Is there any part of this campaign that is being directed solely toward Amy Sherman-Palladino to write the GG two hour television movie? It would seem more logical to focus on the movie than an 8th season. Dawn Ostroff is not going to renew the show at this point. Les Moonves would never allow it anyway. The only way we will be getting more Gilmore Girls in the future is if someone scripts a movie. The only person to suggest that thus far is AS-P herself. So why not send daisies, coffee, letters, etc. to Amy. That way she will know that Gilmore fans never forget and we won't let her forget either.

I just think it would be horrible if people donated money for the daisy campaign and have it lead to nothing. At least by sending things ASPs way there is still a chance of something coming from it.

I agree. There seem to be quite a few people here that want things sent to Amy, and I really don't see why just some of the daisies can't go to her. Obviously I'm not running this effort, nor am I able to give any money, so it's not like my opinion is really all that important here. Anyways, recently Lauren has said very telling things about how she felt about last year and how she feels about a movie. It doesn't seem like Lauren's going to do anything until Amy does something first. Again, it's only just my view on this whole thing. I'll just go back to lurking now.

Rob, I think delivering the petition to Amy's office sounds good, though. I would just hope that something will reach Amy, because I doubt Lauren is going to call Amy up if the Daisy's reach her to ask her to write anything.

I don't know it off the top of my head.  Try the Season 7 discussion section elsewhere in the forums -- there should be a thread for each episode within the season 7 section, so you should be able to find out where to find the TZ episode there.

Also, try Netflix -- since TZ is on DVD, Netflix might just have it.  Or Blockbuster or Movie Gallery.  Amazon.com also discounts its DVDs heavily, particularly DVD sets and its private sellers often discount them even more.

I just remembered that the Sci-Fi Channel runs Twilight Zone marathons on holidays. Since July 4th is coming up, I went to the Sci Fi Channel website and saw they are having A Twilight Zone Marathon on July 3rd and 4th.  Looked at the schedule and "The Long Morrow" is scheduled for July 3rd at 11:30 pm (I believe that is EST).  So if you are in another time zone you will have to see what time it is on in your area.

Another option is that they have 4 Episode Twilight Zone DVDs for sale.  The Long Morrow is on Volume 23.   I found it at the CD Universe website for 6.95. You could probably find it at any website that sells DVDs.

Please forgive me if I missed this, but I have been having hard time to keep up with my reading, and am 10 pages behind.

But - I was just going to the local San Diego WB station to look up a news article on local fires, and at the top of the page where different show pictures were alternating, it suddenly said: "Gilmore Girls tonight 8/7".  And it had a beautiful picture of Lorelai. So I clicked the arrow, and was brought to a page that said:

"Gilmore Girls Recap: Bon Voyage
Series Finale!

What do you think?"

Then there were questions to answer.  So I voted, and here are the current totals:

Was "Bon Voyage" a proper send off for Gilmore Girls?
  22.5%
Yes - It was perfect and true to the show. (1481 responses)

 60.4%
No! I need more! (3970 responses)

 17.0%
I'm in denial. Ask me later. (1119 responses)

6570 total responses

(Poll results not scientific)

Which of these was your favorite quote?

 39.8%
"It takes a remarkable person to inspire all this" - Richard to Lorelai (2599 responses)

 41.2%
"I just like to see you happy" - Luke to Lorelai (2690 responses)

 19.0%
"I just feel like I need more time" - Lorelai to Rory (1242 responses)

6531 total responses

(Poll results not scientific)

Did you cry?

 21.6%
No. (1417 responses)

 42.8%
Yes. (2806 responses)

 15.3%
A couple times (1006 responses)

 20.2%
I'm still crying. (1326 responses)

6555 total responses

(Poll results not scientific)

Anyway, I never noticed this before, so excuse me if you have already mentioned this before.  It sounds hopeful to me like they are still asking.   I almost thought I was looking at a time warp when I saw the page.

