I feel I missed a conversation.  Why Logan what?

I don't know if it was a conversation... But it's a fair question. Logan isn't like Luke, all destined since day one, and after the lovely (if undeveloped) men she's dated, one might wonder - what does Logan have that they don't?

More precisely, what do they have that Logan doesn't, the answer being: other projects. It's nice to have an actor who's ready to see it through instead of using GG as a jumping-off point for 'bigger and better things.' But I could be wrong about Padalecki and Ventimiglia, I've mouthed off at exiting cast without knowing all the facts before!

Okay, so I came by here to defend some of the confusion over some of the past references....

Emily not going to Yale and Majoring in History- Emily did not attend Yale. Whenever the topic of Yale was brought up, it was always Richard and Richard's parents went but Emily was never mentioned. Penilin Lot attended Yale which is part of the reason why Gran favored her. Emily met up with Richard at Yale alot that's why she knows it so well herself. As for History as a major... well what else was Emily going to major in? She is a major member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) so she has to know alot about her "four fathers" and American history.

As for not remembering the 8th birthday party, there was confusing on the Bday parties. The 8th one is where the clown got arrested and the 11th one is where the scavenger hunt ended up in Taylor's garden. However, they never DID mention the themes for both of the parties, just what happened in them.

Were there any others in this episode?

I just saw this episode today. It made me feel really sad tho. The whole Luke situation, him being so depressed is just sad. At least the hat is coming back!

I really did love Miss Patty's and Babbete's conversation in this episode. The whole rooster, beagle, and hen thing just made me laugh and I loved how Kirk thinks they are talking literally.

loved the scene when Emily applauds Lorelai's independence, then she freezes her out the next day.

And now... the first of the post-Christopher episode and whoo!

I'm not surprised that Rory isn't shocked that her parents split up.  After all, they had a shaky history and now this.  I think in one way, she's sad that her parents weren't right for each other after all these years though I think in a way, she always wanted them together.  Yet, I think there's a bit of relief because at least that now, her father won't pursue her mother anymore in some type of romantic way anymore.  Still, it must hurt that Lorelai doesn't really have anyone right now.

To see Emily trying to have some control and everything goes to chaos while Richard doesn't want to eat anything and just want to watch old golf games is hilarious.  It was good of Lorelai to come to her parents for a while and help out.  Have Sookie create food for Richard with the suggestions for some chefs while teaching Emily how to use Quicken.  Though, she was under the influence of alcohol, I think all those things Emily said about Lorelai's independence was very thoughtful.  She must envy Lorelai for the fact that she doesn't need anyone to help her with things.  I think in one way, those comments and compliments will steer Lorelai back into the right direction of finding herself again.  I think Emily knew that Lorelai wanted to work things out with Christopher and it didn't happen.  It was quite sad that Lorelai now has a divorce on her life file.  Yet, she gained Emily's sympathy.

Then that next day, Emily went back to her old self.  Upset that the party is cancelled and will get a 60% return and such.  I think that last scene showed in reference to episode 2.16-There's the Rub about that relationship.  Just as they were getting close.  Something goes wrong.  It's always one-step forward and 2 steps back and Lorelai definitely seemed hurt by her mother's behavior.  Then again, maybe Emily doesn't know how to be the warm mother to her daughter.  I don't think it's really Emily's fault.  It's probably because of the way she was raised.

I don't Mitchum Huntzberger, he tried to get Rory to be on his good side.  In way, she kind of made him squirm a bit which is good and she's not intimidated by him.  Yet, he's using her so he can get Logan to behave.  I'm glad she's not taking credit for it because she's not doing it for Mitchum.  She's just steering Logan in the right path for himself.  Yet, when everything seems good for Logan.  Then came that call and oh man.  I feel sorry for him because just as he was enjoying this job he had.  It all falls apart.

The townies are now commenting on the Lorelai-Christopher divorce and they're wondering what Luke is thinking about all of this.

Doula is adorable.  She looks cute and T.J. and Liz seems to have it all together.  I mean, after years of being in bad relationships and going through lots of trouble.  She seems happy.  She's got a great husband, a new baby, and a talent that is keeping her financially stable.  She's got everything.  Yet, as history recalls.  She always goes to her brother for help.  Now seeing her brother living all alone in that apartment and hearing about Lorelai's divorce.  What she's saying about the two getting back together is dead on.  To see Luke hear it when he's lying on his daughter's bed showed that clearly, he misses Lorelai and I think he is starting to realize how much he needs and probably wishes he could take back all those horrible things he said to her at the supermarket several months ago.  I have noticed that he looks a bit grayer in his hair and beard.

It's true what Liz and the townies are saying.  Luke and Lorelai need to get back together.  Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but soon.  What they need now is time to just repair themselves and move forward before they can get back together.  This was a really good episode.
