Edward Hermann to join Grey’s Anatomy

Television’s favorite grandfather, Edward Hermann from "Gilmore Girls", will be joining the doctors of "Grey’s Anatomy" for a guest arc in the upcoming season.
Edward Hermann will appear in at least three episodes of "Grey’s Anatomy". Edward will play a doctor, but the details of his character are being kept quiet.

I just want to say Happy Birthday to Edward Herrmann who turns 65 today.  He also shares a birthday with Robin Williams and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

I liked Herrmann's work on the History Channel.  Plus, he ruled in The Lost Boys.  Him shaking his booty and wearing modern clothes in Overboard is hilarious.

I feel like whenever he's on the show as Richard Gilmore.  There's a sense of prestige and history in him.  He's one of my favorite characters.  He's a bit looser, more engaging, and certainly more likeable than Emily most of the time.  Plus, he can really act.  The moment I felt very sad for him was when Rory turned 21 and he's all alone in his study because he believed he failed his granddaughter and Lorelai was there to comfort him.
