Hi new here...

Tonight's episode was much improved.  But I have a question.  Who was the "new" Zach?  I'm not so sure I liked him.

For the most part, I liked it a lot more than last week's episode. Well, at least the second half. I didn't like the first part with Luke/Kirk and some of those scenes. But I really appreciated Rory's anger at Lorelai. She pretty much said what I had been thinking about how you react to heartbreak. I also felt that the dialogue was more up to par this week, especially with the Rory/Lane celebrity baby conversation and the scene with Luke, Liz, and TJ. I actually laughed a couple times (for "We've got Jello cups!" "Score!" and TJ's confusing Speed with the Lake House), which is more than last week.

However, I am officially confused by the L/L situation. Liz made some good points in terms of how they were out of sync, but I can't believe Luke bought into that so easily. Two days ago (in Gilmore world), he was insisting how much he loved Lorelai. And now he's so sure that they were never meant to be together? What about "I'm all in?" What about his self-help book realization that she was his soul mate? It kind of seems to me that someone, whether David Rosenthal or the other writers or someone else, is trying to wipe out their past in order to steer the plot their own way.

But overall, it was an improvement. I didn't feel quite so bored this week.

i think luke is just hiding his feelings, i think he is just super confused

I loved the scenes with Luke and Kirk in the beginning.  Kirk was so funny with the baseball hat, the shirt, the scruffy face, and the no cell phone signs, and the attitude to boot! LMAO!  Cheesy

Even though I'm bummed about Luke and Lorelai splitting up, I think the episodes so far this year are much better than season six. I think Rory has been doing a fantastic job this season too. She does seem to be like more of the adult here.  She seems so much more mature and real than she has before.  I really liked the correlation between Lane's conversation about being a mother and making mistakes, and Rory realizing that mothers are not perfect, they are human. I do think her initial reaction was right on though.  I think she had a right to be upset, but it was nice that she realized that Lorelai just made a mistake.

I think Luke is just trying to cover up that he is really hurting by trying to convince himself they weren't meant to be together, and this is not bothering him.  When he told Lorelai that, I think he just devastated her.  She seemed to perk up at first when he said he could get over what happened when they were in the supermarket.  I think she got the wrong idea at first thinking he meant he could forgive her and get past it to work things out.  I felt so bad for her when he was telling her that he realized she was meant to be with someone else like Christopher.  I think she was hoping he would make more of an effort for her.  Cry

By the way, did anyone wonder why Luke looked at the jello the way he did at Liz and TJ's?  It was almost like it reminded him of something??  Maybe I'm imagining things??? Huh

AMEN!
HE has seen Lor and Christophers relantionship for years! and hes also gotten a bunch of crap from emily. hes had alot of confrontation with chris, and has always been very jealous of him.  i think he is trying to find some sort of excuse for things, because he believes they wont get back to gether. (i pray they will!)

DR, "I'm in, I'm all in." you sold me tonight buddy. i loved the episode. i thought the dialogue was there, the  references were there, Lor and Rory hanging out, watching movies, and eating junk food. I laughed, i cried, my stomach was in my throat half the night, and my heart was pounding just waiting for the next scene...wow...great episode...

some high points:
*even though i'm mad at Luke, I'm glad i finally got to see him punch Chris
*i thought the first meeting of L and L in the street was done really well. I liked the camera angle and the way it came in. of course Luke was an ass but that was to be expected. expanding on that subject for a second, Luke will not/was not/ is not over Lor at all. He could barely tell TJ about their separation. and then when he was at dinner with them, it was so obvious by the longing look on his face that he was so not ok with it.
*one word: "Kirk's"  Cheesy haha
*the Asian theme house was very cute and yay for Lor and Rory having some time together like back in old days
*good for Rory for getting onto Lor about sleeping with Chris
* and alas the super market scene....gut wrenching, heartbreaking, painful, BUT i still loved it. yeah in back of my mind i was thinking "just go kiss her Luke" but we all know its way too soon and i think it played out great. you could tell that both of them were hurting over the breakup and that niether was over it.

Lauren Graham continues to amaze me. she is incredible and flourishing right now. i know its not time for these right now but:
SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE THIS GIRL AN EMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think I like Lane being pg, i feel like she should still be Rory's sidekick and drumming for the band not having a kid, but eh...what do ya do?

Overall, I cannot express it enough how much i loved this episode. DR, i have all the faith in the world in him now. i believe he is going to take us for some great rides this season!

well luke acted differently it is probably the directors way of saying that
lukes like is pretty much hell without lorelai
like he cant really function normally without her
becasue that was so not luke
and yea i think hes just using deanial as a coping strategy
and ego has a part too
and a combination of that caused him to say what he did

but i am kind of glad, because lor needed to hear it

Yikes!
That episode was so not Gilmore! The last scene (in the supermarket) was possibly the worst scene in the whole show, in all sences: acting, emotion, etc., etc. The whole episode seemed so forced and nobody acted like themselves. I am very dissappointed and if it doesnt start getting better, i may not be able to keep watching.  Cry  Angry  Tongue  Undecided

Absolutely heartwrenching. I can't put into words what I am feeling right now.

Liz and TJ were so supportive. And Luke didn't want it. Jerk.

I am glad that Luke apologized to Lorelai. Now it won't be so bad.  Smiley

Lane is preggers!!!! Yay, just imagine Lane and Zach as parents. I'm glad that the kid won't be illegitimate.

Oh dear... where to begin?  So far I'm quite disappointed in what I've seen.  The dialogue is all wrong, the camera angles are wrong and the witty banter just isn't there. Cry  I don't want to give up on my girls, but if things continue this way, I might.  And that makes me sad... very sad.  Everything that made me fall for this show is slowly disappearing.  Granted it's only the second episode, but no other season has had a begining so dull.  Maybe Dean should take a break from chasing ghosts and make a cameo!  Yeah, that might shake things up a bit.... doesn't mean it'll save the show, but he is just soooo man-pretty!!  Mmm... Dean.... Kiss

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU! Lorelai went insane! She has a friend named Sookie who could help her, DUH!

Seriously, WHAT HAPPENED TO PAUL ANKA?[/color]

I agree. The camera angling was HORRIBLE! Especially at the dinner table at Liz's! You couldn't even see Liz' face! The witty was gone, too. I want ASP back! Although season 6 was horrible, I still loved the comebacks!  Cry I agree with everything except the Dean thing, lol.

Trust me, I'm really nice but... I disagree with you. Yes, he's been waiting for a long time but what about Luke! Chris knew Lorelai was sad when she knocked on his door but he just let her have sex with him for selfish reasons... cause he wanted her! Lorelai was depressed and he knew that she would regret it later. I'm sorry, but Chris made a huge mistake.
