I can't believe Lorelai married Chris. No offence to Chris or anything but I like Luke a lot more. And the part where Lorelai goes to the hospital to see April, and Luke sees the ring on Lorelai's finger he was so surprised.

I thought that this episode was okay. I didn't like that Chris wanted to change things and not leave it all alone like the Gilmore girls had it. I swear he makes everything about him. If I was Rory I would feel the same way that Rory felt when she found out about the marriage. I also hated that Gigi was going to move into Rory's room and that it was going to be different. I was so upset with Logan when he got onto Rory's case about the paper she had writtne, but in the end they made up, which made everything all good. I loved that Lorelai met up with Luke to make sure April was okay. I felt bad how Luke had to find out that Lor got married, but it was either him seeing the ring or him hearing it off the streets of Stars Hollow. Poor Luke! And Omg, I wish someone could take a straightner to April's hair or something. Too much friz and curls. Sorry, I don't like April. And Omg, I could not believe that Chris was alright with Lor going over to see Luke. I hate that Chris and Lor are going to paint Rory's room pink! Well that's all my complaints. As I said, It was a okay episode.

Life is about changes and in the past seven years a lot of things have changed on the Gilmore Girls. If things had stayed the same from the first season then Lorelai would've been with Max for the last six years and she and Luke would've never gotten together. And when things change with people, their living situations have to reflect that. When Lorelai and Luke were engaged he was going to move into her home and they renovated the place. With Lorelai and Christopher now married, naturally he was going to have to bring some of his things into the home. At the beginning of this season we saw Luke making adjustments for April to be living with him: April took him to Target and they got new accessories for his apartment. Christopher is doing the same thing in Lorelai's home.

While I think that he could've been less presumptuous about Gigi moving into Rory's bedroom and how to decorate the room, I don't see the actual idea as a bad thing as I think it shows that he is a committed father to Gigi and that he is thinking about her and incorporating her into his new life even if she isn't with him at the immediate moment. He is planning ahead for her for when she comes home from Paris after spending time with Sherry.

As for Rory, beyond coming home on the weekends or for some time here and there through the summer, would she actually be moving back to the Gilmore house after she graduates? Not likely, especially if she wants to be a journalist and Logan has a new place in New York City. The likelihood of Rory getting a job as a journalist is much higher in New York City than in Stars Hollow.

Actually Yale is in New Haven.  So, if my admittedly shabby understanding of geography (including fictional towns) is correct, New Haven is closer to Hartford than it is to Stars Hollow.

Hi wcshortcakes03!

I'm pretty new to this forum, so please don't take my word as written in stone.
I believe that the place you're needing to go to find information about catching last week's episode is over to this thread...http://www.gilmoregirls.org/forum/index.php?topic=5260.0 a tape trading thread.
I could be totally wrong, so don't take my word for it...but that's what I gathered you were wanting from your post.
I hope you enjoy your time here! It's a wonderful place to land! Smiley

(Someone with expertise, please correct me if I'm wrong! Just trying to help a little where I can.)

Just a nit-picky point, but how long has April been staying with Luke?  I thought when Anna dropped her off, she said it would be around 2 weeks.  It's a bit hard to guage exactly how much time has passed, but I think it's at least 2 months.  I know Anna's mom is sick, but that seems like an awfully long time to leave April for.

Also, did I miss when April first started calling Luke "dad"?  It seemed to me like out of the blue she started calling him that in this episode (or perhaps in the one before).  That's seems like a big step for someone who at first saw finding her father as a science project, but I don't believe there was any discussion of it in the show.

Well it is definitely more than 2 weeks.  April went to Luke's in 7.04.  Then, at least a few days had passed between then, when Lorelai and Chris started dating, and 7.05 when they go to dinner as a couple at E and R's. Then 7.06 has to at least be the next week, because they went to friday night dinner in the end of 7.05 and then mentioned Rory's parents weekend as being the NEXT weekend, and that is the episode that shows them saying that they are going to Paris in two weeks.  That's 3 weeks for sure, plus the extra time between 7.04 and 7.05 (which I would assume to be at least a week because if Lorelai and Chris went out on a date on the weekend in 7.04, it would have to be at least a week until the next Friday dinner in 7.05).

That's right, folks.  Measure your life in Friday Night Dinners.

I don't like that Chris just started to move Rory's things out of her room.  It just shows that he doesn't think of lorelai and rory's feelings before he does things as precedented throughout the series.  It's great that he is thinking of GiGi but he's always put his agenda and thoughts first.  This is why he has in the past always quickly yelled at lorelai when she expressed her thoughts and was quick to leave to do his plan and not do right by lorelai and rory.  even this year, in the season finale and the first epi of this season, on the wall of his apartment was a photo montage of gigi, what about a picture of rory?
To just move things without thinking lorelai might be upset and discussing it first, just shows a bit of his selfish nature.  I know he's tried to be stand up, but I am not sure he knows how and Lorelai deserves better.

Well put mo-gilmore.  I also noticed that photo montage of Gigi in his apartment, but no pictures of Rory anywhere.  I really hate how he's moving Rory's stuff out to make room for Gigi.

Well, he and Rory haven't been really close. Maybe he doesn't have a bunch of pictures of Rory. Gigi seems to know about Rory, and was "psyched" about moving in, so I must assume he talks to someone about it.

The 'surprise redecoration' makes perfect sense if, as Christopher believed, Rory was thrilled about Christopher and Georgia moving in.

True, I guess if Rory is cool with Chris redecorating her room, then it doesn't matter.  What I don't really understand though, is why did they need to do it in this episode?  How long is Gigi going to be in France? I mean, they came home from Paris and immediately they are moving stuff around.  Why not settle in first and then figure things out?  Gigi doesn't need the room until she comes home.  They don't need to rush things.  Hmm, that sort of goes hand-in-hand with rushing marriage.

I feel a need to jump in and defend Christopher over the room redecorating thing, even though I know most people will disagree.  I'm looking at things from Chris's perspective.  First, he turned his whole life in Hartford upside down to move in with Lorelai, which presumably is further from his work and would probably involve changing Gigi's school (when she returns).  He's also moving into a house that has always been just Lorelai's and Rory's, which is awkward enough, plus the house clearly was decorated by two women. The only things he asks are for a flat screen TV (ok I'm not a fan of big TVs either, but he's a guy!) and a room for his kid.  This sounds pretty reasonable to me.  I mean the house only does have 2 bedrooms, where would people have Gigi sleep? I don't think it's fair to Gigi that her room be a shrine to Rory.

I concede that perhaps Chris went about it the wrong way and should have spoken to Rory first, but he's still feeling his way through this new relationship with Rory and Lorelai and is bound to make some errors in judgment.  Plus, Rory and Lorelai aren't helping him much by still treating him as an outsider (i.e. when they didn't tell him that Rory was unhappy about the elopement).  He can't make things right if he doesn't know something is wrong in the first place.

The other thing I was thinking about is that the exact same issue would have come up had Lorelai and Luke lived in the house together, because they would have needed Rory's room for a future baby.  Getting married and living together are complicated things, especially when grown children and step children are involved.  I think Chris should be cut a little slack.  And perhaps they might consider purchasing a 3 bedroom house in Starrs Hollow!
