Does anyone know what that black and white TV show that was that Luke was watching when it faded out? I agree with the above post that in it the man was conveying to the woman that she would have her beautiful and perfectly planned out wedding and "everything would go as planned"... and he was having a moment where he thought it should be his ring on Lorelai's finger.

If anyone knows what that show was (if it was a real TV show), please post it!  Cheesy

I agree with everyone posting who has already seen tonight's episode:

We knew what happened last week, and again, the current writer has Lorelai 1) getting married and not being sure, 2)taking all kinds of crap from her daughter for getting married, gee, all  on her own, to her father. I KNOW YOULL ALL SAY, SHE WANTED TO BE THERE, TOO BAD, 3) the worst problem is Christoper's insensitivity to L & R's bond re R's room among other things. taking over, not recognizing that L has kept her house a certain way all these years, and, now the tv's?  It's a symbol of his not getting L, ever.
Why is L so apologetic? I remember the pilot - the POINT WAS THAT LORELAI GIMORE INSISTS ON BEING HERSELF.
We've lost that.

The movie at the end was something with Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn.  Holiday maybe?

the movie luke saw at the end was a movie called The Philadelphia Story (made in 1940), which starred Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, & James Stewart. i forgot the whole plot, but basicaly a women broke up with one guy, had a thing with another, and ended up marrying the original guy. and her "thing" guy got another girl too, and everyone was happy.  i think luke wants that to happen. for L&L to be married, like "originaly planned." wouldn't that be great?

The Philadelphia Story with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant, wherein KH actually does end up with her ex-husband on the eve of her wedding to another.
Obviously, we'll not have the pleasure on GG.

I really liked this one. The only downer was that they are going to change Rory's room around for Gigi. They shouldn't change it. Other than that, I thought it was good. Definitely one of the better of the season. I did catch the Major English Poets thing too - she took that class in season 4. I guess the other detail that has been bugging me is that April says her uncle helped her with the DNA test - yet Anna told Rory at the boutique that day that she had "only child syndrome". How can she have an uncle? Have you guys already discussed this? I mean, I'm far past thinking that its all a hoax or something, but that just seems like a detail ASP didn't pay attention to.

I realize that had nothing to do with this ep. but someone else brought up a detail flaw so I thought I'd offer that up as well.

sigh..

its just so so sad...

i dont even know what to do or say... i cried at the end..  i just feel so ripped apart by the whole situation. and i hate logan. and chris. so.. when are we going to kill them!!!!???

i think this episode was boring and sucky. and logans a big fat overprivaledged baby.

next weeks looks boring and sucky as well.

the future of gilmore girls looks boring and sucky, unless some preview somehwere has lorelai and luke making out.

personally, i dont want lorelai to be with luke anymore! she doesnt deserve him! she deserves to be alone! what am i saying... lor and i are exactly alike, well.. im not slutty. but.. i dont know.. i know luke still loves her.. and i want what luke wants. because he reminds me of the love of my life. maybe this is why i am so passionate about the breakup.

here's the movie summary, if it helps.

"Haughty divorced socialite Tracy Lord is preparing for her second marriage. Enter Dexter Haven, her first husband, and Macaulay Connor, a tabloid reporter with a distrust of the wealthy. What follows is a rapid-fire war of words as the two men try to help Tracy discover the heart beneath her holier-than-thou exterior."

i misssed last week and the whole thing this week except the last 7 minutes. i have no idea what's going on. Sad this sucks.

Can I just say I love your sig, ~*emily*~ ! Really nice.

I have yet to watch this episode, but it sounds good! I know a lot of you didn't like it, but I want to see L/C have communcation problems and argue. If L/L can't be together, I'm gonna have to thrive off of L/C's problems.

I look forward to the L/L hospital scene, although, since I'm such a Luke girl, I don't think I'll be able to stand the look on Luke's face.

Lorelai - that bitch.  Angry

Harsh, I know. Just let me revel in my harshness.

Seven Super Seasons!

I actually think that this was one of the better episodes in season 7. Just putting my Luke/Christopher opinions aside and just focusing on the episode I thought that that writing was a lot better.  We are finally starting to see a story line come out.  I mean this epiode was just not the same blah blah.  We actually see the characters have emotions and portray their emotions in their acting, something that we haven't seen in a while (with the the acception of Loerlai).  I kind of enjoyed the little mini subplots.

I thought that the April and Luke story was very relaistic.  Here is a man whose preteen daughter is basically in his life for the first time and he has to deal with "girl" issues such as the girl gossip, the party, they boys, and the kissing.  And as mad as April gets at her father for him not letting her go to the party, he is still there for her when she needs him when she is sick.   Luke is turing out to be a rally good father and I think that he is enjoying parenting.

I also liked the Lorelai and Rory disaggrement.  I really understand both sides to the story.  Lorelai didn't want to tell Rory because she is miss pro con list maker and such a deep thinker that she would have subconsciencously talked Loerlai out of it.  And I can also totally understand Rory's being upset.  I mean, take our famouse quote "best friends first, mother and daughter second."  These two have such a great relationship that it almost seems impossible to me for Lorelai not to tell Rory.  But then again, I do understand that she wants to get on with her life.  Their arguement acutally brought some emotion into the show.

