I think GG is a good show to start watching as a tween. The show does not have any younger characters that would appeal to younger children. But, I also agree with the idea that a child should be judged by their mental stage. Some 9 or 10 year olds might be ready for the show. GG offers alot of real life situations that teens can relate to, which is why I think tweens are about the right age group. It may prepare them for some things they might be facing soon.

i started watching when i was 12, but i don't think that kids under 8 should watch it. they need to be outside, not watching the tube. i also don't think that they should understand some of the humor. i mean, i still have to explain things to my grandma, so some of it might be a little to... like when lor and luke have sex. yah, i don't want any of my younger friends watching that.

I started watching it gee like when i was 20.
I have a tween (god i hate that name) shes 9 and another whos 7 on sat. They dont watch the show and i wont let them. As far as i go they are meant to be kids not teens. When they hit their teen yrs then they can watch GG. Until then nick, nick jr or disney is all they watch in my house.

I think you should be 13 or 14 when you start watching GIlmore Girls. Any younger and you won't understand it and you don't need to be learning about all the stuff they talk about the inapprorite stuff
but that is just my veiw of that

I think around 9 or 10 because if your younger than that many kids will not be able to understand it.

I have a tween (god i hate that name)... OH MY ME TOO!!! Thank you I was beginning to think I was the only person on the planet who thought that sounded annoying!!! Not much else to say, just couldn't hold back my excitement about someone who hated that word as much as I do.

I think you should honestly be a teen before you start watching the show. I am 14 and i still do not get all of the references and jokes.

I agree tween is perfect. Im 13 and i am obsessed with the show. It's not hard to understand at all for me. I think 11-and up is good. 8 i think is definately too young. nine for some of the episodes.

I agree, most younger viewers probably won't understand the amazing amount of big words they use sometimes I feel I should be watching the show with a dictionary on my lap and i'm almost 20.

I think you should be at least 12 or 13 years old to watch Gilmore Girls to understand it.
