I LOVED the "When a woman gives birth to a..." line. Lorelai's response made it that much better "Whattttt does that mean?"---so great!

Hmmm... just saw this on ABC Family. Not sure how I feel about this epi. Rory went from innocent to slut-muffin so fast, lol.

I was just comparing this episode to "The party's over" and I know that it's not identical and I'm probably drawing a long bow here but when Richard and Emily interfered with Lorelai and Luke, she got mad at her mother and fought for him back. When Richard and Emily interfered with Rory and Dean, she walked away, got drunk and didn't even pine. Though I suppose Rory and Dean's relationship had been heading that way for awhile since they rarely saw each other and had had so many problems in their past while Lorelai's was just beginning with Luke after such a long wait. And I love Rory and Logan together much more than Rory and Dean so I'm not complaining about how it ended up but it does kind of show that Lorelai is a lot stronger and more independent than Rory. But then if you left home at 18 with a 2 year old I'm sure you'd build up a large degee of independence too....

I find it interesting that everything that happens in that episode is driven by Christopher. Chris plants the idea in Rory's head to just go after a guy, Christopher starts yelling at Lorelai and all that is escalated after Christopher finds out about Rory and Logan (which he started). The Lorelai/Emiy rift occurs because of Christopher as does the Lorelai/Luke split. I guess I never thought about it before, but Chris is really responsible for a lot of things in that episode, incluidng the new Rory/Logan pairing.
Wow good point, just because Emily went to Christopher doesn't mean he has to give in to her manipulation. Also this points out that Christopher is not concerned with what Lorelai wants or needs. He's already been warned off by Rory "Mom is really happy now, don't mess it up." or something like that, but he decides to mess things up anyway. It was sad to see how hurt Luke was by being blind-sided by Lorelai visiting Christopher. They Lorelai jollys him out of it and they are dancing so sweet and Luke's getting more comfortable then wham the Rory thing. I think if I had been Lorelai I would have blown off the picture thing immediately and gone after Luke, maybe if she had caught up with him immediately, the could have worked it out. At least she left Christopher in no doubt about how she felt about his part in the whole thing.

Hey your right. Luke should NOT have over reacted like that but not only does Loralei not agree with Emily on a lot of things but on EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! And Rory has all of a sudden become a slut and worst of all with LOGAN!! What is that girl thinking?!?!?!?! And Chris is such a jerk in this episode I mean Emily told him at his house that she didn't like him she just liked him more than luke! and he did whatever she told him to do anyways!!! HE IS SOOOOOOO STUPID!!!! I HATE HIM!! Rory+Jess=Love Loralei+Luke=Love...................4 ever!!

Regardless of anyone's feelings towards Logan (I know I'm biased but stay with me here people) I don't think you can say Rory was acting like a slut. I mean Logan wasn't just some random guy, they'd known each other a while and everything had been heading in that direction. And she was what 20 years old in this eposode? She's not exactly a child. I disagree with her sleeping with a married man, I'm also not really a fan of her kissing Jess while she's seeing other people (twice! Dean and Logan). To me kissing someone who's not your boyfriend when you have a boyfriend is worse behaviour than making out with someone when you're both single.

Ya I guess your right. Rory wasn't really being a slut but I still don't like Logan, I think he's wrong for her. But poor Loralei I mean why does Luke treat her like that. I mean if you love someone you don't just leave like that, that was a Christopher type thing for Luke to do.

The thing with Rory is NOT whether she's a slut or not. It's how fast she went from one extreme to the other. I mean, wow.
