Fellow book nerds, I think it's time we got this party (re)started. I have no clue what number we were on, heh, so I just didn't put one. And I'm also feeling uncreative, so...I kind of reused the 'reading is sexy' one, as I loved it like a two dollar whore. Title in reference to this shirt. So, to get us started...Anyone read Their Eyes Were Watching God? I'm reading it for English, and it isn't that bad, so far. It's a bit slow to read, though, because of all the dialect. But it's pretty good. Also...*grins* What did you guys think of the new Harry Potter book? Heh. Am very much a Harry Potter dork.

Oooooh, I just love hithchhikers guide to the galaxy! I read all the books just before the movie released here, very very good books! Other than that I haven't read anything recently, other that two or three norwegian books called "tatt av kvinnen" and "naive super" by Erlend Loe.but I don't really know why thats worth mentioning on an american fan site :p

I WANT THAT SHIRT! So badly. I've been telling my mom that I want it. She loves it too. But my dad would hate for me to buy something of the internet so...no shirt for me.
Reading something for pleasure is a dream, I don't dare to dream anymore. We just finished reading "Crime and Punishment" in school and are now reading, "Tess of the D'urbervilles" Next is "King Lear and "East of Eden" simultaneuously! That's what I get for taking an AP english class.

Ugh. I went to Chapters today to look at books, and I found SO MANY I want. It's daunting to say the least. I feel like just buying all of them at once so I won't hit a dry reading patch. Maybe I'll go back this week and get a few.
Michelle, you're going to love The Lovely Bones. Such a fantastic book.

Guess what I'm reading? Animal Dreams. By Barbara Kingsolver. I'm so predictable. But school had started, and I wanted a book I couldn't remember clearly but that I knew I liked, so I dove into this one again. And I do love it! Her prose makes me want to move to New Mexico [ where the story is set].

Do you think my hair looks cool? 'Cause, you know, some days I wake up and I'm like, cool. Some days I'm like, could be cooler. Like today I got up and I was like, left side cool, right side not so cool.~~~ Fox Force Five #4

Yes, The Lovely Bones was really great. It didn't win a zillion awards for nothing!
And I feel your AP pain, Vicks. I'm doing the IB program and I think they hate me. We get tons and tons of work from every class all at once, so you're working and working and you're like "Did I shower today or was that yesterday?" and you don't have time to eat and you think you might have some grey hair and then...everything is calm. All the projects are done, all the essays are written, all the geometry problems are figured. You have so much time on your hands that you rearrange the furniture in your room just for the heck of it. I am, luckily, in one of those lulls right now, but judging from past experience, November and December are going to pull me off the forum for days at a time.
Sorry for the huge OT. I love talking, and I had nothing else to say.

I heard it was set near AZ, Beth so I read it this summer before I moved!
You got me completely obsessed. Yet, I cannot get through Poisonwood Bible without a distraction, and it's making me want to pull my hair out.
And a really great read: "A Long Way Down" It's the latest Nick Hornby, and it was really well written. Very funny.

Lovely Bones..great book indeed. I'm taking four AP classes. I think I had a stroke when I signed up for that. 5 next semester when I have government which is the only 1 semester Ap class. Showering? What's that? Seriously, I don't remember the last shower I took.

Damn, Vicksin. 4 APs? You insane, insane girl. Hee. I have no clue how I'm getting through one...I've got friends taking two, and it's kind of scary. Heh. I'm not good with massive workloads, though, cause I procrastinate. (And am doing so right now!)
Oh, I love the Lovely Bones. It was amazing. Hm. I need to reread that, it's been awhile since I've read it.
My reading list is currently about 50 ft long, lol. I've got the school books, of course, and then...High Fidelity, the Chocolate War, Fallen Angels, Bel Canto, and I want to reread the 4th HP book before the movie comes out...