And what Chris and Lorelai were going throught with the house.  The high defination flat screen TVs in every room, a waterfall, and transforming Rory's room into Gigi's room.  This is all very relaistic stuff that married couples go through.  It is all about compromise.

I have more of a general comment to point out and that is poor Gigi.  Here her mother left when she was young and she hasn't herd from in a few years and then all of the sudden she goes to another country to spend a few months with her.  And then she will move back to the States only to find that her daddy got married and she is living in a new town, in a new house, and is sharing a bedroom with a 22 year old.  (I know that that is exacterating it a bit, but basically...)

So all in all I am looking forward next weeks episode.

I am so mad right now I'm supprised holes are not going through the key board. I am typing so loudly and harshly, it's very not me. But do I give a care? No. Not at all. Now for my rant. And amazingly enough I said all this during comericals, I talk fast. I talked to noone, since I watched it alone, but did that stop me? Of course not. I yelled and screamed and cried at the end. Ready, set, rant.  Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Wall Wall Wall Smash Smash Smash Fight Fight Fight Fight

How in the heck could she do this? I've never hated Lorelai so much in my life. Ever. This season is seriously going down-hill. And I agree, next week dosent look much better. All I can hope is that Jackson give Christopher pure HELL.
Lorelai's all "I'm sorry. I wanted to wait but-" WHO CARES? YOU SHOULD HAVE WAITED.
Rory's all "It's okay that you're married, but I wanted to be there!" NO IT'S NOT UNDER ANY CIRCOMSTANCES OKAY. YOU GOT MARRIED TO THE WRONG GUY. YOU STUPID, STUPID WOMAN. But at this point does she even diserve to be called a woman? Going off to Paris and marrying the father of your daughter who's about to graduate college even though he ran out on you when you got pregnant at 16 and ended up running away to Stars Hollow and raising that daughter all the while having many previous encounters then finally getting some sense knocked into you and falling in love with the diner owner who you worship for giving you coffee and has secretly beenpining for you since they day you met and then finally getting engaged and giving him an ultimatium which he turned down (wich I admitt was bad and not admitting he had a daughter was bad but thats another problem, another rant) causing you to go and SLEEP with your daughter father who left you to raise her when you got her pregnant at 16 IS NOT VERY RESPONSIBLE!!!! AND WOMEN ARE RESPONSIBLE!!!! YOU ARE NOT!!!!! LORELAI GILMORE YOU ARE A TRUE DISGRASE TO WOMEN EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I have calmed down. A little. I do believe that was the longest sentence I have ever written. On the other side of the bar....... I'm thrilled Logan is re-locating to New York. Rory's piece was a little extreme but it happens. At least the fight didn't last long. Also, No Michel- boo. No Paul-Anka- boo. No Sookie- boo. No Paris- boo. No Lane- boo. Poor April. I hope she feels better. As for right now....Lorelai, go to hell.

I think I'm one of the only ones that actually liked this ep judging from the responses so far. It cleared up for me Lorelai's thinking on the wedding which felt too unexplained last episode. So it's not being married to Chris that she was sad and unsure about at the end credits last ep, but it was solely about realizing she -was- married and Rory wasn't there with her. She seems quite content with her decision as long as Rory is supporting her.

I don't mind Chris in Stars Hollow at this point in time. He seems very willing to make things work even though his lifestyle and her lifestyle are quite different and he wants to turn the house into a flatscreen tv showroom. I don't think he's being over the top trying to get his own comfort level since much of his suggestions he willingly ditched and he's pushing more flatscreens as a joke. It is his living space too now, and Lorelai, as is typical of her, just didn't think of the logistics of him putting his influence in it. I don't think Chris will be pushy about decorating. If Lorelai doesn't like his ideas, he'll modify.

Did he sulk about Lorelai not wanting Rory's room changed? Or was he sad because he knew his daughter wasn't as supportive of the wedding as she let on?

I didn't expect the anticipated Luke/Lorelai interaction to be so.. casual. I thought Luke would try to call a lot of people first but he didn't even blink when he called Lorelai first, and she didn't at all seem surprised he called. Kind of took the impact right out of it. There should have been more.

I don't hate the Tweedles as much now they they seem to be performing an actual function in Rory's life and aren't as much the bubbleheads I thought they were going to be.

Why the Logan hate? The boy has done far worse in his past than legitimately get upset over Rory's article (which was clarified as actually being mean by Olivia and Lucy). He never told her she couldn't live there anymore. He just pointed out her hypocrisy and she made her own decisions based on it.

So overall, I thought this episode was going to have a bit more controversy in it. It seems the trials and tribulations of the L/C married life have yet to start. Right now the overall tone still seems favorable towards them. I'm not an L/L shipper (or any shipper for that matter), but I do think that is where this show is going. I just expected it to be going that way a little quicker. I really thought April's sickness was going to be a catalyst to Luke and Lorelai getting together and actually talking a bit.

I enjoyed watching this ep and now have more to wonder and ponder about for the rest of the season.
