I don't think Asher had much of a character, except old goat. But, I thought the whole storyline with Paris was a waste of time.

I did too. I was watching a couple of the episodes with him in it, and I just honestly don't like him. To me (and this is my opinion), he's an old pervert... going after those young girls year after year.

Ugh. It's not so much the age (depending on the circumstances, age is only one factor in a relationship) but the fact that these were young women he was teaching and he made a habit of it. And, wasn't he married? Just made him seem like an old lecherous geezer.

i think it was out of character for paris to cheat on jamie and date a old guy. she always had such strong opinions and critized every1 about things and scandals that i couldnt believe she would do this.

i dont think the story line needed him at all...obviously Paris needed to break up with Jamie...but really! i dont think that Paris...who thinks things through so logically would date a man who is that old, even if he was brilliant. to me he seemed a little bit conceited..and apparently a "player" because he always had a younger girlfriend each year. he never fit the story line and i think he was a total waste of air time!

He was very important for Paris development, I think she behaved more grown-up and it was a test of the friendship between her and Rory
