I'd love to use Firefox...if I didn't have to move all my mail folders.  It's sad to think I'm being held hostage by saved e-mails and e-mail addresses I don't want to lose.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that there's an import feature that you could use.

Okay this is weird! First time I thought I was sleepy or something but now it happens again and it's afternoon here so now I think this might be an error. I was online and went offline to do something else. Now I come back to the site (still OFFLINE) and the board said I was still online, so to actually get me offline I have to go online again to again sign me off. Is it cause I used the option to be online for a couple of minutes and then the board will sign you off automaticly? Weird cause eventho the board thinks I'm online I can't post anything...so I AM OFFLINE. That would explain why the board thinks I was online so much. WEIRD!

White Onyx, I appreciate the fact that you're posting about a possible bug ... but I don't understand your problem 100%.  Would you mind explaining it once more for those us with wee brains?  Thanks!  Wink

I don't understand the problem 100% either, but I think I understand what you meant. Did you mean that at the top it said you were still signed in when really you weren't? IIRC, it has something to do with your browser(do you use Firefox?). I myself, and a few others experienced this before on another SMF forum I visit. We've been using it for half a year now, so I am quite experienced with this forum. If anyone has any questions I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability.

By the way, I was just wondering if the reason the forums were down for so long was because we were looking for a secure forum?

Pretty much.  I was mostly just unwilling to use phpBB again.

The problem was when you go offline your name disappears from all the names below....BUT then I came back and my name was there again. At first I thought I was still loged in, but I couldn't post anything. It was like there was another me still online....but there wasn't. So the site thought I was still there, but I couldn't get access to the site. So I had to log in again to log out again...so that my name disappears from down below.

I don't know if you mean this, but the forum shows the users online in the past 16 minutes, so when you come back within those 16 minutes, you probably see that you're still online, though you're logged out.

It might be it, but I just noticed that the ORG can no longer be seen as a guess so I wouldn't know if it still does it or not cause I have to be loged in to see it.

Well, I'm still a little confused as to exactly what happens, but it's not really a problem is it? You have to sign in and then out to correctly be registered as offline, but that doesn't hinder your forum viewing, if I'm understanding this correctly. I know it might confuse you when it has you think that you are signed it when you are not, but you just have to sign it again, right?

Pretty much.  I was mostly just unwilling to use phpBB again.

Oh... I didn't know you were looking for a forum. I had a feeling that I should have e-mailed you suggesting this forum, but I never got around to it(Darn). However, I think I suggested it once before back when the forum was back up using PHPBB, but that was for a week and all the posts were wiped.

Here's a weird thing that's been happening of late...

When I get notices in my e-mails that there's a new response to a topic I'm watching, I'll click on the link and it will say " The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."  These are topics I go to every day.  I tried to log out and log back in, but it didn't change it.

Is there a chance that when topics get merged into main threads that the link that's being sent to you in your e-mail to let you know there are new responses is from the old topic it was merged from?  I can access all these threads by going there directly, it just seems to be the provided links in e-mail that are causing the problems.

I had the same thing five to seven times this week. It's odd.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that there's an import feature that you could use.

When I switch to Firefox, it imported everything from IE, Opera and Netscape except for my saved passwords and auto-info. (Things that deal with cookies specific to the browser.)

I'll look into this and see what I can find. Smiley

Couldn't you just use Firefox for browsing and Netscape or whatever for mail? *shrug*

What browser is Janich O using?  If it's different than Netscape, it probably won't solve the problem.
