Yep, that is the one that I found. I posted in it, but no one seemed interested. Oh well! At least I found some fellow readers.

So, don't mean to be a pest, but an unpopular opinions thread -yes, no?  If yes, where?  General Discussion, Fun and Games?  If no, well, no more needs to be added to that answer.  (Or, do we have one that I forgot? Embarrassed)

Okay, from what I gathered from your last post about this, the Unpopular Opinions thread would be strictly stating your unpopular opinion, and no debate/discussion afterward? If that's the case, then it would belong under Fun and Games. Or would it be a place for the members who share these unpopular opinions to discuss them amongst themselves, without having to deal with a billion "You're so wrong, you suck!" comments? If that's the case then I think it would belong under General Discussion. That could be interesting. So, I vote: Sure, Why Not?

Well, I figured it might spark a few "Wow, you think that way, too?"  Does that count as discussion?  I'm guessing anything too involved (like posts of my typical length) might invite disagreement.  But, yeah, the basic idea is a place to air out any opinion not shared by the majority without having to defend it.

eta:  I'm going to put it in Fun and Games, because the less discussion the better for the spirit of the thing.  And, we'll just see if it works out.

There have been questions on this thread regarding making this open for discussion.  Since the original thread was opened with the intent of little to no discussion would it be alright to start one just for discussion of the unpopular opinions?  Similar to the Spoilers thread where there's one just to post spoilers and one to discuss them?  I didn't want to start a new one without asking and I'm relatively new here so I don't even know if I can start one...

Dani actually encouraged someone to open an Unpopular Opinions discussion thread, so go ahead Smiley. Though there is a possibility that a moderator will merge the threads, but you never know. They may leave them both open independantly.

From the Unpopular Opinions thread:
If someone wants to start a thread specifically for debate, I'm fine with that.  And, if the mods say it's an unnecessary thread (like why not just debate in the original thread), then, I suppose people can debate to their hearts' content here, if they really want to.  But, please (clasps hands together, bats eyelashes, and offers up chocolate and your favorite ships living happily ever after) could the debates in this thread stop as long as there is another debate thread?  So, someone else (other than me) please start one as soon as you can.  And, again, if it gets closed, people can debate all they want here.

Probably a bad idea, but a search thread? There are so many boards on the site and it would probably prevent making useless boards if we had a discussion for it.
For example, I've been looking for the Sam Phillips Appreciation Thread since I joined the site late October.

We already have a search option on the top of the screen. Unfortunately not many people use it.

This might be totally bad, but there were some of us on the Java Junkies thread that were wondering if we could make a Java Junkies vs Balcony Buddies debate topic, where the Java Junkies and the Balcony Buddies could come hash out who we thinks better.  I've seen this done on facebook and some of the debates get really heated, but they're really fun to read too.  It's just an idea, and it's totally fine if the answer is no, but some of us were just curious...

Maybe an idea...
You know how we have episode discussion threads? Well in the season board, can we have Season Discussions? Like in the Season 3 discussion, there would be an 'Official Season 3 Discussion'. That way, you can post your overall opinion about the season instead of going on each board. That way you don't get people on the 'Keg! Max!' discussion saying "This was one of the many dissapointing episodes of Season 3. It wasn't as bad as 'Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days' but I think that it could have used more secondary character plotlines." We have an assorted Season 7 discussion, and I think it would be a good idea (I guess) to be able to talk about everything that occured over the season instead of just what happened in a certain episode.

Okay so, I was wondering if there was a thread for writers to post their stuff. I know there is one for photographers to chat (or whatever else they do), but is there one for writers? If this is a bad idea, please let me know!

Not that I know of...
That would be totally cool, though! You should start it, if we don't already have one.
