Rachael was not just one of Luke's girl friends. Yes, Luke has been pining for Lorelai since he was little. Luke didn't really like his father. He used to love Star Wars.

Luke did date Racheal for years...even after he met Lorelai and she came back again. Startrek...starwars...sorry but to me they are all the same. And the things we heard about his dad...the man was a hand full, but he loved him.

Doesn't it just make you want to crawl into bed and snuggle up next to him?  Yeah, I realize his smile is a little silly, but it's because Lorelai just said "kids would be good".

He was one of the jocks in high school (What was it they called him? Butch Danes?), but he hated it. Um, as for anything else, heh, in the same boat as you guys.
