ETA: Campbell Reese is the best Bio book ever. We used it in high school, when I was good at Bio. Then I went to college and took Intro Bio (with a different textbook) which was notoriously the hardest class in school and barely got a grade on the curve. And then tried Second Semester Bio and hated it and there went my love for Biology and looking forward to taking Orgo at the "hardest program in the Northeast" went my dream of medical school. Sad

Now I'm a Social Science slacker.

Okay, you're freaking me out now.  Sad I'm applying to Tufts, BTW.

Some people do fine. But they're smarter than me and work way harder. I'm pretty dumb, really. Well, apparently. But we do have the hardest orgo program in the Northeast. And when you go to drop Bio 14, instead of the professor sitting down and talking it out with you, he goes "Oh! Another one!" and signs your form right away. That being said, there's therefore a 90% acceptance rate to med school for those who stick it out, and 50% of our Medical School is our undergrads (hence the competition).

Besides, I don't even really like Biology that much. And I very much dislike Physics and Chem so... yeah, why do that anyway? I love Psych/Communications. Smiley

Coooooooooooooooool. And don't knock your safety (don't know what it is but)... Getting into COLLEGE is a major accomplishment.

I thought Cornell was your first choice?

I wanna be a doctor! But I think I'll do one of the 6 year programs so I can get it over with.

Aw, Lils. How come you feel out of place? Sad *hugs*

Man, I hate Biology. I'm in Bio 1 this year and I hate it. I hate looking under microscopes. I hate learning about cells. I hate meiosis and mitosis (which is what we just started today). It's all a review from 7th grade, when we had Life Science, and I absolutely hate it. The only kind of "Science" I like (well, so far, I haven't had Chem yet, that's next year), is Astronomy. I love Astronomy. *nods*

My dream school (although I'm only a high school sophomore), is NYU. For journalism. I doubt I'll get in, though. I'm so lazy. And if I do get in, it's freaking expensive. Undecided

Joan, there are very few 6 year programs anymore. Northwestern, for example, has a 7 year one, but my friend at Yale didn't even get in. A few schools have an 8 year program, but they're very hard to get into.

Good luck, Katherine.

Um. Okay. I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember Matti (his screenname was David_Gilmour, I believe) but he started this seriously creepy misogynistic livejournal community, and now I'm a little freaked out that I ever talked to him. I swear he sounds like he's going to be a serial killer or something. It's uber-creepy.

I remember him. I also talked to him. OMG that's one creepy livejournal. It's so unrealistic. Where the hell did he get that from? What happened to him to make him think like that? I hope it's meant in a FSC kinda way. How do you go from a Gilmore GIRLS lovin' guy to a women hating one? Okay some girl probaby screwed him over very badly last year?

I hope he doesn't mean it cause I know men like that. And they seriously will not get far in live with that kind of additude. I don't get misogynictic men. How do you expect a woman to fall in love with you and to have a family....a life, when you think of women like that. Especially when you start threading them like that as well.

To me (and well most men, I hope) real men aren't afraid of strong women. Just like women aren't afraid of strong men. But some do, and well people get mean when they get scared. But I saw a program about how men don't know how to behave nowadays cause women chanced. Well simple: don't think of a woman as a woman think of her as an equel human.....respect her like you want to be respected and she will respect you for it. And don't think of those oldfashion men do this women do that 'rules'. Cause nowadays women are also doing male things like 'handymen' stuff around the house.

I hope this is meant as a joke or something. Cause the last time I heard a guy talk like that he was obsest with me and attacked me on the street at some point (reason: I wasn't interested in him...hell I didn't even know him).

Lets hope he's just blowing of some steam. What women can't relate to having had enough of men from time to time.

Argh, he's always kind of been that way. I continued to talk to him some after I left ORG, but we eventually had a big fight because... well, he's weird. Whenever I said something he'd disagree with, he'd say something along the lines of I thought that way because I'm a woman. It turned into a bit of a LJ war because my friends flipped, and... yeah. It's a long story. But the point is, he's always been like that. This is just a scary next step and a bit extremist. When it was just an occasional woman hating post in his LJ, I'd write it off as, "Okay, he had a bad day." But he obviously really believes what he's writing to have a community on it and so many posts in the last couple months. It creeps me out.

Is it bad I find it kind of amusing that he thinks the reason women don't like him is that he's not horribly rich, attractive, or successful? Personally, what would turn me off about him would be the attitude. Ech.

Whoah just read parts from it and ..whoah.

I remember Matti, from my very early days, mostly I was just lurking back then and I remember his posts. He did some FSC's too, and I remember those to have been borderline inappropriate.
That Lj though...whoah.

I have never taken Matti seriously.  He's finnish.

My ff.net stalker apparently grew up ten minutes from me and lives in CT near Marissa now. Her favorite pizza place is in Mamaroneck but it gave me a Marissa flashback. Pepe's!

[I'm glad I lEaRnEd how 2 typ. 4 serious!
