I watch a lot of crime drama-y shows, and those really haven't changed.  Law and Order may have new people and crimes, but it's really the same idea as it was way back when.  (Which wasn't that long ago, but for TV it is)

As far as most TV goes, yeah, it's horrible.  I watch a lot on DVD/reruns if I need something to watch that doesn't have to do with murder.

"Law & Order" is a show i watch in re-runs as well as the new episodes. The show has been on for about 15 years and the quality is amazingly consistent all the way through. But i only like the original L&O, not the spin-offs such as SVU. Those get too lurid for my tastes.

I personally prefer watching re-runs of "Friends" and "The Simpsons" instead of current shows.

I really miss good TV shows...like Gilmore Girls. It doesn't seem that there's many good shows with good storylines coming about.

I have to agree. I have been looking for a good tv show to watch but with no use. What happened to the good old days when finding shows to watch was no problem at all.
I wonder that...or at least what happened to the good ol' days of just a few good shows?! Tongue

I'm still waiting for a good drama to come about. I have been watching Dexter, that show that used to be on Showtime but then moved to the network station. I've only seen it on DVD but thought it was quite...interesting. I do keep up with Samantha Who but though it's a good show, it's not like the really good ones! I miss growing up with the great shows we had! And even the not so good shows were still pretty good compared to the ones we have to choose from now! Wink

"Law & Order" is a show i watch in re-runs as well as the new episodes. The show has been on for about 15 years and the quality is amazingly consistent all the way through. But i only like the original L&O, not the spin-offs such as SVU. Those get too lurid for my tastes.

I love re-runs...it's what I live on when I get the chance to watch TV now. I love re-runs of shows like The Cosby show, sometimes Cheers, and I love Mash for some reason! ha! I think I've seen every Law & Order now, but I love the show! I want the DVD box sets, so that's what I'm trying to collect now that I have all my GG sets.

I have been trying to get into NCIS and Criminal Minds...but they're all the same it seems. After CSI and that big craze, it seemed all the shows wanted to be CSI or a type of that show. Oh well...I guess there's one solution, just stop watching TV!! Tongue

*Hey Jim...good to see you! Been thinkin' about ya and hoping you're doing well!

I have to say that I'm a fan of re-runs as well (Full House, Seinfeld, Simpsons). It seems that since they flood the air-waves with tons and tons of reality tv, I've become an avid watcher. So You Think You Can Dance?, American Idol, Hell's Kitchen, Rock of Love (both seasons), Flavor of Love (all)....all of them. I think watching tv like that makes me glad that my life is normal Smiley Reality check in a whole new way! Its hard for me to get into regular shows since the GG but oh! LOST!!! I LOVE LOST!!! Smitten Did anyone see last nights season finale?! Ack!!! (sorry)

I've actually wanted to look into what OTH was all about because I've never seen it. Can anyone give me some opinions about it?

I also love Full House. It brings so many memories from the past. Such a great show!

I have to say, i hated One Tree Hill. I though it was so silly and boring and wasn't worth wasting time for it.

oh, re-runs. best things ever. period. if i wake up early enough i can usually catch saved by the bell or that 70's show

as for OTH, it is a very...intense show. i'm an occasional watcher, i think it's good enough.

I watched Lost.
Wow.
I think Charlotte is Ben's daughter,
I think thatJack getting together with Kate in the flashforwards is part of his plan to get her back to the island, with Aaron,
I think that Jin is still alive,
And I think that Jacob plays a very big role in whats happening.

Lost was mind blowing!!!   What a brilliant episode.  That finale had an awful lot to live up to with the fantastic finale from last season and then the following exceptional Season 4, and boy they didn't disappoint!!

Just one thing ...  8 months!!!!???!!!!  January will not come fast enough, that is for sure.

Amber and Olivia are going to kill you in your sleep, lol  Grin

My favorite re-runs would have to be Friends. I can just watch that show a million times over. Not that I have. But I probably could. Because it's just brilliant.

I find Full House incredibly idiotic and still I just love watching it. Isn't that weird...I'm like the worst fan ever  Grin

Yeah, i know a lot of people want to kill me for what i said about OTH, including my own sister! Roll Eyes But it doesn't change my mind. I heard a lot of good things about the show which made me want to watch it in the first place. And i did watch 4 episodes just to give it the benefit of the doubt but it wasn't worth it in my opinion.

Talking about Full House, i kind of understand what you're saying. There is nothing special about the story and even the actors aren't doing that great of a  job. You can catch them in more than one episode where they can't keep a straight face and just cracking up even though they shouldn't be laughing at that scene. But still, you can feel something special about the show. There is so much warmth that you almost can believe they are a real family. I sometimes think of it as a guide to parenthood. Plus, it was great to see them grow together emotionally and physically.

About Friends, i agree. It's great that they still show re-runs. The final episode was on TV. the other day and i couldn't stop laughing when Ross was hearing Rachel's message and just yelling at the phone so hard.

About FH, exactly! There are some sad scenes that I just start laughing at, and at times it just seems like a manual on for parents and raising a family, but they're all just so lovable. And I have a thing for watching 90s sitcom kids growing up and those Olsen twins are annoyingly adorable  Grin

Hahaha, that was such an awesome series finale...I was watching the episode where Rachel has to use eye-drops but won't the other day and my mom couldn't stop laughing. She loves that episode because I'm the same, lol, sure I can put contacts in my eyes every day but I can't keep them open long enough to use eye drops, lol.

Ditto.  Gilmore Girls for dramedy and Friends for comedy are by far the best shows to watch re-runs of.  In fact I was just watching Friends on Foxtel earlier today and one of my fave episodes was on.  I think it's called The One Where Chandler is Afraid of the Dog and Joey names 56 states in America. Cheesy  And he also comes out with my fave Joey comment ever!!!!  "It's a moo point.  You know, a cow's opinion.  It doesn't matter.  It's MOO!!"  LMAO Too funny.

Ha, i remember that Joey line about "moo." Classic! They show back-to-back episodes all week here, but each is from a different season. Lately we are getting season 1 alongside a later season (not sure which). One thing that always jumps out, Monica was more of a selfish control freak in the later seasons, although in a funny and likeable way (if that is possible).  Also, Courtney Cox was super hot in the early seasons but much less so later on.

I'm not sure about a "Friends" reunion. These things tend to be disappointing, although the idea is tempting and of course i'd watch it.
