Well good evening fellow Midwesterners!

Katie LOVE the pictures! Thanks for sharing! The one of you at the talen show is awesome! Smiley What did you do for the talen show?

Congrats to you on the 300th post!! I can only DREAM of hitting 300, 100 much less 300! haha Cheers to you~

Melissa I can't believe how much we have in common! It's almost scary! One of my very best friends from SMU was PSEO from Rosemount. She was saying the same thing about PSEO students! You're very lucky to have had the chance to take college courses! I guess it's more popular and easy to do now! You must be a smart one...I couldn't have done that when I was high school! Way to go!

And Duluth...what an amazing portion of land! I have always wanted to get married either on a pier reaching out into the lake or the Glensheen (sp?) mansion on the belcony outside over looking the gardens! What a beautiful picutre that would be! EEEEE!!!

I think having a map of where everyone is located on the first post of the thread would be great! And then a list of where everyone is from and perhaps their 'real' name (if they want) next to their screen name?! I get confused with so many different people! Maybe I can manage to remember the Midewestern porition of the site! Smiley

You do have wonderful and very creative signatures that say SO much! I love doing computer graphics! I used to run websites myself but stopped due to time and resources. I am learning a lot with Photoshop myself (yes, mine are all made myself as well) as I used to work with Paintshop Pro. I'm sure we can learn from each other...no competition here! I do enjoy trying to be creative! Looks like you've got it mastered though!  Grin

Thanks again Melissa, this thread will be so much fun!!! SO MUCH FUN!

Welcome home! (I can guarntee this will be your new home) Just kidding! You know what is funny, I said the same thing to the other Melissa when she got to 2,800 posts. And I believe she said (so modestly) "Oh, really! I didn't even notice. Don't worry you will get there someday." So Melissa(sooks) I say to you: Don't worry you will get there some day!

I am on the student government. Our theme was hollywood. I actually have a formal gown on. I ran the sound for the entire show. I love it. Melissa(Mas) did I ever tell you that I want to be a first grade teacher

Hang in there, I'm sure you'll do fine!  What is the presentation about? I know a handful of our school board members and they are really cool.  What is sad is that there meetings are normally quite empty, yet they are broadcast THOUSANDS of times on local bacle, so hang in there gal!  (not to make it worse, but it's the truth!) Normally they are all educators, or past educators and they will be perfectly fine to you!  BUT WHAT WERE YOU THINKING THERE IS A NEW EPISODE TONIGHT?!?!

Will reply to all laters and I Hope to get to fixing the 1st post this week!  I need to brainstorm a bit first![/color]

Yes Katie, I agree completely! You'll do wonderfully, but what were you thinking volunteering on a Gilmore Girls night?!  Shocked haha

I have to say that I am not looking forward to the next semester to begin as I have a class on Tuesday nights in Minneapolis and I won't get home until WAY after the show is over! Sad Sad Sad I have a friend recording the epsidoes but it's really not the same, it totally takes away the excitement of Tuesday nights! haha Oh well...at least I get to see them eventually! Thank goodness for good friends!

I do have a question...I apologize if this is no the place to ask (I'm feeling really lazy tonight for some reason) so you may scold me if I'm behaving badly tonight! I just was wondering what thread (if any) is okay to talk about anything, how excited you are about the new show tonight, what you're doing in life, how you hate to study and wish you were done with school, ask questions about other members in hopes of getting to know them better? I have seen some of this in various threads, I just want to make sure I'm following the correct rules, there aren't many, so I definitely want to follow them, and moreso, would HATE to have people dislike me because I wasn't doing as I am supposed to. So any help is MUCH appreciated.

I really just wanted to say how excited I am that we see yet another new espisode of Gilmore Girls tonight! (I'm sure that's a common statement around here but had to say it to someone!)

I have a lot of studying to do tonight so have a wonderful night my dear Midwestern friends! Smiley

Hello, everyone!

Oh, boy, Katie -- what have you gotten yourself into!  Wink  Ha - the cool thing is by the time you read this post it will be all over and you won't have to worry about it anymore.   Cool  I hope you were able to find someone to record GG for you.  I  Hearts my DVR!

Sooks - I am VERY excited there's a new epi tonight as well!  Bummer you have a class on Tuesdays next semester.  What are you studying?  As far as talking about things:  well, I don't know if you read spoilers or not (I DO!  I DO!), but if you are "spoiler free", you qualify to be a Spree.  In their thread, they go into great detail about their lives to distract themselves from reading spoilers!  I now defer you to the "other" Melissa in MN, MasBYUgal.  She is a certified Spree and can fill you in!  There's also an off-topic thread.  Perhaps this thread can be like that, because other international threads are.  Not sure.

