Do they have writing and/or spelling tests in the afterlife? I think you need a few more classes. Why don't you have a nose or ears? How did you die? I don't even know what a "nife" is . . . but I suspect it couldn't kill me since you're just a ghost and cannot interact with the material world.

What's your favorite episode of Gilmore Girls?

As far as THIS episode is concerned . . . The Mia thing seriously threw me. ASP would NEVER have done that. It's just tacky recasting a character that we are already used to. It stuck out like a sore thumb the whole time. There is a HUGE difference between using the same actor twice as long as they can sufficiently play the second part different enough from how they portrayed their first character (Drella/Miss Celine, Jess' dad's girlfriend/Luke's babymomma) . . . . Imagine if randomly a different Asian woman was playing Mrs. Kim? We'd be annoyed.

You DO realize why Elizabeth Franz was unable to appear on the show, don't you?

This was a weird episode. I didnt like that they got a different actress to play Mia, I mean if they had to they could of at least gotten someone who was older like the actress who first played Mia. I felt kind of bad for Emily, it must have been very awkward for her, but at the same time I dont really care because she was being a total B**** to everyone. I liked when Rory went outside to talk to Logan and he thought she brought him a piece of cake.  Overall I thought this was a good episode.

No she did not die.  Elizabeth Franz was not available because she was in a play (it was Off Broadway).  And in case you don't understand why that would make it hard for her to be in LA to film that tiny little bit part for GG, most stage shows are 8 shows a week, with one day off.  I'm sorry but ASP WOULD have cast someone else as Mia if she had been there and this particular script came up.  She would have needed a Mia, the actress she previously used wasn't available, so find a MIA.  I understand not liking the change, but to make it an issue about David Rosenthal is just another reason why I think a lot of fans are watching this season with blinders on. ASP was not and is not perfect.  It was her concept but I personally think the show is better this year than it was last year.  Sorry I keep saying that, I know I just said it yesterday in the Hay Bale Maze thread, but seriously, ASP is gone, if you are that devastated, why not vote with your remote control?

1. i really like this episode because it is just so funny to see lorelai,rory and emily doing a roadtrip..lol

2. i thought i was a reall gg fan..but i have to admit..i did not notice that mia was not the same actress as she used to be....
well they did find somebody that looked quite similar..i am impressed

3. i agree with sharon....i actually like this season...and i think it is a bit unfair that everybody the whole time praises asp and wishes to see her back...
poor david rosenthal...it cannot be easy for him to satisfy you guys..



regarding my number 2.

you have to admit they look quite alike:
although the new mia looks youger..so that makes it unrealistic

Wow, my thoughts exactly!

I kept waiting for some "Gilmore moments" to happen - with words, without words, funny, sad - anything! They just don't. The scenes are just so blah. You can almost tell the exact point where 3 years ago the writers would have thought of something smart or truly touching to write. Now, it's like a conversation at home.


Season 7 - it's just a countdown for me. 5 more to go!

I was kind of bummed about this episode, I thought there were going to be flashbacks of Rory and Lorelai's childhood. Oh well, thats what I get for relying on spoilers!!

thoughts:

- I found the whole lets go to Mia's wedding plotline random. I just don't see how she fits into the overall picture. I mean I know that she was a surrogate mother to Lorelai and I suppose that is important, but I didn't feel there was a reason to bring her character back into the picture. It's just like the writers are running out of scenarios to throw the girls into. If there's only six episodes left (assuming there isn't an 8th season) then Mia's reappearance in the storyline seems like wasted space.  Plus I was way preoccupied with the fact that Kathy Baker (who played Mia this episode) was an awful actress, it irked me.

- Rory's storyline needs to pick up too. I hate seeing her get in these fights with Logan and then just have them wrap up neatly at the end of every episode...I feel like I'm watching the Brady Bunch; where's the conflict people!!! How many times can she fall for the extravagant apology by Logan. She said it herself, that the whole fly in and apologize thing wasn't going to work and then she just changes her  mind and forgives him. NOT COOL. Rory is someone that sticks to her principles and she is just folding every time she and Logan get into a skirmish.

- Logan quitting the Huntzberger Group = predictable. I've been waiting for him to have that epiphany since we first met Mitchum.

- I just feel as if we're all waiting for something big to happen, and I think it will every episode, and then bam nothing happens just a lot of filler. Almost like busy work you get in class. It's as if the writers are saying, "here let them chew on this while we think of something smart, witty, and interesting to put in the show". I'm starting to get a little fed up.

Overall, I'm still not quite sure how I feel about this episode. annoyed? perturbed? just happy to see the girls? It looks like things are winding down for the show, storylines are starting to come to an end (Logan vs. Mitchum) and even Emily and Lorelai to an extent. We get it they have a bond, its an unspoken one, how many times do they have to show this!!!

I'm stressed...I need a drink now lol.

i just rewatched this episode today, and i must say i wish they had the other Mia playing Mia! it just bugged me the entire time! also Logan got on my nerves in this episode. though i thought that the entire going to Mia's wedding was cool and brought back other memories from other shows, like that season 2 episode!
