Guidelines for the ORG Forum:
Please read the following rules before posting.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask a moderator.

1.  No Star Posting:
Please try to limit all star posting.  In short, star posting is when a user posts very short replies ... for example, "luke is sooo hottttt," "omg! jess!," "lol me 2," etc.  (Star posting gets its name from the fact that a user's "stars" can change depending how many posts he or she has made.)  Please don't simply post to boost your post count.  When you do post, please try and contribute well thought out sentences to each topic.  Exceptions are made for game threads.

2.  Duplicate Threads:
Before starting a new topic, please make sure that a similar one is not already available.  Duplicate, or even triplicate threads, make the ORG Forum confusing and slow down traffic.  You can check if a topic has already been created by using the Search function located on the top of the page.

3.  Correct Boards:
When opening a new topic, please make sure it is in the right board.
  • Example 1:  Game Topics ---> General Forum
  • Example 2:  LUKE IS A FLANNEL GOD! ---> Luke Thread in the Cast and Characters
  • Example 3:  I love episode _____ ---> Find the correct season in the Episode Discussions
  • Example 4:  I need a tape of _____ ---> The Tape Trading Thread in the General Discussion

4.  Correct Spelling:
No one on the ORG Forum will berate you for a few spelling mistakes, but it's in the best interest of all the ORG Forum users to at least attempt to use proper grammar and spelling. It's easier to read and understand for everyone.  Also, please refrain from typing in all caps.

5.  Be Nice and Have Fun:
Everyone here loves Gilmore Girls and should be able to enjoy a happy and fun posting environment.

A note from Heidi:  A special thanks to Vicks and Beth for taking the time to put these guidelines together.

I think this is a great idea. I was thinking about it, and now, this is just a suggestion, but I was thinking that maybe we should make it so that when someone registers, before they can post, the first thread the come to is this one, like after they hit submit, it takes them right to this thread, because I know alot of people are probably not going to read these. Just a suggestion, and good idea posting the Forum Rules again, I know there was alot of confusion.

I agree with Jaredloverforever. Most kids/teens wont take the time to read over these rules...I should know, I used to do that myself when I was younger. Grin

OMG thank you so much for re-posting the guidelines. I hope this will help out newbie's a bit. Ohh and can you please add the 'no spoilers outside the spoilerboard' rule, cause to newbies that's not so clear yet. And the karma thing, cause newbies tend to snark alot without reason to see what it does so.... that too might be handy. Again thanks so much for this thread. I'm pretty sticking you now.  Grin

LORELAI: Oh, don’t be embarrassed Snuffy, I’m just teasing. It’d be a Mets cap.
LUKE: Could you possibly leave me and little missus alone for just a minute?
Luke: Got a handful of Barbie.

I have a question, is there a limit on pages in a topic anymore?

No. I think someone said it somewhere in the Community Center

Yes I asked it on the community center. According to the mods we don't need to make new thread on this new forum. Great huh?! So less cludder on the board and on threads like the FSC-thread you can get one hugh laugh just reading the thread from the front to the back with one click.   Grin[/color]

I agree.  Perhaps as an example in #3 Correct Boards?

Also, what about double posting?  It's mentioned in the Episode Forum Guidelines, but not here.  Just a thought!.

I would say double posting is a no no, especially since it is better just to maybe add to your last post by editing it, and a double post can sometimes be seen as star posting. But people make mistakes, lord knows I have, so if it is a genuine mistake or it was absolutely necessary to double post then ok.
This is just a calculated guess/opinion, so anyone feel free to add anything etc.

I think sometimes you have to double post. For example on the FSC-thread. Some caps belong together and when you don't make them into another post it looks like they belong to the old post as well. Or when you already have a large post and want to add another large post....you can better make 2 large posts, then one really really big one about 2 subjects. But that's just how I view the star-posting thing. That if you post something very small and pointless, it's a no no. Or if you post something very small after another one of your posts.

I am of your opinion.  Sometimes, a double post makes sense...w/ different topics and each post has several paragraphs.  Other times, it is obvious star posts with only one line comments.
