Hmm. That was quite an interview. Seems like the nail is about 3/4 of the way in the coffin...but did she say herself that she thought it was just a "season" finale and at the wrap party they said "See ya next year!"  Huh And I guess the rumors were opposite when she said that she was the one who backed out first and they considered doing the show with just Alexis  Shocked  Hmm...

Do I feel better? Do I feel worse?
It's too bad she's thankful to her fans, but not appreciative enough to just stick it out a little bit longer for like 6 million dollars....you know what, my husband works 12 hours shifts 5 or 6 days a week too, and he only makes $50,000-  so boo hoo- sign the contract!. Sorry, I guess I decided that I feel worse.

That interview did clear things up, and I did enjoy hearing her open up, but sometimes the truth hurts!!

I will certainly cherish the next episodes; for now, I should just go to bed.

and we dont want to do what 7th Heaven did, and have a not so great last season, instead of go out with a bang like we were supposed to.

I disagree, I feel like to go out on a high note we need a few more episodes with ASP.

I wish that maybe they could have Gilmore Girls run a full season length, but  show episodes every other week.  It could cut down on the working time, and still fufill the "half season"

That's a great idea!   I wish they would do that!!

KaraGilmore, I took the musical thing as a joke haha.

I'm going to paste what I wrote at teavee.com  because I think we can all relate:   I'm still so sad, I think it's something I'll never get over. That sounds kind of.. pathetic lol.. but I know we all feel that way so I guess it's not so much. It's kind of like being dumped after a 7 year long relationship.. or even like someone close to you passing away. That's how it feels. Tuesday nights will never be the same, that's for sure.

I don't want it to end but I can't wait to see what the finale will be like.

neverapuff, I'm sorry you feel worse after reading it. *hugs*... I still have mixed feelings but as I said before, i did get some closure from it.  I really understand where Lauren is coming from and I know a lot of people won't, but I don't blame her or anyone else at all for not having the fighting attitude we have had to keep going with GG.

Thanks for speaking out what I was thinking sometimes in the last days ... I hate to feel that way, but I do, I can't help it .. OTOH, we can't look in their heads and what they're thinking and we don't really know how it feels working in this business for so long and so hard ..

... well, I don't feel any better at all  Cry   .. this interview made everything sound  so definite ... I know that we had a chance of 1% before, but now after this interview - it's over .. argh, I am too depressed right now - I guess that's not what we expected to hear/read now, huh?

..I am thankful that she did the interview though .. cause she answered a lot of questions for us .. I am just not ready to enjoy it right now  Undecided

I'll always love Lauren, but I found some of the things she said in regards to the possibility of season 8 contradictory.  Maybe that's just me.

Me also.  I get the feeling that we could have been spared this heartache and had a decision that had us already at peace with the decision so that the finale could be enjoyed, instead of still being in shock.  If the re-writes were so all SH characters could get a good farewell, then that indicates to me that the decision, in Lauren's mind was already made.  However I do firmly believe if the right situation had come about, it was up for consideration...so I won't be holding that against her.  And I too feel a lot better for knowing the circumstances.  Part of the agony for me, was the lack of knowledge and the speculating.  So I know that barring a miracle, it is all done and dusted, but I think I can make my peace either way now.

I think it's fairly safe to say that barring a true miracle (of epic proportions), our Girls are pretty much gone. So sad (so, so sad), but true. I'd like to commend everyone for participating in the Great8Mandate for the last four months. When we started this process season 8 wasn't even on the map and by the time we were done we'd almost made it. That's dedication my friends.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that you, Heidi, are an amazing person.  This has truly been one of the best campaigns that has ever been run, and despite the seeming outcome, could not have been run any more effectively.  The countless hours and dedication behind the scenes has been an inspiration to me and to all other mandaters as well I'm sure.  Your dedication to the show and the site, is one rivalled by none, and one which we all have benefited from.  Thanks a cotillion Heidi - you truly are the Org Goddess

In regards to the Daisy Campaign, we've raised about $305. I'm still going to contact local florists and see what kind of daisy arrangement(s) can be made. I imagine that for $305 you can buy something pretty awesome. Wink I'll still accept donations, but please keep in mind that the show isn't coming back.

I think at this point I would like my money to still count for something and would love to send something to both Lauren and Alexis to thank them for 7 years of wonder and joy, love and laughter and memories that will never die.

As for GilmoreGirls.org and the ORG Forum, as long as Gilmore fans continue to visit ... I'll contine to keep everything online. Wink

I'm not going anywhere........I'm still all in.  After all this is the place that comes to celebrate all that is Gilmore.  The only place where others understand the passion for the show that I have.  The only place that not only allowed me to meet so many friends online here, not the least of which is our Org Goddess Heidi, but also one in person, late last year, as we live so close and would not have found each other, otherwise (Hey B).  But most of all this is the place where I met one of the sweetest most genuine people in the world.  She's over the other side of the world, and thanks to the show and the Org, we are about to have a transcontinental telephone conversation and take an already special friendship and make it stronger.

Two more episodes left ... let's enjoy them while we can. Hearts

~Heidi

Lets celebrate the beauty that is Gilmore Girls.  Find a way to put aside all the emotions that a last minute announcement like this make you feel and remember why it is that we feel so passionately in the first place.  Because this is an awesome, inspirational and bewitching show that has captured our hearts.

Long Live Gilmore Girls - even if it is only in our hearts Hearts

Good Point, but thats not going to happen.  And I think season 8 would scale down a lot more than it is allready.

