5.09 - Emily Says Hello

Summary: Rory (Alexis Bledel) decides that she and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) should split up at the next Friday night dinner and confront Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) separately about ending their separation. However, Emily dashes their hopes of a reconciliation by announcing that she is ready to begin dating. Meanwhile, Lorelai invites Christopher for lunch at the inn, unaware that Rory had warned Christopher to stay away from her mother. Feeling guilty that she hadn't told Luke (Scott Patterson) about seeing Christopher, Lorelai confesses that they had lunch, and Luke "convinces" himself that he isn't jealous.

It was sooo sad to see how Richard wanted to get back with Emily and Emily decides she wants to start seeing other people.
I guess its just showing how life can work in weird, sad and twisted ways...

I think this was really quite a sad epsoide.  Espically for Emily and Richard.  I cried at the end when Emily came home and broke down.  She thought she would be happy to date but in truth she just wanted to make Richard jealous.  She problay thought he would try and when her back if she did.  It's just so sad.  I was happy when they got re-married it was beautiful

I agree, this was a pretty sad eposide! With the whole Emily and Richered thing. Then with Luke and Lorelia! I think it's really sweet how Luke says he is not jelous just to make Lorelia feel better, but he soooooo is and you can tell! I am glad that Lorelia told him though, cause it would be worse if she did'nt cause you know he would find out somehow! Now with the whole Emily thing. I agree, she just dated to make Richered jelous!, and I thought it was really sad how she broke down at the end of the date like that!!

Here I am again to say how much I love Richard and Emily.  It was sad to see that Richard was interested in getting back together with her, and then she decides that she wants to date. When her and Lorelai were talking and Emily says "I think it's time for me to date." and Lorelai  chokes, and Emily says "I wanna go on a date."  And Lorelai says " with a  man?" and Emily says "no a weasle."   "of course a  man"  That was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Emily was freaking out about her date with Simon that was cute. When she comes home and she breaks down, I almost cried. She loves Richard so much.  I am sooooooooooooo glad that they got back together.

I agree it was sad to see Emily cry but it was also an amazing time to see that she really loves Richard and knows that they were meant for each other and no one else. But to be honest it took me by surprise when Emily tells Lorelia "she want to date" I about chocked myself. And then when Christopher comes to have lunch with lorelia and Rory walk in that when thing got very interesting. I think Rory came at her dad with great fear because Rory really like Luke and does not want to see that fall apart because of her dad. When Rory said "You promised to stay away and want again you come screwing everything up. And Christopher punch line "Look kid I did not call your mom she called me so this is not my fault, I mean what did you want me to say to your mom when she asked me to be hear?" Rory: "the simple word NO" I would have not expected Rory to treat her dad the ways she did but it was a great moment it kept you on your toe wondering what was going to happen next.

its was sad to see her cry but it was also funny when she like i used yur line and it worked aka 'hello'

This was a sad episode along with a funny one. Emily says 'hello' That was funny when she thought that saying hello was being to forward. I hated that Lorelai invited Chris to lunch but the scene where Luke and Lorelai kiss and he tells her he was fine with her and Chris having lunch was cute.

I hate this episode. It's so sad. It's sad because 1. Loralei invites Chris to lunch (and while shes with Luke) and 2. Emily decides to date again and hates that she does it and comes home crying POOR EMILY!!!

I hate that Lorelai invited Chris to lunch but I loved L/L kissing at the end.That is one of the few passionate kisses we ever got.
