So if the question was "who is a better friend to Rory, on the whole?" I think I'd go with Lane. They've had more of those "aww!" best-friend-y "lalalala" moments, and have more of a relationship that has built up.

However, who do I love more as a character, Paris or Lane, there I'd go with Paris. I love her. Every scene, every line, every word![/i]! I'm a total Geller-groupie.

I think they're both amazing, but Lane is her childhood best friend.  Paris is the girl I know she'll be sharing more and more experiences with, but she'll always come back to share them with Lane.  Character-wise, I do prefer Paris.  She's absolutely hilarious and incredible.

I agree with Beth: Lane and Rory have more history and more "bonding" moments than Paris and Rory, but the character of Paris is so much more interesting and entertaining to me.  I too think that we should have more scenes with both of those characters.  They've kind of been neglected of late, but now that Rory's going back to Yale hopefully we'll see more of Paris.

As a more interesting character, I choose Paris.  I wouldn't call her a better friend, but she is the one I would miss more if she were off the show.

Yeah, and the original question was "Who do you prefer?" and I happen to prefer Paris.  Not to say that Lane isn't great and a great friend; I just think Paris is more interesting and I love every scene she's in. That may partly be due to Liza Weil, who I think is amazing.  Smiley

Plus, Lane is usually acting like a lovesick preteen and, while Paris has had those moments3, she also concentrates on things other than boys, music and (pathetically) her best friends life. Like, oh yeah, academics.

I think that Lane is the best friend, well I like her slightly
better anyway. Paris is very funny...but Lane has a good sense of
humer too. I've always wanted a friend like Lane.
