Well, Luke/Lorelai have a baby discussion... so why can't Logan and Rory?
I think it would be cute if they had a girll... named it Lorleai.. nickname, Lori. =] That would be SO cute, wouldn't it?

Cause we made that LL thread cause ASP had been hinting about a kid from the first season on up....they haven't about L/R. She's a young adult....no where near ready to be a mom...they aren't married nor thinking about it. I doubt they will. Sorry but that's my take on the matter...no babies.

Regardless of the background for the thread, it's still a legitimate topic, especially as there have been implications for a possible pregnancy for Rory since season 1 (when she didn't come home after her dance and Emily worried she'd repeat Lorelai's mistakes and so on). Life is often considered a cyclical process, and there's a lot of sayings like "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Mistakes happen and babies are born, as Lorelai's proof of. In addition, I don't think Lane is really ready for a baby, but that's not really up to her now, is it?

Personally, I hope Rory doesn't get knocked up unless the show goes on for at least a couple more seasons... and then maaaaybe at the end. I don't see her at a point right now where she could handle a baby.

I don't see them making Rory pregnant, because I think they'd want to avoid the whole apple doesn't fall far from the tree thing.  I don't think they want to perpetrate the idea that anyone is doomed to the mistakes of their parents and can't learn from them.  (Just want to stress what the show has always done that it was getting pregnant that was the mistake, not Rory herself).  It would be pointless to have Rory become pregnant because of something out of her control -condom breaking or her dilligently using birth control, only it happens to be the 1% of the time that it isn't effective.  You can't just have Rory pregnant to have her pregnant, there has to be a story in it, and they've already done the condom thing with Lane and there wouldn't be a significant enough variation in that kind of story to make it worth doing for Rory.  And, no way would Rory, in character, not use protection, so she wouldn't get pregnant because she was careless.  I honestly don't see any babies in Rory's future until after she goes across that stage in that gown and gets that diploma.  And, even then, I don't expect to see Rory pregnant on the show.  It'll be one of those things people can just assume happens sometime in the future.

ok sorry my first reaction to this thread was just cos i was taken completly by suprise the idea of them having a baby had never crossed my mind!
i don't think rory is gonna get pregnant anytime soon and i certainly hope not with logan cos there's no way he could handle having a child let alone rory could handle it!
plus i think cos rory didn't have a very present dad in her childhood she would want her kid to have a really involved dad so she wouldn't have a kid until she was married i think. and i'm not saying she marries logan no way!!!!
i see the point with the apple thing and i totally agree cos although rory has made some bad decisions lately i think she's still smart and isn't going to be careless.

I would be thrilled to see Rory and Logan have twins. Just think how funny it would be. You would have one of them who was brilliant and headstrong while the other would be more carefree and love books. I dont think it will happen but it would be terrribly cute. Plus just think of the reactions of everyone in thier lives. It would make a great plot for episodes maybe a couple years down the road.

Age has very little to do with being ready to have a baby.  I don't think Rory is mature enough to take care of a child, and I hope she's too mature to think that she can have one and leave the majority of raising to Lorelai or someone.

I don't see any problems with Rory getting pregnant. She's already in her senior year at Yale, and Lorelai must have had a job the whole time Rory was growing up. One of the major points of the show is that having a child doesn't wreck up an unmarried woman's life the way it used to. The 'out of wedlock' thing is pretty intimidating, but I dare say that Rory discovering that contraceptives are not 100% effective would not constitute reliving her mother's mistakes. Unless she refuses to marry Logan over some class warfare issue, anyway.

I don't think Rory would consider her first life goal finished (and I also think one of the themes of the show says it to) until she has the diploma in her hands.  And, I don't think Rory would choose to have a child until that happened.

Also, having a job isn't the only aspect of maturity.  Now, sometimes, as with Lorelai you don't have the option of becoming mature enough to be a parent first, it happens and you just have to deal with it and mature while you're a parent.  However, I think ideally, it's best not to grow up simultaneously with being a parent.  I just feel that as people, both Rory and Logan have more growing to do and as a couple, and that should happen before any babies.

To me, it would take equipment malfunction for Rory to get pregnant.  I don't think she would decide to try for a baby until after she's finished (and it ain't finished until she's wearing that cap and gown) college.  But, they've already done the "cheap Mexican condoms" story with Lane, so I don't see them repeateding that with Rory.  And, of course, I don't mean literally only cheap condoms.  I mean anything from a birth control pill coming up on that 1% that doesn't work, or any other aspect where a person does everything to prevent pregnancy and it still happens.  I don't see that story being told again.

I also don't see Rory wanting a child at this point.
