Yeah, I talk to your sister through PM a lot. =]

Yeah, I surprisingly didn't cry when Dumbledore died. I love him and all but I just couldn't work up a tear.

For some reason, I did not cry when Sirius died! I was really close to crying though! He is one of my favorites!

I cried when both Sirius and Dumbledore died. I didn't cry at all when I read the 7th book, but I probably will when I read it again because its always more emotional for me the second time.

Why don't we make a Harry Potter thread? Some people don't read HP and some dont' want to know what happens. Let's leave this thread just for general book discussion  Wink

I finished. That was so sad. I was crying my eyes out. Pretty much every single one of my fave characters died. I would not stop crying. I could not stop crying. My brother looked at me like I was out of this world. He said it was 'just a book' and it isn't. =[ It's so sad....

On another note--Frankenstein.  I have to read it...is it good?  I mean, I know the story, and the story is okay, but is the book good?

My mom came home with a book called Lord Peter and Harriet Part One--Strong Poison and Have His Carcase?  Has anyone read it...or even heard of it for that matter?  She also bought The Bell Jar, but I'd already read that book...it's a weird book, but it makes you think.

I'm sorry to jump in, but I need some advice for a super quick read to keep my mind from turning into scrambled eggs....
I have either Practical Magic  (from the movie- was it a book first?)  and The Boy Next Door ( from Kelly Ripa's Reading Club or something) a friend of mine gave them to me... has anyone read either of these, and can recommend them??? I hate going into a book blind- I have 2 kids, so time to myself to read or do anything is scarce, but worth it, so I can't waste it on a book that's going to suck! Thanks! Smiley

By the way... I read My Sister's Keeper recently, that was wonderful--- beautifully written, and I cried my eyes out...

This is one of my favorite books of all time! A wonderful and touching story.  I actually used a quote from it in my maid of honor speech at my sister's wedding.  If you liked this book I recommend some of her (Jodi Picoult) others including Plain Truth and The Tenth Circle.
