Hi Malaca, this is actually the section of the .org where people post articles about the show and/or cast members that they have found on the internet, or wherever.

There is a thread under General Discussion, Decline of Gilmore Girls? Discussion, where you can post your thoughts. Trust me, you're not alone. A lot of us are disappointed with the show this season.

Don't worry about it though, a moderator will probably merge this with that thread, and there you are more likely to receive a response. Welcome to the forum, we are happy to have you Smiley.

I love Lauren Graham - huge fan. But, towards the end of S. 6 and throughout this season, she isn't the thinnest she's been. Relax, okay? Just because an actress gains a little bit of weight...

She is certainly not heavy, but she isn't was thin as she has been. The way I see it, in S. 1-3 she's been consistantly trim. In S 4, its possible that she had gained a little weight. Just a little.

Season 5 she was back down to her toned self, and for the first half of S 6 she stayed the same. It was only later in the sixth season that, yes, I noticed that Lauren (Not Lorelai... It's Lauren who plays a character, so it's Lauren's body.) had gained a little weight. And, in my opinion, the seventh season is showing her as the heaviest she's been. But she isn't heavy, she's just heavier than what she has been in the past. She looks good, just heavier. It's not a big deal.

Speaking of Lauren - does this go on the Lauren Graham/Lorelai Gilmore appreciation. If so, oops - I haven't failed to notice her hairstyle. Or, well, the change in her hairstyle. In this new season, her hair was looked a little dryer than usual. Especially when it is flatironed or blowdried... whatever method is used to make her hair straight. The ends just look dry, and it looks... I don't know... it lacks luster.

I know that Lauren doesn't exactly have Alexis Bledel hair (drool.) but it has looked nice in past seasons. Season 1? Not maybe favorite. Season 2? Ehh. Season 3? Nice. Really. I liked it. Season 4? Long, and looking very similar to her hair this season. Season 5? Nice. It was quite styled, but it looked healthy. Season 6? Nice, too. Again, very styled, but it still looked cute. Kind of chic.

I just noticed that her hair, when not curled, looks a little dry. Her hair's nice when it's curled, but can tend to look a little lifeless. It just reminds me of her hair in the Fourth Season.

I... I don't know. I'm not sure why I pointed that out.

I agree, they are definately running out of options with the storyline.  The longer it goes on, the more it seems to be dragging, and repetitious.  The whole Rory/ Logan thing is out, not really important anymore and now that Lorelei and Christopher are married, what is left of the "Gilmore Girls".  Does Lorelei really want to be married anyway?  She is so independent and that was like a slap in the face to Christopher this last episode when she was going into town and didn't want him to come with her.  It isn't about the townspeople adjusting at all, it is about Lorelei adjusting.  And if she isn't ready for others to see him, then she obviously isn't ready to be settled down.

I have noticed in the recent years that Lorelai's looks are in slight decline.

^Yes, I've noticed that too. For some reason it makes me sad and I have no idea why. I'm pretty sure she just gained a little weight because she quit smoking so at least she's got a great great reason for it! It's great that she's quitting cause thats way worse than gaining a couple pounds.

Just saw the topic of this thread and was wondering if anyone else had noticed how much the ORG seems to have slowed down?

My favorite seasons by far are season 1-3.  Season 4 is pretty good, but I definitely saw a decline after season 3.  It got boring, to be honest.  But I still LOVE the Gilmore Girls, no matter what.

Okay, I have to admit that my Gilmore Girl reality is shattered every time a writer shamelessly puts in some extra line, mostly in the form of a song lyric, that you know the actors are embarassed to say.  I am usually so engrossed in the show but when Lane threw up her drumsticks in Season 2 (?) and said, "I need to rock, baby!" it completely took me out of the show.  Also, there's a time when Luke sings, "Love is in the air," to make fun of Lorelai being asked out by Kirk, which pretty much degraded his character, and you know that deep down, he wanted to roll his eyes at the gratuity of the writing.  The intellectual dialogue is undercut every time an extra puts in some too-quick quip that only Lorelai Gilmore should be saying.  The writers should have enough respect for the viewers to keep it realistic; not everyone thinks of one-liners that fast, and it takes the entire show down a level for me when it happens.  There's my rant.

And also Jess was the only worthwhile guy Rory's ever been involved with, Dean, the character and the actor, is pretty much the most boring person on the face of the planet

What's so great about Jess?  He treated Rory like crap, which Rory herself admitted.
