Well, last night we were at Half-Price books and my mom told me I absolutely had to read Girl With A Pearl Earring and so I bought it and read it...and it was fantastic.  I like historical fiction a lot, some people have told me I was born a few centuries too late, and I loved it.  I am really not that big into art, but the story was so wonderfully woven about a painting that it is one of those books I cannot wait to share as well as reread.

Other than that, I can't read as much, as I can't get books from the library anymore since we are moving soon, and I don't generally enjoy spending full price on books, since some books are incredibly expensive now.  So I'm finishing up "The Eyre Affair" which is very good, although a little too science-fictiony for me.

I'm also reading "The Mermaid Chair" which is not nearly as good as "The Secret Life of Bees" but I will finish the book nonetheless.

I love, love, love that book!  I've read it twice and would love to own it.  I just love the the whole story, but the main part that made it so appealing to me was the language.  I adored the author's style of writing.  Smiley  It was just so beautiful.

By the way... I read My Sister's Keeper recently, that was wonderful--- beautifully written, and I cried my eyes out...

This is one of my favorite books of all time! A wonderful and touching story.  I actually used a quote from it in my maid of honor speech at my sister's wedding.  If you liked this book I recommend some of her (Jodi Picoult) others including Plain Truth and The Tenth Circle.

I definitely want to read more of her work... wow, now I want to reread my My Sister's Keeper- I have to start writing my MOH toast for my best friend's wedding- wanna share that quote? Wink Cheesy

Thanks  murfinator for recommending Boy Next Door!

Sure I would love to share the quote with you.  I used this at the very end of my speech.  It reads" You don't love someone because they are perfect, you love them in spite of the fact they are not perfect" after that I finished with, and here is to the perfect couple.

The the line was said by Julia to Campbell!  Good luck on your speech!

So right now I'm reading The Bel Jar by Sylvia Plath.
It's very sarcastic and dry.
You can tell why Rory read it!

I just finished Harry Poter 7- AMAZING!
I just started cause my cousin was borrowing it. It's REALLY good so far, I'm on page one hundred-something. Haha. But, I can't find time to FINISH it and I'm DESPERATE! It sucks that there's so many spoilers online, too.

Ohmigosh you're reading the Deathly Hallows! It was so good! Yeah I hated how people were posting spoilers online... a lot of them weren't even true. I made sure not to look at any HP type site till after I finished because of all the losers posting crap. I accidently did read one at IMDB and it wasn't even something that was true!

But I hope you enjoy it! Hehe Miranda, you're nearly done! On my final night reading it I read from chapter 24 all the way to the end.

Agreed. I also bought the lifetime movie on iTunes of the Mermaid chair with Kim Bassinger - kind lame acting, but I'm in love with fiction and film. So - they should totally make the Secret life of bees into a movie.

<3 to all you Harry Potter fans too - I just recently discover my affair with the scarred wizard - I'm on book 3 now... but i dressed up as Hermione for the 7th book release and it was LOADS of fun...

No, you misunderstood  Smiley The English book has come out everywhere in the world at the same time, but all the translations won't come out until November. But I tried reading it in English and it worked!!! Yay for me  Wink I absolutly loved it! It took me 11 hours in total, but it was definitely worth it!  Grin
