Well it hasn't been that long in the Gilmore world that Lane and Zach have been on their honeymoon. I mean they had their wedding then you figure they left that night or the next morning. Then the permire is just like 2 or 3 days after the wedding.

And Lane would not make a good mother. She hasn't had her chance to reach the rockstardom she so depserately wants. And Zach? I bet he doesn't want a child to interrupt his rockstardom either. Frankly, if this were real live, they'd abort, no question. Since this is a family show, guess what? No abortion. Don't get me wrong, I'm not pro-abortion (quite the contrary) but I think based on their characters, that would be the most realistic outcome.

And Rory? Come on! She's uber-Liberal. There's no way she would have just gone straight to that "you're going to be a great mother" crap. She would have suggested abortion as a valid option.

I checked, and both imdb.com and tv.com list his character as "Zack", but CWtv.com lists it as "Zach." So I've been misspelling it! I hate that!

I wholeheartedly disagree with you gilmoreguy78. How does the fact that Lane has not achieved her professional goals suggest that she would not be a good mother? I guess you could argue that someone in that position would resent their child for possibly "holding them back," but nothing about Lane's personality or past actions suggests that she would be that selfish. But what I really have a problem with is your outrageous claim that Lane and Zach, if this were "real life", would abort their child for the same reason, "no question." What?! What about their characters would make that "the most realistic outcome"? I can understand, like I said before, people in their position possibly resenting their child, and I definitely think that Lane and Zach will have some concerns, and may possibly be a little disappointed and see it as a setback, but I don't think having an abortion would cross their mind. You say "based on their characters, that would be the most realistic outcome," and I'd really love for you to back that up, because I just cannot fathom it.

I also sincerely doubt that Rory would have suggested that Lane have an abortion, and I also don't think that ASP would have written it that way. First of all, "liberal" does not automatically equal "pro-choice." And even if she were pro-choice, there is absolutely no way that she would suggest to her best friend, whom she loves and respects, that terminating her pregnancy was a "valid option." Why wouldn't Rory be supportive and happy for her? I don't think Rory would have an abortion if she were to end up unexpectedly pregnant, because had her mother done that she would not exist. Children who have been born despite inconvenient or troubling circumstances (i.e. born to underage parents, or as a result of a rape, or children who were given up for adoption for whatever reason) tend to be against abortion. I say that based on my own personal experience, and that of many people I know, not based on any statistic, so take it with a grain of salt. But still, since I believe Rory would not have an abortion herself, I highly doubt she would suggest one to Lane. I absolutely think it was realistic that she would go "straight to that 'you're going to be a great mother' crap." Rory and Lane have always supported eachother no matter what, and though Rory may have the same concerns about it being a setback, I don't think that would change their dynamic.

I have done my best to back up my opinions, and though you are in no way obligated to do the same, I'd be interested to hear how you would.
