Dean Forester Unappreciation

Dean was never a guy with depth! very shallow!!! he was nice in the first few seasons but he didn't hold any ... well imagination!!! and then when he turned into a cheating rat.. well that summed it up!
if he loved rory why in the world would he marry someone else. he has less morals than brains if thats possible!
not to rag on him too much but i don't like him!!!

Absolutely!!  He's just so utterly boring.  It's like he was born without a brain because he sure doesn't use it!

I think he's boring too. I mean he was sort of ok in the first season, even though I probably perfered Tristan and that point, and once Jess was in the picture though....Dean was out completley. I mean Dean is just so possesive and he's just too perfect, boys that perfect don't exist,it's just annoying. Jess however is perfect because he has flaws.

I liked tristan but he was sort of a jerk to rory, dean reminded me him in that way . otherwise tristian was good.

I have to say why are there so many negative threads on this forum? I thought this was meant to be a "fan site".  It just seems a bit harsh I think "Hate" is too stronger word for it. I don't hate dean!! I don't really like any of the guys Rory has dated.  Please don't snark me just for my opion.

I sort of agree with you, I mean we should have some basic respect for the actors who put a lot time and energy into their roles. I don't hate Dean either but I certainly don't like him and Logan and I we have a bit of a love hate thing going, it changes from day to day. Clearly I like Jess better but I mean he has his moments too.

I agree.  The word hate is a bit strong.  Can anyone come up with better thread titles for both this thread and the Logan 'haters' one?  Perhaps ... "Dean Dislikers" or something of that sort?  I don't mind if people want to share their opinions for a character, even if they are negative, but we can still do it in a more civilized manner.

Dean dislikers would work I think.  Also the same for the logan thread.  I am glad to here you agree Heidi.  People should have opinions but try not to be disrespectful of the actors.  So do you think we can get those names of the threads changed?

I think in defense of Jared, Dean isn't a terrible character.  He just played that high school boyfriend who got jealous of everything and wanted to keep ahold of his girl no matter what.  I think Jared nailed it.  I mean, Dean was OK, but he turned out to be a high school boyfriend more than a lifetime partner.  He was stifling Rory, and would've if they married out of high school.

I agree, he's a pretty good actor and I think Dean would be a tough role to play especially because he was on so long and changed so much throughout the what five seasons he played Dean.

I don't really like Jarad or Dean.  He never came off as a like great person to me.  I guess I tend to like the characters that if they were in my life i would probably like, and dean just isn't my type, he's too...uh...giving.  He doesn't really have his own personality.

Oh he's not my type either by far, he does sort of lack some depth but at the same time he sort of is deep in his own way, if that makes any sense, I just kind of wonder what drove him into sleeping with Rory, What drove him to get marrried if he still loved Rory?
