Question: How do you feel about Lorelai and Chris getting back together?
Lorelai and Chris together; YES it’s about time. I’m so watching season 7.
LL apart; well I’ll watch it till they get back together but I won’t be lovin’ it.
LL apart AGAIN; THIS IS IT I’VE HAD IT WITH THIS STUPID SHOW. I don’t care if they fix it later on, they will never fix it with me. I’m boycotting this show.
LL apart; who cares.
LL apart; I won’t be watching GG till the good episodes come back on.

ugh...!  I feel the same way Trish!  I just double checked on the cw website and got this...

http://cwtv.com/thecw/gilmore-girls-050307

Joint statement from The CW and Warner Bros. Television regarding "Gilmore Girls."

"Announcing the final season of 'Gilmore Girls' is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. Television. This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television's most memorable, lovable characters. We thank Amy Sherman-Palladino, Dan Palladino, Dave Rosenthal, the amazing cast led by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as well as the producers, writers and crew for giving us this delightful gem for the past seven years. We would also like to thank the critics and 'Gilmore' fans for their passionate support and promise to give this series the send off it deserves."

GILMORE GIRLS finale airs Tuesday May 15 on The CW at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

I guess it's a good thing DR wrote 7.22 as a season or series finale.  And that’s about all I've got at the moment, I had resolved myself to it yesterday but it still smarts.

Hollow, Goodbye: Why There'll Be No More Gilmore

Say goodbye to Stars Hollow. The Gilmore Girls won't be back for an eighth season. After lengthy negotiations to sign the shows stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel to new contracts, CW decided walked away from the series. According to a CW insider, the network's execs feel confident enough in their development for the 2007-08 schedule that they no longer felt an urgent need to bring back the show.

While the season's last episode (airing May 15) wasn't conceived as a series finale, the insider said it does wrap up various storylines enough to satisfy fans. In a statement the CW thanked critics and Gilmore fans for "their passionate support" over the
years and promised to "give this series the sendoff it deserves." — Reporting by Stephen Battaglio

i'd been thinking that if there was a season 8, rory and logan would get back together and lorelai and luke would get married and have a little 'jam hands.'  so sad.  i feel like punching michael ausiello for getting my hopes up a few weeks ago.

Well, at least the official statement lets Alexis off the hook.

edit:  Spoke too soon.  Some people at TWoP have already started on the "stupid Alexis" kick.  Okay, only one person, but it's annoying when they've said the CW decided not to continue the show.

I have no idea what her plans are post-GG, but if she is interested in work behind the camera, I hope she directs either an Oscar winning film one day, or an Emmy winning tv show.  Or whatever she does, I hope she makes a big huge honking can't miss it success.

I don't know what else can be done.  I want to scream and cry and do anything.  I really don't know what else can be done.  Would it even be worth it to try and get the daisys and stuff out?  I'm wondering if it's even worth a shot.  I'm so depressed right now.

Yeah, good for them, this way no one will start we hate Alexis riots.

7th Heaven did come back after being officially canceled last year.  Personally, I don’t think I have the stamina for it.  Besides, after all they've been through, the network begging and begging AB & LG, and then dropping the ax like this (unless that’s just contrived to protect the girls) do you really the girls would want to?

Just call me negative nancy.

And another update:

In the end, they just couldn't strike a deal.

That, in a nutshell, is the reason Gilmore Girls isn't returning for an eighth season.

Multiple sources confirm that Warner Bros. recently made one final offer to Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel that included sizeable salary bumps for both in exchange for a shortened 13-episode season. As is now obvious, that offer was rejected.

I'm sorry I'm going to be negative, but the reason I don't think the daisies will work is because I think the network pulled out because Lauren and Alexis really did not want to do another season.  It makes us sad, but I do understand why they would want to move on, a TV show is not easy and 7 years is a pretty good run.

Okay, I am not sure this is the correct place to post this on, but if today's news is not a true "spoiler" then I don't know what is.

Yes, it is official. I just read the statement on the CW's website. I have to say that I am sick, sick, sick. I didn't in a million years think that this would happen so abruptly but what do I know.

I have to be completely honest with everyone. When I first heard that both actresses turned down the last salary offer, I told myself that I hope that each of their next projects bombs so that they understand that "plum" roles don't just fall out of the sky. But then of course I remembered that they have been doing this job for 7 seasons and it is really their perogative to say farewell now.

I wonder if the show's not having an eighth season will affect the sales of "Because I Said So" that is due to be released next week.

I will try not to be bitter next year without having my tuesday night GG to enjoy.

And then to make matters worse, they were showing 'Partings' on ABC Family this afternoon. I had to turn it off, I couldn't even watch it.

And what is with the CW statement saying that they are going to make sure that they give GG the sendoff it deserves. I mean come on, there are only two shows left. I was under the impression that filming of season 7 was done already.

I really, really, really hope that these last two episode are spectacular. I cannot even imagine the pressure that DR is under right now.

I wonder about the "send-off it deserves" as well.  The only true send off it deserves is to let the stories finish, and I just don't see that happening, so does that mean a tribute show? Those are usually not as good as the expectations.  Sad

Hasn't that been billed as a Mandy Moore/ Diane Keaton flick?  In all the commercials I've seen, Lauren was barely in the clips and not named in the voice overs.  If the sales are affected, I'd chalk that up more to people not liking Mandy Moore as an actress.  At least I'd expect there would be more of those people to make a dent than disgruntled GG fans, especially since I think the disgruntled ones are probably made up 99% of online viewers.

I noticed that too.  I remember thinking, hey you guys forgot one of the actresses!  And it will remain in my Netflix queue regardless of what happens.
