6.10 - He's Slippin' 'Em Bread... Dig?
After a long absence, Christopher (David Sutcliffe) reappears in Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory's (Alexis Bledel) lives with an offer to make up for lost time. Luke (Scott Patterson) struggles with what the new person in his life will mean to him and his relationship with Lorelai. Lorelai and Rory enjoy their first Thanskgiving at the Dragonfly Inn, during which Rory receives surprising news about Logan (Matt Czuchry). Meanwhile, as the band prepares for an important showcase performance, Lane (Keiko Agena) has to deal with Zach's (Todd Lowe) jealousy over a song Brian (John Cabrera) wrote about her. Singer/songwriter Carole King guest stars as Sophie, the owner of Stars Hollow's music shop.

I really liked this episode. I can't believe it... 4 in a row!
Brazzle frat
Bendle schnitz
Rollo whore
Sookie's joy over the reunion almost made me cry.
But what was with the hug hello with Christopher? Last I checked they didn't have a fun time together the last time they met. Weird. I'm not saying she should be snarky with him, but I would have expected some cool/distant behavior. But the inheritance... lmb0507, you were right! (referencing the Assorted Preview thread).
I am VERY glad that Lorelai didn't accept any for herself, but I'm not sure how I feel about Rory accepting it yet. It all depends on how she handles her grandparents. If she treats them like trash now that she doesn't need them I'll be very TO-ed.
I'm glad Luke wasn't upset with the meeting with Chris (obviously April affected his outlook), but UGH! Perfect opening to bring up April but he didn't!
Stupid Rory, actually bummed that they are broken up. Personally, I'm thrilled.
More to come.

Aww... I'm not thrilled they broke up. I want to see what happens like if she decides to confront him about it. Because she's obviously hurt and upset. I want to see if she does anything about it. I wish luke told lorelai about april though. She needs to know.

I know I came off harsh, but in reality I do understand what Rory felt. They had a fight and she saw it as just that... a fight. Nothing "official" was said so she had no reason to think they were broken up. Just not talking, like she told Lorelai. So I understand her surprise that he thinks they are broken up. I'm sure they'll talk and see where each is coming from. Rory's probably reading Honor's information as "he wants to be broken up with me" when maybe he just thought that's what she wanted.
It's just my personal preference that they go their separate ways. Rory needs to grow up for a while sans boy, and I don't just mean Logan... just any boy.

That was a pretty good episode. I loved all of the Lorelai/Rory reunion stuff (like the notes), because I'd almost forgotten how much better the show was with them together. I loved Michel's reaction- "RORY!...hi." "That was weird." I liked that Luke felt like he could talk to to Liz about April, but I know that the whole thing will spiral out of proportion the longer he waits to tell Lorelai. It was cool that Chris was fine "just financing". The paying-for-Yale situation is interesting, but I have a feeling it will explode once Emily and Richard find out. The Zach-Lane-band plotline wasn't my main worry, it was okay. I am not at all upset that Rory and Logan are broken up-- good riddance. Interesting how Rory and Luke were so upset at what was supposed to be the happy point of the episode.
No promo, though. I guess that means we're into winter hiatus.

Where to begin. This episode answered so many questions that I had and of course left more in their wake!
Why no one in Stars Hollow knows about April - she lives in another town - Woodbridge!
Rory is not going back to Yale until Spring Break. She is still working on Community Service.
I wonder when she will start working at the paper? Will she work at the Yale paper too?
Paris will drive everyone nuts as editor.
How can Rory go to Yale and work at 2 papers at the same time?
Zach is pretty dumb. Not near good enough for Lane. But, he is obviously frustrated about the relationship and unable to communicate it. Obvious that they will break up, but, I now wonder if it will take. He is so obviously in love with Lane. I am thinking that they will eventually make-up...but, will they ever marry?
I suspected Logan thought he and Rory broke up. Either that or he was just trying to get his family to back off. I don't think he knows his sister called Rory. I think this is another on-off-on relationship. They are both going through changes. I think they will eventually get back together...for another go-round. I think Rory is good for him but he is not good for her. I never really liked Logan, but, he is the product of his upbringing and acts like it. I don't think he is as bad as Logan haters make him out to be. In fact, I am starting to like Logan. He has potential.