I'm starting to agree with people here. I realize Amy has very little control over the negitiations for an 8th season however, with a little more encouragement from fans via Daisy Duke might give her enough of an insentive to be on board for at least the movie and perhaps an 8-13 episode 8th season if it does come up to negotiations again. Especially if "Jeezabelle" sinks Amy might resurface interest in taking GG under her wing.  She could in some way be a deciding factor for the CW if she handles the show whether as a writer or producer because it would surely bring up the rating for the show. There is no way Amy would carrry the burden of the entire show like she did before so she would need help filling in for whatever position she wouldn't take. I also agree Lauren would be much more confident in the movie thing if she knew Amy was going to do it for certain and since she doesn't seem to know; I don't think she's in as much contact with Amy as people think she is. Afterall Amy had NO IDEA what was going on the entire 7th season because she refused to watch it or hear any news of it. So if Amy recieves more encouragement from fans and becomes attached to the idea of the movie and/or and 8th season; then Lauren could possibly gain the same sort of confidence in the need for more GG. It could make her be more on board attempting to convince Alexis to continue with GG for a few more episodes. Ah, anyway... this is just my opinion.

It could make her be more on board attempting to convince Alexis to continue with GG for a few more episodes. Ah, anyway... this is just my opinion.

I look at it this way regarding Amy:

1) Lauren remains interested in producing even though Good Game is now defunct, but she defers to Amy on any Gg revival.  Lauren, who is doing movies rather than a series, has more time on her hands as a non-lead movie actor (as opposed to hellacioulsly busy lead TV star) to produce more stuff on the side on her own than Amy does.

2) Amy is interested in doing a revival but is too busy with Jezebel James to do one in the next year or two (assuming that Jezebel doesn't get cancelled right away.)

3) Lauren keeps in touch with Amy.

4) Lauren seems to be under the increasing realization that the show did not end well.

Therefore, two more points:

A) If you target Lauren, then you're also targeting Amy.

B) If you target Lauren AND Amy doesn't really want to do it, then Lauren's mind still can/should be changed.  By contrast, if you target Amy and she's not interested, but you didn't target Lauren and Lauren could have been interested, then the opportunity is lost.  IMO, it's therefore simply a more efficient way to allocate our resources to campaign to Lauren, Alexis and Dawn Ostroff -- word *will* reach Amy from them.  IOW, it's "you campaign toward these three, then you're also campaigning Amy."

I know that no one wants to leave Amy out -- I don't, either, and that's why I include her on the letter-writing campaign and Operation Daisy Duke, but the Little Daisy Duke Campaign will be more and more likely to fail the more and more people are added to it.  Three is pushing it as it is with the orders Heather has gotten so far.  If the orders could get up to the 100,000 daisy range (or 400 units), I think that *then* we should start talking about dividing it four ways.  Unless Heather gets us a post that says, "Uh, guys, these take up a LOT more space than I expected."

Finally, Amy saying she's thinking of doing a 2-hour movie is an open overture to The CW and Warner -- she's in effect saying, "Come to me and we'll talk."  So I think in some respects, targeting Amy is a non-issue.  She's got her opinions on season 7 and seems to be accepting of the work David, RRK, Chemel and Lauren put into it even though she refuses to critique the season in public -- and nevertheless she's *still* interested in doing a movie.

It's far less clear whether or not The CW or Alexis (or by extension due to that darn pact, Lauren) are on board.  So IMO, it's most important to target the ones that absolutely have to be convinced -- The CW, Alexis and Lauren.

ETA #1 -- the CW's comment line at 1-818-977-6878 was still open at 2:40am ET/11:40 PT tonight.  Keep calling, keep bringing up points like the San Diego CW poll, keep spreading the phone number!

ETA #2 -- the petition passed 3000 signatures tonight.

ETA #3 -- @ LolaV.  Regarding "I just think it would be horrible for people to contribute to the Daisy campaign and have it lead to nothing."  I totally agree, but that's why this whole thing is one huge risk.  It begs the question, "if we knew we were going to get the show renewed, what would be the point in campaigning in the first place?"  You're not in it because you *know* you're going to get the results you want, you're in it because you *want* the results that you want -- ie: the revival of the show -- and you'll do whatever it takes to get it.  Which means, if you *want* the Daisy campaign to work, you've got to not just contribute to it yourself, you've got to get others to conribute to it as well -- get your family and friends to contribute, too.  Spread the word -- if you know someone in local radio or news, ask them to do a segment on the campaign and, heck, I'd be willing to take a phone interview or ten.  (I'll be writing a new press packet in the next week or so.)