I'm sitting here, in complete silence. I just read the interview. I will always support Lauren, because she has been more of a role model to me than many. I have, for the first time, really felt that this is it, this is goodbye. I have decided to send a boquet of flowers to both Alexis and Lauren on my own. Not to ask for another season, (it's not to say that I don't believe in the mandate any longer) but to thank them each for what they have given to me, to us, the Gilmore Girls community of fans. And to let them know personally, what the show has meant for me over the past 7 seasons. And finally, to wish them well in whatever direction life takes them! I wish them nothing but the very best! And selfishly, wish that it was Gilmore Girls...but understand that all good things must come to an end! (But never in our hearts!)

The friendships that this show has built are amazing and there are a few with whom I know I will continue to grow with and continue down life's journey with and for that, I am eternally grateful for! This forum, this site, are amazing and beautiful and I hope that they will continue to stand tall and proud! Heidi, in the short time that I've had the opportunity to get to know you a little, you have shown nothing but the utmost dediction and loyalty, care and compassion! You truly are amazing and beautiful! The writers of the show and all the characters of the show have been there just when I (and many others) have needed them!

Gilmore Girls is an amazing piece of art (as a dear friend has just described) and art never dies...it allows people to feel, it allows people to think, it allows people to unite, it allows people to express as they may not have done otherwise. The Gilmore Girls, not the show but- the people that we have been so privilaged to meet, to get to know, to allow into our lives, to walk through life with, will always hold a very special place in my life!

I have now just turned on Where You Lead[/i] and am reminded of just how appropriate this song is for the show and for life!

Loving you the way I do
I only wanna be with you
And I would go to the ends of the earth
Cause, darling, to me that's what you're worth

Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

If you're out on the road
Feeling lonely, and so cold
All you have to do is call my name
And I'll be there on the next train

Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

I always wanted a real home with flowers on the window sill
But if you want to live in New York City, honey, you know I will

I never thought I could get satisfaction from just one man
But if anyone can keep me happy, you're the one who can

And where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead (repeat)

I'm gonna follow were you lead (I'm gonna follow were you lead) I'm gonna follow were you lead (I'm gonna follow were you lead ) I'm gonna follow were you lead

The Gilmore Girls has lead to many wonderful and amazing things in my life in the seven seasons it's been in my life! And for that I'm forever thankful!

Thank you Lauren, Alexis, and all the other very important actors and writers, producers, crew, and network, for allowing the Gilmore Girls to become a special friend to many of us! You will never be forgotten! Thank you and all the best to everyone!

I actually think its better they ended it now after reading that, b/c ASP made the show and Laurens character is basically Amy and without her, Laurens character has been suffering along with the story line.. I just think the creator of the show needs to stick with her creation until the end.. its like she gave up on it or something.. it wasn't the same after she left.. I mean, so many people were complaining about how David's writing was, so imagine next season with him, if it picks up where season 7 will most likely leave off.. we'll have Rory gone.. probably not in 8th season at all in person, just talking about her sometimes, then we'll just have Lorelai and Luke's life.. which we've already seen throughout season 5 and 6.. so it might be repeptitve.. and then what.. they get married witout Rory there?  There's only so many things they could have done with that story.. but I feel alot better actually.. I would have loved an 8th season no matter what to put my imagination at rest, but now we can have our dreams, but I just hope its a good enough closure for us.. thats all im hoping right now.. its just awesome to have so many people working so hard together for something we all love and don't want to give up.. I think this forum will stay around for a long time after, but all i have to say is I will never love a show like Ive loved this one ever again, and I believe that to be true

WE WONT GIVE IN TIL WE SEE A WEDDING!

THATS IT? we're done? over?
we've worked so hard. all of us. and after one last interview we give up? i get that the likely-ness of the show coming back is not high by any means, but after reading the interview i was hoping to continue reading to see posts i've come to expect. THE ENCOURAGING.

i'm slightly disappointed with how we have one interview and we've given in. we didn't lose, we surrendered.

I get i might be overreacting considering our chances of getting what we wanted was probably about 1%, but as far as i'm concerned, WE STILL HAVE TIL MAY 17TH.

i'm hoping that the posts i've just read aren't what i thought and that we're going to continue fighting, i can't imagine watching the last two episodes knowing that the fans have accepted it. THIS ISN'T SOMETHING WE CAN JUST ACCEPT. we should still be fighting, we shouldn't be letting an interview get us so down, YES, BE HAPPY WITH THE ENDING like lauren said, but FIGHT SO IT'S NOT THE END.

by the way: right before i read the interview, i was on the gilmore girls (cw) myspace and posted a new thread for people to come over and keep supporting us.

I Agree 100%.
We need to realize now that there is no chance in them returning, and instead start thanking them.  It was much more than just a television show, and they really changed the way I think on a lot of different aspects.

I think we have to give up and just be thankful for what we have. It's a wrap, it's done and the cast we've come to love are fine with it ending. Fighting for a season 8 and succeeding is not going to happen. This isn't just one person's decision that we can reverse. Or a decision made about money or ratings.
We should just be happy for our Girls in all that they do. They're wonderful people and they want and deserve a break.

I feel worse now, I mean, it seems like she's excited that it is over, at least that's the way that she's acting (keep in mind, that is her profession, she MIGHT actually think otherwise), it just makes me sad that the whole crew and everything was so sure it was coming back with their "see you next season"'s and now it's just over. It seems so final.... Cry