Ha - I love this thread so far!  Reading back, I find us "midwesterners" funny - we're so detailed-oriented as we try to teach everyone about where we live!  I love it!!!

Michelle - I think we're all quite similar as well...not just detail oriented, but also friendly, it seems people in this thread (I haevn't read other international threads) are so into what is going on with other people too, not just themselves! It's a wonderful thread! And thanks for the pointers about the off-topic posting. I really don't need to post much off-topic, Gilmore Girls really takes most of my life up! haha I just thought I'd ask first, so thanks much! I'm studying for my BS in Human Resources Management and then onto my Master's degree. My Tuesday night class is only 7 weeks long so that isn't terrible but long enough... Sad

Melissa (the expert) - is it your vision to allow us to talk about anything within this thread or are there limits?

What else is common among Midwesterners? I know many people would say their accents or the way they talk...
Most love the outdoors, do you?
What else do we all have in common?? (My mind isn't working well tonight)

Yup, and as you could see all of my stalking...we continue to have much more in common. Now to get a little more freaky, what years were you at SMU in Winona?  Also, I'm curious Huh how someone from Rosemount was doing PSEO at SMU?  Oh but I guess it's not that strange, I mean I was from Winona at MSU in Mankato...lol!  My silly family moved during my senior year, maybe it was the same for her too!

Will do, I think I'll take down some of my MN pride stuff and maybe mention Midwest a bit more prominently in the title of the thread....how's that sound guys.   Kiss

Lol, myne too....but self taught.   :nod:I just started fiddling one day and I've known bits for photo stuff!  In fact I have the coolest PHotoshop Elements book for digital photographers, and I learned this weekend how to restore old photos that are full of dust and scratch marks. It is so cool and how to manually sharpen photos, because well here's saying it..the auto command just doesn't too the trick.  I do love seeing all of your sigs, it's like a new one each day!!

Cool to both!  Teacher rocks, my sister-in-law teaches 1st grade!  She is incredible with those oh so needy 1st graders! I prefere middle school the best, but high school is good too!  It is nice that the grade schoolers love you though, I guess I'm more of a fan of the love-hate relationship....yet my students love me!  Wink  Roll Eyes I mean how couldn't they?  *sticks big nose in the air*

I hear ya, a couple of tuesdays a month, I take care of the 8-11 year-old girls for activity nights at church.  I do miss the 'live' like element...but it is nice to 'race' thru the adds when I get home.

Me too, but did anyone else get that announcement scrolling across the screen that this network might not carry the CW anymore?!  What Did anyone else freak out, just like me and not even caught the convo that was happening at the time!  Wall  I'm so FREAKING out  :fight:and about ready to write a flaming letter about how many shows I enjoy on the CW!  I think I'm going to cry, please say it ain't so!!!!!!

Lol, I'm an expert.  Coolness....I guess I was kind of envisioning it along the lines of the spree thread.  Lots of length and meat to our posts, we can get to know each other really well as long as keep up with MINNESOTA/MIDWESTERN events.  Like the big snow storm on the way...lol!

Did anyone else have thunder and lightening this morning? Lightning, it was nuts.  Luckily the school I work at had a late start date today and I was in the shower and the thunder was shaking the house!  Crazy huh?  It's almost December and thunder storms?  GO figure?

Okay, we need to do something so know one confuses the two of us Sooks.  I mean we could always call you Sooks, but I think first names are so important if everyone is comfortable enough to share them.  Everyone can call me Mel Smiley if you want and we can call you Melissa.  I've NEVER BEEN A BIG Missy fan, unless you are?.....Lets figure something out...

I will respond to your responses after the show...but wanted to suggest that I could go by MEL as that is what my friends call me. I am totally fine with Sooks as well...wouldn't have picked the name without loving it! It would be an honor! Smiley I don't think people will get us confused if I just call you "Expert Melissa" or "Goddess Melissa" or "Marvalous Melissa" - I've seen it more than once, people here hold you in high regards, and with great reason...but seriously, I'll be happy to go by "Mel" or "Sooks" either one! LOL!  Whatever ever is fine!  ROFL!  I love the expert one, lol!  Whatever works, we can call you Mel.  Some here call me that too, but it doesn't matter, I've never really had a nickname.  Well, that's a lie...my dad who HATES nicknames would call me Mat(my previous initials) when we were close family friends with another Melissa. I'm curious as to what adjective might keep coming before my name, this could get quite entertaining. I'm game!  Wink
