, I really liked Jess better than Dean when he came into the series, because he was such a cutie and he was a lot more interesting than Dean, but I didn't like the way he was always so stubborn and annoying around Luke who did so much for him. That's why I like Logan better. Although the Jess now (the one Rory met after he published his book) would be perfect for her!!!!

I loved the Literati story line and think Jess & Rory made an exciting couple, but i do not for a second think Jess was a good boyfriend to Rory in season 3. For me, there is a difference between finding a couple interesting to follow, as compared to actually liking a particular character. As Mira pointed out, Jess was an interesting character and he was fresh and exciting for Rory. But Jess was in many ways a rotten person during seasons 2 & 3. He was written to be that way.

I also think that many Literati fans are in fact Milo fans more than anything else. I wonder, what if Milo had played the role of Logan instead of Jess? I think many of the current Literati fans would be Headliner fans instead! In other words, it's more about the actor than the actual role.

You know, I don't think I would. You make an excellent point, but I can see Matt as a Jess kind of bad boy (well, maybe not the whole blond thing  ) and I also like their personalities together. But...ya know...I don't know. Maybe. Uh, this is hard.....very nice point...prettystick....*thinking about Matt as Jess*

lol - That Imy Gal is so flexible in her support, isn't she? That's what she thinks she'd like to think! I think she would be a devoted lover of any character portrayed by Milo. If Milo was Logan, i'm thinking Imy would be a Headliner. That's what i think she would think! But maybe i shouldn't think anymore, i think it's making me dizzy.

First of all what a great thread idea.  I could place myself in this boat consider the final maturity of each characters.  It has been stated before, but I liked Jess for his intrigue and Logan for his personality.  They both had their immature selfish moments, yet were both very helpful in Rory's development.

Hey Jay!  As always such brilliant thoughts - PS TOO!  I could never see Milo playing the part of Logan or Matt playing the part of Jess - though he could make it work more than the other.  As anyone w/ any small experience in acting, the look is a lot of the character.  Personally, I am not at all attracted to Milo, but I do enjoy his acting - he's incredible!  I would be lying if I didn't admit I don't mind Matt's pretty boy looks and fun hair.  I think their looks are really a huge part of their character and thus that's why they were originally cast. 

I think the biggest debate in my head is who would fit with Rory best based on the last time we saw Jess and Logan?  Consider how they've matured and where they are heading? Would Jess as a  small novelist barely making ends meet satisfy her after enjoying Logan's pampering?  Yet, by the end of the show Logan had lost a ton of money and wasn't really living off Daddy Warbucks anymore.  Hmmm... I'd have to think about that.  What do you all think?

Melissa- I think Jess. Logan was about to go to a place where Rory could get a good job. But, she would be closer to her family and friends if she was with Jess, and Jess wrote a book. She loves reading, and I just think they would be better.

This is a great question because the past is past and who if anyone is in Rory’s future ? I personally think she is due to meet someone new. But between Jess and Logan, without regard for which couple I prefer, I think Logan would fit best with Rory, based on the last time we saw the characters. Just consider the last time we saw Jess. Yep, he was in the best condition we ever saw him. But that only means he was doing fine for himself. Rory knows culture but I don’t see her living in that artsy bohemian environment. By the time the series ended she had too much Yale/Hartford instilled inside her. She spent part of season 6 living in E & R's pool house! Plus, that final Philly encounter was a sour one from Jess’ point of view. Also, let’s face it, Rory’s relationship with Logan was much longer and more intimate, which would seem to give it more hope for the future. Like it or not, Jess and Rory were together for part of one season. Rory and Logan were together for most of seasons 5 through 7. They lived together and had the time to development a much deeper relationship. When Rory turned down Logan’s marriage proposal she said that she liked the idea of being married to him. She was even willing to try a long-distance relationship. Plus, Logan’s finances were not really in the dumpster. He was moving to what sounded like a swanky house in California, so they would be living very well. As far as being far from Lorelai and Star’s Hollow, Rory might be traveling around the country quite a bit as a reporter, so I don’t think she would be holed-up in California with her avocado tree. She would probably have opportunities to swing by S.H. Besides, when she turned down Logan's proposal, living in California sounded like a plus in her mind and she didn't even mention the distance from Lorelai as an issue. It seems like it should matter but it did not prevent her from taking the reporting job for the Presidential campaign.
