I'm currently reading The Grapes of Wrath. If you haven't gotten around to reading it yet, I definately reccomend it, especially if you're a fan of the Great Depression (I don't mean like 'Yay, people are depressed!', just a fan of the era LOL). Steinbeck is amazing! It's fabulous.

Oh I like Anne Rice! Grin Have you read Interview With the Vampire? That is a good book and movie. All the actors/actresses in the movie are amazingly creepy and the book is an exciting read.
That I have.  I've read it a couple of times.  As a matter of fact I just read it for a Vampires in Film in Literature class I took last fall.  I read a lot of her books.

I love Anne Rice! She's fabulous! Interview with a Vampire is one of my favorite books and movies! Where did you take the Vampires in Film in Literature class? Was all of the material about Vampires? That sounds so interesting! Grin
I took the class at the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque.  The class is part of a media arts degree.  And the class was all about vampires.  We read books and short stories and watched movies about vampires.  We also delved into folklore and covered Vlad Tepes and Countess Bathory.

Steinbeck is amazing!

I totally agree. I should check out the book, when I have time to read again.

I might read that.  My class just covered the entire Great Depression in one 42 minute class period.  That's what happens when you try to fit an entire 30 chapters worth of history into 4 months of class time.  lol

hey rorylovesjess -- i read A Seperate Piece for my english class last fall.  I liked it, to an extent.  LIke it was okay, but not a book I would choose to re-read you know?  But still -- It does get somewhat better, at least I thought!  Have fun with it -- and let me know what you think of it!

I love The Grapes of Wrath, I would reccomend it also, along with Of Mice and Men, that's another good John Steinbeck one.
I'm currently reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, but I'm just starting it, if anyone has read it, please tell me if it's good!

I'm NOT A Stienback fan, the only Stienback I liked was The Pearl.  When we were reading Of Mice and Men in HS I remember my teaching acting like the book is so full and action, and I thought it was SOOOOO slow.  Oh well.

I am constantly reading something new.  Going to the library is cool, right?  I am currently reading "the Portable Henry Rollins" which is a compilation of his other books.  Its an interesting look, so far, into his time with 'black flag' and 'the rollins band' and his interesting points of view on a myriad of topics.  I had a chance to see him do one of his spoken word tours a few years ago and it was so cool!  I almost opened a door into his face, like smacked him with it, it was pretty embarrasing!  I am also reading 'Under the Radar' magazine..the solution to music pollution!  If you can't tell, I love my indie music!  That is one of the things I enjoy about the show; actually knowing who the bands are and then thinking to myself "hmm, I forgot I had that cd, I think I will go and listen to it."

Completley!! I live really close to a library, so I walk all the time. I recently checked out The complete short stories of O'Henry, Mark Twain, and Ernest Hemingway. That's another one of my favorite authors. Gotta love For Whom the Bell Tolls. I'm liking The Great Gatsby too...Finally a book for school I actually like!! Grin
