We need a season 8. We are already halve way through the 7th season, so we needmore time, for loreali and rory to get their feet planted firmly in the ground, and so that we can see more happen with the love relationships. If we had the choice, there would be a 100th, but there can't, but if we try, we will have a season 8 on the WAL-MART selfs this time next year!

I brought up the letter writing topic the other day under the Masterplan thread... I love the idea of love letters sent on or around Feb. 14th, that would be awesome!!
Heidi~
do we have an specific person @ WB/CW that we are sending them to? We should post the address here...
Also... I'm available to help with Great8Mandate things too if need be! I'm in Mtn. time, so I'm only one hour behind you! Let me know

First off, I totally want an 8th season of Gilmore Girls (I mean who does not). I just can not imagine sitting in my bedroom watching my GG DVD's and wondering what if.... I hate those "what if's"
As of now, I am going to start searching for emails and addresses in which we can petition or ask politely for an 8th season. So let the search begin!
Lastly, how do you get the 8th season buttons in which Heidi made. I want one in my profile but I have no clue how to do it. Help!

Hi guys,
These are some replies that I've gotten from the various newspaper entertainment reporters I've contacted. I removed their names because I don't think it's important as to who said what. Rather, it's important to know that these are the opinions of people who are paid to research, write about, and follow television shows.
------
"... I think the Great8Mandate is a great idea because I love the Girls, even in their new guise, but I’m not sure that either logistics or ratings bode well. How would the Gilsies be without Rory and Lorelai, both of whom seem pretty determined to leave at the end of their contracts?"
------
"Of course it couldn't hurt to fire off some e-mails at CW president, Dawn Ostroff ... And good luck...a world without Rory, Lorelai and Emily is hard to imagine."
------
"... "Gilmore Girls" remains one of The CW's more popular shows, so I imagine that the network wouldn't mind having it back again in the fall; the problem is, once all the principals are given major raises to secure their services for another year, it might prove too expensive a show for a network that small. (Also, there are more than enough episodes already created for it to prosper in syndication, so that's not really an enticement for anyone involved -- they're essentially already set to rake in the dough in perpetuity.)
Still, never say never. Nonetheless, best of luck, and thanks for writing."
------
I personally believe that it's a huge deal that Lauren Graham was recently given a 'producer' credit on the show. It seems like that might be The CW's way of trying to encourage her to stay on another year.
Start sending those Great8Mandate letters ASAP! Don't feed into rumors about season 8 staying or going until you've heard an official word. Long live Gilmore Girls.

Heidi, this is a great idea. As I'm not very creative, I want to offer my help for whatever you require it. I have basic internet skills (and probably a bit more) so count me in!

Heidi,
I know that Lauren and Alexis want this to be their last season. Due to contracts but............
Heres an idea: Find out who would be willing to stay! instead of another season of gilmore
They can make a show called "Stars Hollow" if enough of the other actors would be willing to do that then
Lauren and Alexis could guest star here and there. If this season 8 doesn't work out then please think about
What I said. It could still make it without them maybe? I know I would watch it!!!!

In regards to Alexis and Lauren wanting to leave, is there an address that we can send mail to?? Maybe if a lot of people write in and tell them how much we love them and GG, it'll help them decide to stay on another year, or 10! *wishful thinking*
Personally, if I was an actress, and if my fans couldnt get enough of me, There's no way I'd consider leaving.

Ooooh, I like the idea of writing to Lauren and Alexis as well! That would at least tell them that we care and let them know we want the show to go on. I love the Valentine's Day idea, too!