I understand that it's important to target Lauren and, especially, Alexis, but neither of them will be able to do a movie if AS-P doesn't first write it. Lauren herself specifically said to ask Amy for/about the movie. That's really where her concern about it ends. We already know what her (LGs) stance is. That being she might be interested if AS-P would write it. Just because AS-P said she'd like to do a movie doesn't mean that the idea won't float right out of her head while being so busy with Jezebel James or any other project she might be interested in doing. She is a very talented woman and I'm sure will be busy for several years to come. Not only that, AS-P is very good at saying things, but not necessarily following through. Therefore, it's just as important to keep Amy aware of the ongoing efforts by the fans and their desire for the project to come about so that she won't lose interest. She needs to know the fanbase is still there and that it's worth her effort and time to create a new story.  Lauren is not interested enough in doing a movie to ask AS-P to consider or write a script.  She is happy with the show ending. She doesn't need a movie to feel okay with how the show finished. So bombarding her with the expectations that she'd talk AS-P into doing a movie is silly. The important thing is for Amy first to write a script that in the end moves LG and AB enough to want to film it.

The project needs to first be created before it can go anywhere else. The only person in control of that first step is AS-P.

Yeah, I think so too a little. I think most important are the Palladinos and the CW at first. If they both say "yes"(CW and Palladinos) to a movie or a new season, than itīs our turn to send Daisys and letters to Lauren and Alexis. I think that would be the best way. At first we should send Daisys and everything to the Palladinos and the CW and later if they really consider a new season or a movie, than we should send Lauren and Alexis Daisys and letters, to show them "Please, come back". I really think if the Palladinos and the CW say "yes" than  Lauren and Alexis say "yes" too. Iīm pretty sure that Lauren and Alexis come back than.
Thatīs just my opinion but It makes sence I think. Wink

Went through my head a few minutes ago. Shall we really mention the movie idea if we contact Amy and the CW? I mean if Amy and Dan have the choice, I think they will take the movie because of Amys new show. For me personally I donīt accept a movie. I just donīt want it to end, even if itīs Amys movie and if I see a wedding (than I even prefer a new season with David Rosenthal). Itīs not that I just want to see a wedding and than Iīm happy or how Lauren said *double wedding*. I see more in Gilmore Girls and I really could send scripts for 4 or 5 more seasons to Lauren, Alexis and Amy. Thatīs why I think we shouldnīt say we  want a movie. We should say that we want a new season even if Alexis has not the leading part or Gilmore Girls has more leads in the show, or Lauren and Alexis get not so much lines, one Palladino films season 8... and whatever. Maybe than Lauren and Alexis think about it and I personally I think they notice now (or later) that Gilmore Girls is the best they can get. And when they know that the fans still like the show when they have not so much lines..., they come back. And if Amy knows that itīs okay for us when just one Palladino films season 8 (Dan), itīs okay for her.  We must show the CW all alternatives we know. ***Just a wild guess***

And of course we should show Amy, Dan, Lauren, Alexis, David all the alternatives we know.

Why donīt make we a list
1000 reasons why we want season 8 (and not a movie)

and a alternatives for season 8 list
We can write here all the ideas like guest star Alexis, more leads...

and both lists could we send to the CW, Amy, Dan, David, Alexis and Lauren

What do you think?

I'm kind of on the fence about this whole question as to whether or not the daisies should be sent to Amy.  I understand that in order for a movie to happen that Amy would have to have it written before Lauren and Dawn would jump on board.  The big however with that though is that this is the Great8Mandate, not the movie mandate.  Our highest goal is to try to get an eighth season, BUT if we don't get that maybe we will have drawn enough attention to the demand for more GG that we will get a movie.  So ultimately, I guess I agree with everyone on this, so let's just do like Rob said and buy 100,000 daisies so we can send some to Amy.

On a different note, I read a few pages back that the LDDC was being extended to July 15th, but I haven't heard anything else about it.  Is that the case?  I wasn't able to send money on Friday like I had anticipated, and would have opened a PayPal account, but I really prefer to just mail a check.  I'd like to know soon since the original deadline is in just a few days.
