Paris is better as a more interesting character.  However, in most circumstances Paris seems to be just as naive as Rory and isn't very helpful to her, whereas Lane will actually talk through things with Rory and try to help her out.  Think about the Lane v. Paris response to the Dean situation.  Lane acted as a sounding board to help Rory through it.  Paris simply asked if she should wear her noise reducing headphones when Dean came over.  Not exactly a helpful friend there.

Oh i don't now, i do realy like them both but Lane has been a better friend to Rory, paris is so Fun Though. I think That i like Paris a bit better

Hands down my vote would be Lane she has always been a better friend to Rory than Paris.  Someimes Paris can be really self centered and mean.  She is not a very good friend to Rory most of the time.

Lane for sure!! No question, no doubt. Gives drama to the boring band parts containing (ie: fight with zach, zach's jelousy over brians's song called LANE) her. Without her in the band parts, no fights and it would be plainly boring!
Paris- nice and all, but really annoying. especially on the spoiles. THE CREW HATE HER SO MUCH THEY DONT OFFER RORY THE POSITION. sorry if i spoiled that part!!! Sad  Cool

Eh,I like them both.I do agree with yall that Lane is a WAY better and more supportive friend to Rory..Paris does make the show funnier...so I'm in the middle here.

True, and Lane is more supportive her- like the time in Rory moved in with her when she had no home to live in. Then she moved out and made up with Lorelai.

i would choose lane just because she is uhh more "normal" than Paris, don't get me wrong, i love Paris, just she can be a little "out there" and Lane has been Rory best friend forever.  She is just a "cool" chick if you ask me.

I like them both.  They both bring different aspects of life experiences to Rory's life.

Paris was a total pain in the first season when she was all about competing with Rory but she has grown as an individual through the seasons.  She's still a little zany but she's become more fun. 

Lane will always be Rory's friend, they've been best friends since childhood and can tell each other everything.  Lane is adventurous and rebellious than Rory has been.

I am undecided.   Angry
