I thought it was really sweet the way Christopher offered to live in Stars Hollow with her even after one of the townies punched him in the face.

Lessa: Does this refer to a spoiler b/c I don't remember seeing this in the commercial for this weeks epi?

I was talking about during the proposal, when he was talking about their life together and how he would live anywhere with her. He mentioned Stars Hollow.

Oh Ok, I don't remember...I can't imagine him in Stars Hollow. The two just don't go together. Not that I have anything against him, I just don't see him as a small town kinda guy and I definitely don't see the towns people welcoming him as nicely as they did last time now with what happened btwn L/L.

Yikes. I agree. I wonder where the Hayden clan will reside for the time they're involved in this pitiful waste of a sacrament. 

I'm hoping that if Chris and Gigster move into the Gilmore house it will bring up all kinds of painful Luke-was-supposed-to-be-here memories for Lorelai. Call me cold-hearted, but it's what I'm hoping. Call me crazy, but I think it'll happen.

I agree with you there AbFab when you say that Chris doesnt really come across small town-ish. Not that there is a dress code or a certain personality trait necessary for successful life in Stars Hollow, but I think that since the town had, for so long, been rooting for Luke and Lorelai, Chris will get a bit of a cold should. At least for a while.

Oh, and maybe he'll find it hard to adjust. Because I realize that my last paragraph was sort of contradicting. I just think that the townies will have trouble accepting his as a permanent (Oh, you wish!) figure in Lorelai's life for at least the first little while. But I think it'll all boil down to the townies "loving Lorelai so much that we have to accept whatever decision she's made for herself. As long as she's happy."

Happy? I'm sorry? Yeah, right. Because after a wedding, you're supposed to look like you saw your parents getting it on by the pool and are now forced to eat an hour-long dinner with them. Not so much.

You know what I just noticed? The France-Spur-Of-The-Moment-"Oh-I'm-So-In-Love-In-The-City-Of-Love"-Let's-Get-Married! was used twice in television - as far as I know - this year.

Taylor Whatsherface from The O.C married some French guy in France over the summer, and now is left with the reprecussions and the clean-up.

Gilmore girls - same idea.

It's kind of disappointing, actually, that this storyline is used twice. I just - I mean, it seems so weak now that I think about it. Overplayed, really.

I just thought of that and it annoyed me.

Yeah, I noticed it too, although I doubt either set of writers were aware of the other's storyline. Beware all who go to Paris!!
And on Chris saying Rory would be happy for them --since in the Go Bulldogs epi it showed clearly that Chris doesn't know his daughter all that well, why would Lorelei be persuaded by Chris that it would be okay with Rory if they got married without her being there, giving her blessing ahead etc??? Perhaps Paris made her lose all sense

The prospect of living under a Luke-built roof with Christopher might force her to reevaluate her decisions, or it could be the possibility of leaving Stars Hollow.
We all know it'll be something but it's getting to be like an oncoming train - that happier Lorelai gets with him, the worse the breakup will be, and I'm glad they haven't built her up as perfectly thrilled with her comfort relationship going permanent.

I always have hated all of Lorelai's boyfriends except Luke. Luke was the good guy who always was there for her and she was there for him. I now have to hate all of Lorelai's boyfriends except Luke and her new HUSBAND! I know Lorelai isn't sure about Chris but I know Lorelai still loves Luke because since the beginning they have been meant for each other. I can't stand Christopher and I know I have quite a few people to back me up on this.

We don't have evidence of that, exactly. I personally believe that they've had a thing since the beginning, but we don't know that they've been meant to be from the get go. And furthermore, we don't know that Lorela is still in love with Luke.

Part of the reason we don't know if Lorelai is over Luke yet (which I don't think she is personally) is because Lorelai has been avoiding him.  We already saw the look on her face at the end of the episode after Christopher called her Mrs. Hayden, but it will be interesting to see how she reacts when she sees Luke for the first time in Stars Hollow again.  She has been avoiding her life in Stars Hollow for a reason.  She doesn't want to see Luke. She only bumped into Luke a couple times shortly after they broke up, but it was also before she started seeing Chris. If she wants to continue to live in Stars Hollow with Chris, she is going to need to face Luke at some point, even if he's "just the guy who pours her coffee".   This is why I think she jumped into the relationship with Chris too soon. She should have been "over" Luke first, and if she wanted to continue her life in a small town like Stars Hollow, she would have had to face him again before letting go, if that is what she wanted.  I can't believe Christopher never realized this.  Why would he want to be with Lorelai thinking she's the one for him, but be on the rebound of a major break up with someone she wanted to marry?

rory isn't editor of the paper anymore because she's a senior. it was mentioned that there are yale daily news laws or something. there's probably a certain amount of time before the editor graduates that they have to step down for the new editor.

ummm...what about Doyle though.   I really don't think that this is something Dave R. needed to put in there.  It kinda makes scence a little, but just have Rory have like a shadow or something.

Has this already been covered?  Rory stepping down makes sense.  Talking to my brother's girlfriend who was the Editor In Chief at her university paper said that Rory moving aside for the new editor is plausible.  The new editors in chief are chosen because they are the best suited for the position, know the inner workings of the paperl, and have been instrumental throughout publication.  These folks don't really need to shadow.  They do need to get in and rejigger things to their liking and start taking control before the old Editor leaves should anything come up.

something else that bothered me... When Rory was giving her little farewell speech at the paper there was only a handful of people around.  It takes way more than 6 people to put together a daily college newspaper.  And also when Paris had her little meltdown about everyone who was in the room "stabbing her behind her back when she was the editor"- her little speech really didnt pretain to half the people in there.  Only one face from the Yale Daily News staff looked familar from season 6 when Paris was taken off as editor.  As a matter of fact some of the staff are freshmen (remember the episode the week before) so they really had no clue what Paris was ranting  and raving about.  ...Just something that annoyed me!

I took these folks to be the managing editors, not the reporters, staff, photogs, etc.

I know we are not supposed to discuss spoilers here... so well.... no talk about that...
but this is what I think...
Rory does seem to have got a jolt to know that Marty has moved on, now he is somebody's boyfriend and she has realized that at one time when she used to be the closest friend he had she did not give him his due...
I mean, when somebody is that close they generally end up having a normal boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. But this did not happen with Rory and Marty.
What will really happen... it's everybody's guess.....

Now, Rory, though she knows him well, she has to act like she has met him the first time. Is she good at keeping secrets?
Who can answer that?
And what is Lorelai's take on this?
Let's wait and watch.

im thinking that even though rory doesn't seem into him now, when her and logan get into a fight or when she gets drunk or something like that, they will get together,and we know marty will want to, because we all can tell that marty is still in luv with rory

I am so sick of Christopher ruining Lorelai's life just when it was going good. Luke was still trying to process, but they would have worked it out. Why did she go to christopher!!?!?!! That jsut burns me so much! I don't get it!

Christopher always has had bad timing.
