Balcony Buddies (Lorelai and Chris) - Genes don't lie

I realized we didn't already have a thread for Lorelai and Christopher, and reading through episode discussion threads, it seems like there's a few fans who think they're all alone. While we're definitely in the minority, there are others who think, like you do, that Christopher is a better match for Lorelai.

What it comes down to for me is the security they seem to feel around each other, and how Christopher is always there for Lorelai now. Obviously, he wasn't there when Lorelai needed him the most- when Rory was born- but it seems clear to me, at least, that it was her need for independence that caused him to take off. He offered her that marriage and commitment, but she wasn't ready to settle down.

Now, it's clear both have matured but haven't really grown apart, and I don't think anyone knows Lorelai as well as Chris, aside from maybe Rory, and it works the other way as well. They compliment each other, and their chemistry is undeniable. And we already know their babies will grow up to be beautiful.

I'll edit with reasons and all of that when we... have them, lol.

Just want to clarify.  Is this a shipper thread?  I mean, for people who specifically like them together in a romantic/couple sense?

Well, not necessarily. It's for anyone who likes the dynamic between them, whether it's romantic or friendship. I noticed a growing trend on the episode discussion thread where people seemed uncomfortable to admit they liked Chris and Lorelai together in any dynamic (or scared to, lol), and I wanted a place to "fix that." So if you like them together romantically or as friends, you're welcome to post here. It's an appreciation thread, though, so only posts respectful of their relationship (whatever you consider it) are accepted.

Okay, good.  Because I do like them as friends.  I still think that out of all the male actors Lauren Graham has been with, she has more chemistry with David Sutcliffe than anyone.  And, when there aren't any issues to deal with, Christopher and Lorelai are just fun together.  Like them dancing in Presenting Lorelai Gilmore, or even Christopher Returns when they turn a discussion on maturity into an argument about bands.  I don't really being a couple is in the cards for them, but I definitely want Christopher to remain a part of Lorelai's life.  They speak the same language.

My views on them as a couple are kind of.... conflicted. Because I think if Lorelai "has" to end up with a guy on the show (and it seems like they won't be bringing in a new love interest), Christopher is the one who seems most compatible with her. But I think in another sense, the magic behind them is that they aren't in some heavy romantic relationship, and they've sort of overcome who they were as teenagers, and what was expected of them and so on. But if I had to choose between Luke, Max, etc. as the best match for Lorelai... Christopher by far, for me. He's the only one she actually seems comfortable around.

I love Chris and Lorelai together. They have such a strong bond.....after all, they are each others history. You can never replace nor deny your first love. Although I want Luke and Lorelai to end up together....i dont think Chris and lorelai are bad together either.

I'm totally not afraid to admit I like Chris and Lor together!! They have so much history. I think I cried at the end of season 2 when I found out Sherrie was pregnant, she drives me nuts, but that's irrelevant I guess. I just think that Chris and Lorelai work so well together and it just makes sense that when it all comes down to it, they would end up together, they have Rory together for heaven sake!

Yeah.... I was planning to do this but I didn't really want to come up with a list on my own since I thought that should be threadwide, you know? If you think of any reasons, post them and I'll start adding stuff after my party tonight.

whoa its been a while since anyone posted on this thread. so i will contuine it....I found this over at Fanforum ....I guess one of the girls was just referring to Lorelai and chris and I just really liked it so id thought Id share:

It's not about running in different circles. It's about the realization that there are more possibilities in life than the one's we choose to accept. Life is sort of like Jelly Beans with a **** load of possibilties. Including such situations as unresolved issues with someone that you never had closure with. There might not be enough closure in real-life, but whose fault is that really? Nevertheless, if a woman can remarry someone, that left her distitute and homeless. Anything, in life, including Lorelai and Chris schluppin, can happen.

dont really know what the homeless thing is all about but i liked what she said just the same.

Do you think its possible to have two great loves? Like with Lorelai...Chris and then Luke? Is it possible to love someone else as much as your first love? ( sorry if i am getting all philosophical on ya all.....I had a weird day)