Actually, I agree, Rory could use some non-boyfriend time. Perhaps Logan will just become a good friend. After graduation, I see Rory going off to become a journalist concentrating on work not love.
Luke, Luke, Luke....I can't believe he told his sister.
She is such a blabber mouth. She is bound to let it slip to Lorelei. But, she is right, he shouldn't wait to tell her about April....but, will he? And, Lorelei will get mad and they will make up....unless... Anna...
Funny how Liz knew who the April's mother was. That makes me think Anna knew. And, didn't tell April...but, her Mom had to know about the science fair project
?? Well, I am sure we will learn more later.
Chris has money now. I was happy for him and Rory. Then, they made a joke about back taxes....I got a sick feeling in my stomach. What if after Rory accepts Yale tuition and tells the Gilmores she doesn't need their money and the government comes after Chris and takes most of his $$$. That would not be good. But, an interesting plot twist.
I missed Lane's glasses. I guess she got contacts.
And, what's up with Doyle. Does he disappear too? Isn't he still supposed to be dating Paris. Will he disappear too?
Did anyone else think it was a bit of a fizzle for the ending of the episode?

Okay, maybe I need to watch the episode again (and I'm sure I will), but I just didn't really care for it. I thought a lot of it felt...off, somehow. I can't really explain it, but I know that from the beginning with Rory and Lorelai's little bathroom banter, things just felt too forced to me. I just wasn't feeling it. The sugar on the toes thing was goofy. Paul Anka bores me. And then the whole Lorelai/Chris meeting was weird (Nikki, I agree that there should have been more cool distance or something between them). I know that Christopher's wanting to help was coming from a good place, but his going on and on about how he could give them whatever annoyed me.
And Zach. What in the world?! I mean, he's always been a little dopey, but not idiotic/jerky like the last two episodes have made him out to be. The fight at the gig was just ridiculous, and I really wanted him and Lane to actually talk and not just have Zach be surly, Lane be mad/upset, and that's that. I hope they communicate soon. And I wonder what this all means for the band. They just blew a major opportunity.
I am sure I will have more later. I don't want to be too negative. I guess after the last few weeks I'm just disappointed in the quality of this episode. Does anyone agree with me?

I agree, but more than that was that she just put her shoe back on! Who doesn't wash off wet sugar that's been licked by a dog!

As I said, it's 4 good episodes in a row for me. But I think maybe the drought has caused me to be easily pleased. You know, they were giving us 5 star shows a long time ago, and then we were given 2 star shows for a while, and now if we are only at 3 stars I'm so jazzed after the 2 stars that I feel like we are back at 5 stars. Hope that made sense
Point is, I won't be surprised if I'm the only one who is still happy.

Hello all, I'm relatively new here. I never post, but I've been lurking for a very long time. I was wondering about the first scene with the bathroom and the 2 sinks. That moment was very deja vu for me. Was there an interview with Lauren Graham discussing 2 sinks and how "what do you use 2 sinks for? One to brush your teeth and one to spit?" ? I know this sounds like a weird question but that has been bugging me from the beginning of the episode. I know I heard something relating to that somewhere. Thanks to whoever answers this question for me! My life's alittle sad when i get all bugged out over alittle annoyance like not knowing the interview that is from.
ETA: I found my answer! It was a Conan interview from 2003. I knew it sounded familiar. I found it hysterical though at the time. I knew she said it. I just couldn't remember specifically when. I just found it amusing that they brought that into the episode.

Yes and no. I agree that there was something missing. At the end of the show, I thought - huh? that can't be the end! It just sort of fizzled out. And, it felt choppy. I know it is always choppy, but, usually it flows well anyway. This time it didn't.

I agree with you, too. I thought the show fizzled, but it answered some questions. And, it was pretty good in comparison to certain past episodes.
