Okay so I have just sent off another round of emails, but I have to say I'm finding it harder and harder to express different ways of saying the same thing over and over.  So I've been thinking of easier options and think I may have come up with another quick easy way for us to get more of our message accross to the Girls.

What if we get one of our graphic wonders (I was thinking of either Drew (Copperboom!) or Melissa (Sooks), but anybody else that is able please raise your hand as I know both of these people are often very busy) to make up two printable pages, one with daisies and one with books.  Now each page would have anywhere up to 10 graphics on it that we would cut out with either, pre-typed messages such as "Will you be our Lorelai Gilmore for one more season" on them, or the space for individuals to write there own things.  Basically we are sending Daisies to Lauren and Books to Alexis, but in a cheaper way than the actual.  And if we get it happening and all post on the same day, except for a few of us international fans, most of them will be received at roughly the same time, so the effect of opening bulk envelopes, each filled with lots of daisies or books would be kind of like what we wanted to achieve with sending the bunches of actual flowers.

Let me know what you think

I agree with you 100% about finding new ways to say the same thing when sending out e-mails/ letters. I just think that's the way to reach people directly. These polls, who knows what will happen with them, what they mean, how much weight they really have. That's why I've been so much for the letter writing! However, I love your idea!!

I'd be more than happy to come up with some daisys and books but can't do it until tomorrow night, for me, (I'm central time - US)...and when I get them finished, I'll post them here. I'm thinking that they will be just seperate books/ daisys - that can be cut out and send in the paper form to either Lauren or Alexis? Is that what you're meaning, Caryn??

I love this idea! It's cheaper than sending the real thing, and it's easy to just insert your own quick sentance to either of them, and it will make a statement!! Great idea, Caryn! Smiley Smiley

EDIT: I actually just found a few things that I will post up in just a few minutes.

EDIT 2: OK, here's a book that might work...let me know what you think!

Thanks, Lauren! I was thinking that it would work good for people to cut out if they wanted to and write their own thoughs in the book, lines provided even! Smiley We'll see what Caryn thinks. I'm making the daisy one now, but not having as much luck with how it's turning out...so I'll post it tomorrow after I've had time to get some fresh perspective on it!

Keep up the great work everyone! Stay strong!

I know I'm never on here but I've been voting and sending letters. But you said that everyone at VM uses MACROS. Those are really expensive but I found a website that will give us a 30 day free trial. If we all do the free trial our votes should really go up. Here's the link:

Can someone give me a link for the banner?  I want to stick it up at TV.com for my user page, to match my button. Cheesy

Also here's something from TV Guide's "Ausiello Report" about a possible Season 8: http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Ausiello-Report/Exclusive-Gilmore-Mulls/800012893

Great news from zap2it's TV Gal Amy Amatangelo in her regular Monday column at:
http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-tvgal-041607-gilmoregirls,0,1473036.story

-------------------------

Here's the Gg-related excerpt from her column (the bold-face is mine) :

So now that we can communicate again, the time has come to talk about our Girls. "Gilmore Girls" returns this week with Logan visiting Stars Hollow and hope for all the Luke and Lorelai fans out there. For months I've received hundreds of emails from devoted fans who want an eighth season of "Gilmore Girls."

And even though this seventh season hasn't been as good as we know the show can be, I am on "The Great8Mandate" bandwagon. For seven years now, Lorelai, Rory, Emily, Richard, Luke, Sookie, Lane and the rest of Stars Hollow have been our friends. We deserve a proper farewell. Or as TV Gal reader Rebecca put it an "unrushed conclusion." I know much of the uncertainty is due to the fact that Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel have yet to commit to an eighth season, but I still wish all of this could have been settled back in the fall.

As this season winds down, Rory will graduate from Yale (the season finale even features Rory's hero Christiane Amanpour) and Luke and Lorelai do seem to be on the road to recovery. But a show like "Gilmore Girls" should leave the airwaves with fanfare and go out with a bang not with a whimper. But that's nearly impossible now as an eighth season for the show is still up in the air so late in the season. And that makes me mighty cranky.

Between the "Gilmore Girls" situation, the likely cancellation of "Veronica Mars," and the shabby treatment of "7th Heaven," I am so totally in a fight with The CW. It is on. How about you? How are you feeling about the CW these days? Write me at [email protected] and let me know.

-------------------------

Rob here again:  In some ways, I do agree with her that I wish all this could have been agreed upon last fall, but in other ways, I'd rather it not, as I don't think that announcing in advanace that any particular season of any show is going to be the show's last does the show any good.  I've already made my feelings known here by citing the last seasons of Friends and MASH (and I'll add Will & Grace) as examples of shows whose final, shortened seasons were all pretty bad.  And I blame that to their knowing in advance that it was the last season -- they just relaxed too much and it showed in their work (except for Courteney Cox, who never let up).  So I'd rather they announced an initial 13-episode pick up with a "we'll wait and see how we feel when we get there" again and perhaps even look at doing alternating 13 and 9-episode arcs every year. Or whatever, anything *but* announcing in advance that it's the final season.  Not that I wouldn't accept that a final season would be a final season once the series finale aired, but in a general sense, I think it's a bad idea for them to do anything other than say, "We're going to be back for at least 13 more episodes" and leave it at that for now.

  -- Rob

-----------------------
Season 8 AND Season 9:  Because we'll eventually need to find out if Rory is a "Little Edie Beale" or a Christiane Amanpour Lara Logan.

Thanks for posting this Rob.   Grin  It always makes me happy to hear news about a season 8.  This past month has been a nail bitter and an emotional rollercoaster awaiting news of a season 8.  I will be completely happy with a shorten season Smiley  I just want to see the proper ending to the show I love, and I believe it can be done in 9-13 episodes more!!

Agreed.  Even if it's just a half a season, it will have a proper farewell.  I believe that GG has had a long and healthy life, and, running the risk of you all hating me, I don't dissigree with it being canceled eventually, but more with how they would be ending the show if they ended it now.  We have stuck it out through all the trials and tribulations of season 7, even when the episodes really sucked (you all know what I'm talkin' about bad lighting, background noise, ect....), we kept on watching, because we knew it would get better!  And it did, slowly but surely, the episodes began to look more like they were done because they genuinley cared about the show.  But this season went too slow.  Either that, or they tried to pack too much into one season.  We've stuck it out too long to have it end so abruptly with so many unanwsered questions.  We deserve  a proper farwell, even if it's just a half a season.  But I'd still take a full season over a half season any day!
