i miss Luke and Lorelai!! At the moment the couple we know and love is slowly slipping away! We have waited so long for Luke and Lorelai to get engaged, and now that they are, well it doesn't seem that way.

I echo most of what you guys have already said.
The 2 things I miss the most are Rory/Lorelai's funny moments together. It seems like those are few & far between now.
& also I really miss Jess. I think he added so much to the show & I really wish they would bring him back for good!

What were the lowest parts of GG? Was it Jess and Rory breaking up or Rory and Jess together?  What were the best parts of GG?  Luke and Lorelai getting together or Rory graduating.  Now's the time to tell all when you think GG was simply amazing and when it just was messed up....

I think this season has been horrible... Tonite's episode was better, but it was still nowhere near as good as those episodes from a few seasons back, before GG became hugely popular. I just wish ASP would quit trying to put twists and turns into every single episode... It's too much and everything loses its effect. What does everybody think?

I really liked the first part of the season, even if L&R weren't talking. "21 is the loneliest number" was absolutely brilliant. Things started to go awry with the reconciliation though. I didn't like the magic fix-it quality of it, and I really didn't like Rory's getting the now forgotten job at the Standford bloody gazette. I would have been much more happy if the Gazette manager had turned her firmly and she had eventually got a job somewhere else from one of her other applications.

I have also been seriously non-plussed by all the Logan constant on-off pattern lately, and the Luke/Lorelai over on-going angst about April. But tonight's episode has reedeemed quite a few things.

I think season 6 has been a bit of a bust, perhaps not because the shows themselves have been terrible, but because the characters we have known for so many seasons have not been acting in character.  I'll buy conflict (anything between Lorelai and Gilmores, because that's always in character) but I won't buy forced things.  The thing between Lorelai and Luke has been forced and dragged out, and both are acting out of character compared to previous seasons.  Luke: rant!  Lorelai: say what you're thinking, because it's never been a problem before!

And Rory.  In regards to Logan's affairs, she's pretty hoity-toity for someone who did have an affair with a married ex-boyfriend.  She was always Lorelai's voice of reason, yet of late, the most reason we hear is from Logan, of all people.  Poor Rory this season.

And while the Mrs. Kim writing a rock song was very cool, it was totally out of character.  The wedding dress fiasco was more her thing.

Last night, at least, we saw Emily back in action: playing the loving grandmother, then wanting to get rid of Sissy asap when she discovered the bonding was useless.  Lorelai's reaction to her parents' real estate aspirations was also typical.

I'll buy anything!  Just keep the characters true to the previous seasons so that the illusion that Stars Hollow and its people might be real isn't shattered.

I have to admit that this seasons SUCKS. I was already not that happy about it, but April seriously made it even crapier. And now after watching the spoilers, I've gone from... to  . And she'd better change it back soon, cause I'm not sure I'll be watching next season....and I've been watching since the pilot and have been online for years so.

But I get that they want drama(even if they don't need it), but don't change the heart of the show. I'm currently not buying the characters anymore...that's so not LL.

I use to be a spoilerjunky and watch every episode, I've just watched episode 6.16 and I still have to watch the rest...don't feel like it though cause 16 was pure filler...what new thing happened in that episode...NOTHING.

LORELAI: Oh, don’t be embarrassed Snuffy, I’m just teasing. It’d be a Mets cap.
LUKE: Could you possibly leave me and little missus alone for just a minute?
Luke: Got a handful of Barbie.

I will watch the show as long as it's on, but i can sum it up this way.. I like season 5-6, but I LOVE seasons 1-3, and dont feel the magic has been there in the same way since. seasons 1-3 were PERFECT.

Season 2 & 3 are my favourite seasons, being a huge Literati. Smiley
I don't think GG has had a "bad" season. 4 is probably my least favourite, but it's natural that it was a weaker season because they had a huge transisition to make what with Rory moving to Yale. I like 5 a lot & I don't think 6 is bad at all. I've missed a couple episodes of season 6 that I still haven't been able to see but judging on the majority that I've seen, I still think it's an amazing show.

I saw someone post this earlier on the forum, and I think its the best way to sum it up... the show doiesnt have the feeling as if we're watching someones lives anymore, it seems like more of a soap now.

I agree that Season 6 has not been that great.  I think the writing has been off. I don't think the split betwen Lorelai and Rory is the only reason, though. The Luke and Lorelai relationship has become too comfortable and boring. I still don't see how the Rory and Logan relationship works. We are not longer seeing Lorelai and her parents together.  Sookie and Lane, the supposed best friends who would be helping the girls deal with this estrangement, are on screen less than ever.  The quirky town events, which sometimes added humor to an episode, are few and far between, and seem quite forced. (boil and sore alley? not funny, not quirky, just stupid) Frankly, I think now that Lorelai and Rory have made up, the episodes are just as bad as earlier in season 6, and they feel worse because the chemistry we expect is just not there.

I don't know if anyone agrees with me, but alll I can say is that I used to look forward to watching a new episode of Gilmore Girls because I knew it would be funny and heartwarming.  Now, I'm no longer excited when a new episode comes on, because I know the good moments are going to be few and far between compared to the boring ones.

I wouldn't say its a decline. I think as the Gilmore Girls grow up, their story lines are going to become a bit more adult as well. I think Rory is acting very hypocritical with Logan right now, and I am REALLY missing the devoted girlfriend she used to be, regardless of her relationship.

Once again, I'm covering my head as I write this, but the Luke/Lorelai romance really doesn't seem to work for me. It was just plain awkward at the begining of the season watching them really get their lips going when they kissed. I liked it when they were friends.

At the begining of the series, I often used to get a bit annoyed because those big events that you waited for, or the twists in the plot that spiced up the season were so far apart. Its a bit opposite this season. But I wouldn't say this season was horrible.

I agree, because, there are few happy "traditional" GG moments.  I know they have grown up and everything, but there aren't as many funny moment, more is drama and wishing everything would just work out.
