Hello to all the Middies!

I haven't posted in here in quite some time...I was a pretty regular poster for a short time, but then life...yeah, that thing that just gets in the way sometimes...haha! I hope that everyone 19-30 years is doing wonderful!! It's pretty scary that in 3 years I won't be able to be counted as a 'Middy' any longer! I turn 28 this year...actually next month already! I can't believe it!  Shocked NO THANKS! haha But, I keep trying to remember that lovely phrase that so many people keep telling me, 'you're only as old as you are in your heart' or something like that! I'll see when I've been living on this earth 30 + years! haha I'm sure it will be just fine! Smiley Sorry for that small rant! It's pretty sunny out here now actually, the snow makes everything so bright and nice now! I don't know about the driving conditions because I haven't been able to go out yet...but I'm sure it's fine. I totally agree, the weather can make or break people's moods and motivation! I love the sun, even if it's cold out but sunny, that's awesome!! Hope it's sunny where ever you are today! Keep on smiling!!  Grin And have a fantastic week!  Star Hearts

Well Hello :p

Wow, you spend a few mins away from the site and it suddenly heats up like wild fire! Not heats up like 'dirty' as Janich would say!

Yeah I had a pretty hectic weekend, went on a search for shoes at the local shopping centre and it wasn't too succesful, so it ended up being a 2day and 4shopping centres later shoe shopping event! Then saturday night was spent chilling with a friend till like 2:30 in the morn! So that was fun, but killed my sunday!

Heh! Good times! So wotz news?!

What kind of shoes then? Ballerina pumps? Stiletto heels? Doc Martens? Slippers with woolly tassels? Vans? Shiny black go with a suit shoes?

I need some black boots for work but can't find any that fit right - i have small feel and not-small calves so getting them to zip up is a pain - girls, am i alone with this can't zip them up problem?

My weekend was dull dull dull. Set up a Tesco online shopping account and read one of my workbooks for this weekend's class. I have to write a case study on opening the maternity wing of a hospital

Hey Gilmoreren & Sooks Grin

Yeah I was attempting to find a 'fashionable' and 'usable' pair of indoor volleyball / running shoes! What a mission that has been, my word! Anyway! I finally found some and now I am a very happy chappy, coz they also didn't break the bank to buy! Roll Eyes

Have you guys heard of the Comrades Marathon? Its a 90km running race, that happens here in SA, and is pretty big! People from around the world come to run it, coz its the longest marathon in the world? I stand corrected, I think! But yeah, lately I have been thinking I will try running that in 2008 and 09, so who knows! We shall see how the training goes!

Well, hope you all have a gr8 day!

Woah, good luck Byder! I have so much respect for people who run marathons! I used to run, but I never really liked it, it's so intense!!!

I'm not sure if it helps, but when I got a pair of high boots that wouldn't zip past the calf, I sewed a brightly colored handkerchief into the gap and put in a strap with a buckle at thigh-level. It's kind of like the old zipper bell-bottoms, only upside-down.

I have the same problem!  Its very frustrating.  I have muscular calves so the ones that I can zip up, the foot part of the boot is too big and if the foot fits, I can only zip it up half way.  The best pair I tried I got it all the way zipped but my calves were squeezed so tight that they were like sausages.  I get laced up boots from now on but its a pain to tie the lace up every friggin time I wear them.   Angry

haha! What a classy idea! Nice one lessa :p That must be a major issue! hehe

Yeah, running the comrades marathon, is big! Very Big! Would be very exciting to finish it, something you can say you have actually done. hehe! They say once you've run it, the big has bitten you and then you'll always come back. Hmmmm.... I wonder!!!!

Well better get some work done here :p

I have been on a black zip up boot mission for years and can never seem to find ones that look cute. Ah how well I wear flip flops most of the time anyway.

Byder: Do the marathon you won't regret it though your body might.

Hopefully I'll get some from qube that seem to do the not-skinny-calf boots.

hey Gilmoreren, I don't think I have qube here.  Is it a store?

Updated:

I looked up Qube and its apparently a landmark building here in Vancouver and I didn't even know it!  I'm sure that's not the Qube you're talking about. The other Qube, not square footwear seems pretty cool.  We don't have that here tho. *blah*

I hope you found your boots!
