What a great episode.   I thought it was a great way to end to a great series.   I cried my eyes out as well.    When Rory was speaking to Lorelai at the end.   When she was at the dinner table for the last time talking about her new job.    The last interaction with Rory and her grandparents.   All were a great send-off.    I will miss this show so much and was very disappointed when there was no shortened season, but I have to admit, I feel this was a great way to end this amazing show

How will she survive the cut throat business of politics if she could not handle Huntsburger saying "You don't got it..."  Hm... oh well. I guess she will sink or swim.
My brother's girlfriend (Lani) and I were talking about this today.  Lani is a journalist at a reputable newspaper and she feels that Rory hasn't developed the kind of thick skin she needs to succeed in the world of journalism.  Which I happen to also think.  I wonder how this career will go for our fictional character.

wow...i am having trouble believing its over. i guess its weird to think that my Tuesdays from 8-9 aren't already booked. Anyways i don't look at the show as seriously as a lot of you but i found the episode to be very good. it was a nice way to end it. I loved the party i thought it was so cute, i loved when lor. told sookie she wasn't surprised by Luke's actions, i loved the scene of him sewing everything together. When he said he just likes to see lor happy i almost died, and i loved that we didn't see him give her the necklace but that she was wearing it. I think the ending allows people a little creativity with the ending. overall im really happy with it...don't stress guys its just a tv show. live it and love it

I definitely cried during the episode. And some after. But I changed the channel immediately to the ACM awards, though I'm still thinking mostly about Gilmore Girls. But I think I'm in disbelief that it's over. Forever. Plus, I think I'm becoming a slightly more rational person...and I know it's TV and it has to end, and I have a life and I'm leaving in 4 days to spend a month and a half in Greece and Italy with my best friend. As much as I love Gilmore Girls, there are bigger things. That's what I have to keep reminding myself...

So anyway. Loved the episode. Loved the moments with Lorelai and Rory...even though they didn't always say that much in their emotional moments, I don't think much needed to be said. Those one liners and the tears and expressions said it all, beautifully.

My only two complaints...

My stupid local CW station doesn't know how to run a station and the audio and video don't match up here. There's like a 2 second delay of the video. And the audio is really foggy. It's oh-so-annoying.

I wanted to see more of the kiss and less of the town people in the distance. It was dark and we couldn't see them anyway, why not atleast keep Luke and Lorelai in the foreground and like have the town gawking at them while they kiss or something? It's classic Stars Hollow.

But overall, great show, and though I'd love more, I know that it has to end and whatnot, so I'm just gonna try to let it go. I'll buy season 7 when it's out on DVD, and have marathons whenever I want. And I will see any movie Lauren Graham is ever in.

THANK YOU GILMORE GIRLS FOR AN AMAZING SEVEN YEARS. YOU ARE GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER TV SHOW. THIS WAS SMART, FUNNY, WELL ROUNDED PROGRAMMING THAT CAN NEVER BE MATCHED. I HAVE GOTTEN SO MUCH FROM THIS SHOW ON MANY LEVELS, AND I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THAT. I LOVE MY GIRLS.

And oh -- the reason I even started watching this show....sooo many years ago...was because my friend told me that I reminded her of a character on this show she watched.  Rory Gilmore, on Gilmore Girls.  I even remember where we were.  We were standing in line for lunch, and it was my sophomore year of high school.  It was during season 3.  I watched it that Tuesday and never looked back.  Maybe it explains my lack of empathy toward Rory's love life (it was the dance-off episode with the whole Dean-Jess fiasco), and my total OBSESSION with Luke and Lorelei ("I need you to fix my shoe. / Do I look like a cobbler? / If I say yes, will you fix my shoe?")  Later I would get every single season on DVD and watch them repeatedly, as well as faithfully coming to the TV every Tuesday evening.  I never knew exactly why my friend thought I was like Rory (Alexis Bledel is GORGEOUS and I only wish I could have her hair -- although I am pale as a ghost!).  But now as a sophomore in college, a journalism major, I know that Gilmore Girls WILL live on forever because goddamit....

I am now determined to BECOME Rory Gilmore.   Smiley

Except, I'll pass Logan over some of his more adoring fans and take Scott Patterson in a flannel shirt and backwards baseball cap any day of the week.   Wink

I will miss this show. I enjoy watching the reruns but it was so wonderful to see what was going to happen next in crazy Stars Hollow and with our Gilmore Girls. I started really getting into the show after my own mother pass away quickly. I was extremely depressed and believe it or not watching this show was the only thing that made me feel better. It's like everyone else said. ASP's writing was so good and Stars Hollow was where I escaped to and almost wished I lived. Thank you for that GGs. I will have to start with watching season one every Tuesday as some sort of replacement. It's sometimes the smallest strangest unexpected things that help you through tough times. I can see that this show has done that for a lot of us that post here. Good to know I'm not the only one.

