Rory: Look how you just said, "Luke can waltz."
Lorelai: What, I'm just saying, I'm surprised that Luke can waltz.
Rory: That sounded more like, "I'm surprised I still have my clothes on."

After the initial shock of it, Paris' relationship with Asher made sense. Paris is intellectually advanced and i can see her falling for someone who is not only older but in her eyes a brilliant man. In a way her feelings for him were pure; she idolized him so much that she hardly noticed how old he was until he had the heart attack.

Jamie was a great guy & really deserved someone better, by which i mean someone who would not treat him like crap. Paris was just as brazen about dumping him as she has been in other areas of her life. At that point in her development, i think Paris needed a guy like Asher because no mere lesser mortal could meet her standards.

I can't believe that Paris is part of a cute couple, but with Doyle that's how it comes across. They have a great rapport & Doyle understands her & is patient with her. That could be another way of saying he is whipped, but he seems perfectly content in that situation.

I kinda liked her and Asher together, I thought they were a great match. She's absolutley adorable with Doyle though, she finally became more loose, if you know what I mean?

So she slept with a man 40 years her senior & gave him a heart attack. Woo-hoo! That's living! Well, for Paris i suppose it is.

And, hey, Asher is English. Another baaaaaaaaaad European corrupting an innocent American? (I assume you count England as part of Europe.)

 Cool

Ok, don't want to stir up any international incident.  Smiley  Enough bad things happening in the world.

Let's just say: Asher, may he Rest In Peace.

LOL - they did not really explore the idea that Paris lead Asher to an early grave, did they? Seems like that could have been looked into. And if Doyle dies young, we'll know something is going on for sure.

In an early episode Rory tells Paris that she is going to give herself a heart attack one of these days. Now we know the truth: she gives heart attacks. And that makes sense. She lets every emotion come pouring out, keeps nothing bottled up. Very healthy for herself, but not for the people on the receiving end.

lol- now that is funny! Doyle is dead but you're feeling sorry for Paris! Yeah, maybe Doyle like Asher would finally get a needed rest. And they could compare notes in the after-life. But don't worry about Paris. She's tough but loyal and good-looking. She'll lasso another guy soon enough & whip him into shape, kuh-ching!!

Oh, they definitely mentioned that!!!  When Rory is on the verge of inquiring if Asher died in bed, Paris says "No, Rory, this great man was not brought down by my vagina." or something to that effect.  She then went on to say that he died while teaching -- A Midsummer Night's Dream I believe.  Afterwards, Marty is bummed because he lost the pool going about whether or not Asher would die in bed with Paris.   Wink
