...that was a really good job by DR
DR had nothing to do with it, actually. The episode was written by RRK (thank god).

And Lessa, sorry, but I was playfully made fun of for the same mistake with this word earlier, so it's my turn to point it out:
"There were also the scenes where Lorelai was wandering right before she ran into Luke. It was almost like she was unconsciously sniffing her way towards the coffee."

"Unconciosuly"? So Lorelai was asleep or in a coma? Tongue

I think they meant "subconsciously" or however you spell it  Tongue Wink

I've had Luke's line of: "Things are never just standing still, they are always moving... changing" in my head all day.   Grin

Oh, the whole Hasselhoff scene was pretty cute. With Logan dressing - socks and all - before going out into the kitchen?

Was I the only one who thought Luke laughed really hard in this episode. Perhaps he needs a handful of chill pills!

Does anyone know why we can't watch the episodes on YouTube any more?  They were all there up until the 11th or 12th episode this season and now they are gone!  I missed last night's episode and tried finding them on youtube with no luck!  Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how to catch 7.18 without waiting for the re-run?

The word police messed with you, gilmoreguy78? Heck with them, unconscious is a correct usage. I picked it (after deliberating, if you must know) because I didn't think she would lean towards going to Luke's, so her hindbrain would be subverting her intentions rather than simply circumventing her inhibitions. But maybe I'm just being picky.

The bit about Luke being nervous about the affect Lorelai has on his personal life is a bit of a reach, I know. Still trying to explain his cryptic remark that he was actually trying to keep her at arm's length. We all saw him doing it, but there hasn't been a proper explanation of why yet. If this episode tells us anything, it's that it ain't over until everyone comes out and says what the hell they were thinking when they _______.

The thing that made it all right for me about Luke's scene in the maze was when he watched Lorelai walk away. That made everything else obsolete for me. I don't care so much about what he said or how he said it because when I saw him do that, it was like watching a Season 1 episode. I KNOW he had much more to say and explain but he was too nervous, so I hope he says them soon. I know especially from this scene that he still has deep feelings for Lorelai enough that he can naturally go back to habits he did before. Like I've said before I have that line of Luke's stuck in my head so it's good.

I also liked the David Hasselhoff reference, it was cute. But not as cute as Luke wearing a bracelet... now who's Wonder Woman?  Cheesy

Psst, the secret meaning of the bracelet can be found on page twenty-six of the spoiler thread.

I get Luke still compartmentalizing stuff. Wouldn't it be funny if he openly discussed getting back together with her among the entire town before broaching the subject with her (in a dramatically nearly-too-late way?)

Sorry I'm so late in getting on here and sharing my thoughts on this episode but life got in the way Wink
Anyway, I was so excited all day for the new episode to air because it really has a been a long time!  I was pleased with the content, especically the Logan/Lorelai scene in the kitchen and the Luke/Lorelai apologies in the maze.

I was proud to see Logan acknowledging Lorelai's issues with him and it was obvious that he wanted to clear the air and was seeking Lorelai's "approval" of him and the relationship he has with Rory.  He seemed very mature in this episode.  It also seems that Logan's reality check was really a good thing.  He needs to know what it's like to not have things handed to him and I think he is beginning to find out.  I am glad that Lorelai and Logan were able to talk and come to some type of understanding because it is an important relationship to Rory and I wouldn't want to see any more strain on any of these relationships.

Also, Luke and Lorelai meeting in the maze seemed to be succesful as well.  I mean it was a start, granted a very slow one, but still a start.  They really can't expect to get anywhere romantically without some apologies and remorse on both parts and of course they know this.  I was so happy to see this break through!!  Someone mentioned previously about Luke watching Lorelai walk away and that did catch my eye too because it is vintage Luke!

I am happy with this episode and it seems like things are looking up for the Luke and Lorelai situation...at least I hope so  Smiley

Thanks for listening!

So I guess that ASP had "nothing to do with" the episodes written by these folks (disregarding the 2007's)?

Interesting.....  lol

this episode seemed to forced to me. the dialogue the interaction everything. i dont know maybe it was just me.Though the symbolism was AMAZINGLY FABULOUS

I agree with you.  I hate to say it, but he acting was a little off.  Lauren's voice didn't have that perky up beat to it. It sounded like she was personally very down or sad and was kind of going through the motions.

I did like all the town stuff and the town meeting, Kirk in the Minotuar outfit, of course.

Symbolism was great, I loved that Lorelai and Luke actually confronted what each of them did wrong and acknowledged that they hurt the other by saying "I'm sorry."

I can't wait for Lorelai to go into the diner.

In the pure love side of the list goes Zack working at the diner - love all he says/does in these scenes, Rory and the job interview, Rory and the pro/con list, pie!, Paris interrogating Logan about his staying at the apartment, Michel and his dislike of Spring Fling, Michel and Sookie arguing about the baskets and more.  So over all a good epi.

I have to agree about Zack.  I love anytime he's working in the diner.

Sorry I think I'm double posting  Undecided

I'm a little oblivious to the fine line between setting limitations and plot subtleties, but there was something that bugged me.
Spunkies, tell me if you noticed a huge difference between the gist of the preview, the gist of the spoiler and the actual episode. Something about this epi (namely the absence of guests at the Dragonfly demanding bird watching) gave me the idea there were a lot of last-minute rewrites.

It's been my opinion that they shot a whole lotta stuff for the eventuality of a Season 8.  If they had a good idea of another season, they may have deleted certain things that would have pertained in some way to an eventual Series Finale this year.