LOGAN: Move in with me. Paris' place is a hole anyway, I never liked that you lived there. And that doo-wop group downstairs? I don't think they were an honest-to-goodness singing group.
RORY: Logan, that's really sweet. But I can't move in

Lovely. Sad. Wonderful.

I wish it didn't have to be, but this was a beautiful parting gift.

What I am most thankful for is that we had a few incredible episodes after the heartless, "Lost Season of Christopher."
As hard is it is to let go, it's not hard to imagine that it COULD have ended with more banal Chris cr*p!  Kudos to
whomever got their act together and let us say goodbye in style.

And this, finally.  Lauren is one remarkable actress.  I wish her well.

I'm a guy and I have been a die hard Gilmore fan for the past 5 years.  My friends think I'm nuts because its a chick show.  But I gotta tell you, Gilmores is the best show I've ever watched.  It hooked me like no other show ever has.  I cant believe how sad I am that it has ended.  I feel like you feel when a really close friend moves away.  But I think that tonights show was a nice way to end things.  Granted, none of us got the closure we desperately wanted, but I think that was probably in keeping with the quirkiness of the show.  And did anyone notice that the show ended in the same place it began?  In Lukes.  Best show of all time.  I feel blessed that it has been a part of my life.

To all of you who lost there power, i was so scared that would happen to me that would of made me cry forever.
not that bad...could of been better.  Really sad to see the Gilmore's go.
Moments that got me tear-e eyed
Lorelai watching Rory while she sleeped
Watching Luke sew all the tarps/ tents together
The Kiss (luke saying I just wanted you to be happy)
And the ending thing saying Good-buy.
moments that made me laugh
the Rory Lane talk about jacks and boobs
when Rory and Lorelai were walking and you see the town behind them then turn around becuase they saw them
the over-throw of Taylor...about time
durring the Luke Lorelai kiss watching the town watch them
My life has been compleatly altered  i grew up with this show (i started watching it when i was Cool
I'm not sure but im convinced that thoes were not the last 2 lines in ASP mind you coulden't really hear them (might of been the tears though)

That's it?! They leave the show on THAT note?!  Wall  Where was that looonng kiss between Lorelai and Luke MA snickered about? All I saw was like 5 seconds worth and that was it! Nothing else. I liked how Luke said he just wanted her to be happy and the kiss was nice but that's all that happened between them? No wonder Scott said what he did. We didn't even see Luke giving Lorelai the necklace or anything officially stating they were back together just hints here and there. So disappointing!  Cry

It was sort of boring too. Where did all the good references go because I hardly saw any in there? Huh

What made me laugh was Sookie.  Wink Boy her reaction to Luke asking her to help him with the party and everything definately lightened up the episode and gave me laugh. I also cracked up when Lorelai and Rory were talking in the part and all the town people came buy with the party stuff in the background and they scuttled off without being noticed. I found that hysterical especially when Lorelai looked there just before she left. Cheesy

I'm just glad Luke understood how devistated Lorelai must've felt so he organized the party to help cheer he up! I liked how he stood up against Taylor and took charge of this town event! Hit Taylor in the pride... good move! Wink  I also liked how both he and Lorelai said the same things about just being friends to Rory/Liz even though both of them didn't feel that way and the others could tell. That showed to me how insync Lorelai and Luke's thinking can be.

I loved Rory's talk with Lane... it was about time those two really sat down and had a talk.

I liked that almost all the townies were there with the exception of the troubadour (got sucked into a black hole, huh?) and I loved Babette in this! I also liked Miss Patty's "Muse" excuse. Yay more lines for Lulu! It was so great to see her standing out from the crowd a little bit. I liked how Kirk made the sash and was so proud of it even though he made it out of his mother's underwear.

I loved what Richard had to say to Lorelai at the party... it was straight from the heart. The only thing that could've made it better was if he and Lorelai hugged. But no. Of course I was hoping that would happen in Season 8  Undecided

Taylor using birth as a metephore was very disturbing  Trash  Tongue

I liked how Lorelai admitted she was doing all the busy stuff because it was too soon and if she stopped she would've been thinking about it and would've fallen apart. It showed Lorelai is more aware of her feelings than before but still not enough.

I just wish there was more to this episode. Especially between Lorelai and Luke there was no indication that anything changed between them in terms of working things out with each other. I also feel like Rory going around reporting about politics doesn't suit her and she'll find herself in trouble with this. Maybe she'll move onto another field? I was hoping to see that in Season 8 too.  Cry

I was hoping they would do what they did with the ending so I'm happy about that. I always thought that should be the final scene if this was to be the last season.

For the most part it was good for a final episode but it could've been so much better and this just didn't seem like a series finale worthy of this show. It didn't feel right.
