I love Paul Anka. My mom (who swears up and down on a stack of Bibles that she pays attention when we watch the show) asked me who he was last week.

Lol, bless. Maybe she meant the actual person too?

You know, now that you mention it, she might not know who the singer is. But I think she meant the dog because she was like, "Dog? When did Lorelai get a dog?" But oddly enough she remembered when he ate the chocolate and got sick. So she remembered him, but didn't at the same time. I guess the mind is funny that way.

I kinda like the PA storyline. I've 2 dogs who both are a little weird. And have issues and do weird stuff. So it's refreshing to see another nutty but sweet dog on TV.

Does anyone think that Lorelei is especially extremely weird as far as the dog is concerned? I think we really can do without the dog. Anyone agree?
I do agree that we can do without dog. Paul Anka is adorable, and it was convenient as far as plot device and symbolism goes (i.e., Lorelai's crying over Paul Anka and not being a good mother was totally about Rory), but I don't see it being much fun in the long run. There are only so many quirks you can give one pet, and when Rory and Lorelai do make up there won't be a need for a "substitute Rory." I think we've been getting hints of the dog's demise: first the chocolate, then the sickness, and I wouldn't be surprised if something happened to him. I'm not saying I want the dog to die necessarily, but I think the dog subplots are getting old.

Maybe he will run away as dogs are wont to do. Or maybe Lorelai will take him to live on a big farm with lots of room to run and play and chase (or run away from) bunnies.
My cat is Paul Anka-esque and she seems to reflect what happens to him on the show. The other day she almost died. Maybe it's a sign. Dun, dun, dun!

I, personally, think Paul Anka is going to be on the show for awhile. I don't particularly care for him (I know, I know, I started the thread), but I just can't think of a way to get rid of him without a.) making people really upset like if he died or ran away, or b.) making it painfully obvious that he was just a substitute Rory.

I also think he'll stay on the show. Why would he leave? Just because Rory is back? No, they won't do something like that...hopefully.
Today I found one CD - The Best Songs of 50's and 60's - and there was one song by Paul Anka
You Are My Destiny
It's a horrible, scary song... and I really like it

And stories of what kinda weird stuff our dogs did, or how screwed up they are. My second dog we only got after 4 months....well lets just say his first home wasn't a good one and he has A LOT of issues.....which still breaks my heart cause he's a real sweety, but sometimes it make ya laugh your ass off when he pulls something you think 'this can't be happening'. I think my dog can actually top PA.
Little titbit (which is the most normal story I have about him). My dog watches TV. Which isn't weird yet, but we can't watch REX (a German series about a police dog) anymore, cause my dog sees what Rex can do and uses it for evil. He totally copies it from the TV.
He saw Rex open a box. Later we couldn't find our dog...after a while the oldest dog went looking for the youngest and he also didn't come back. So of course we got worried. When we found him he figured out how to open a Tupperware box that contant his dogfood and the boys were eating it. Now comes the weirdest part. It was a
childprove
tupperware box and even I had trouble opening the damn thing, but my dog got it open without making a sound.
My youngest dog is claustrofibic, has abandonment issues, got sexually harast by a rabit as a puppy before we got him so nobody is allowed to pet him near his ass cause he won't allow that, etc.
The oldest is afraid of socks or any bodpart that comes to close to him. He is afraid of metal and small dogs, etc.
My first dog (who past away at age 13 6 years ago) was afraid of water....even a sprinkler system.
Ohh man I have a lot of stories about my little gang of nutjobs. Gotta love 'em.

I don't know yet. I think I'm gonna stick with stories for now.
Our youngest one is the weirdest cause his first home serieusly screwed him up. Who would buy a puppy from a focker and only have him like a normal person buys a couch....for show...to look at and not raise and love. And when he's not a puppy anymore and they didn't raise him correctly and he does bad stuff....they just sell him again. But not before they serieusly traumaticed the poor guy. They locked a puppy in a rabithouse in the backyard with a rabit still inside it. Just cause he fits in it and ya don't want to be bothered with a dog doesn't mean you should EVER do that. Cause now he is claustrofobic and got sexualy harast by a rabit. Who doesn't know that a male rabit/bunny/whatever ya wanna call it humps anything that's his size. My sisters rabit even humped her slippers for Gods sake....it didn't even move. Just cause it's furry and small is enough for a rabit. My poor poor doggie. Even when he does bad stuff and he sometimes really pisses of my mother....well ya can't be mad at him, cause it comes out of a good heart. He just needs to be loved and well raised correctly. Man people who don't treat their pets right piss me off.
(sorry for ranting, but I really hate that)
