I'm in the same "i love this episode" boat as many of you...

Even though Emily was pretty irrational most of the time - she definately loved her daughter. And I take that from the flashback scene where Strobe, Francie, Emily & Richard are trying to figure out "what to do with it" - and Strobe was implying an abortion. Emily really stood up for her daughter when she stopped him saying "choose your words very carefully Strobe."

it's almost like we're SO used to being put down or hidden from the world from our parents that when they actually show GENUIEN LOVE, it can really take you by surprise. I may not have had a child but my parents, especially my father [bless his soul], he really came through during the most surprising moments for me...

I don't know if I'm making sense, but I hope I am. It's definately a key favorite for me.

I loved this episode. They should show more flashbacks. But the actors who play the young Lorelai and Christopher really werent very good actors.Young Christopher looked nothing like Christopher. I love the flashbacks though.
i think they should have had a whole episode that is flashbacks

I wish they would have shown flashbacks of when Loralei and Rory first came to starshollow and met everyone especially Luke.

However, she didn't want her daughter to have to grow up with Emily and richard and endure everthing that gave her a need to run in the first place.
well said2!!!

This is one of my favorite episodes ever. I love the flashbacks, and the actors they picked to portray young christopher and lorelai. I do have a question if anyone could please answer it: In the flashback scene of when loralei is sitting in the hospital chair filling out paperwork and she then pick ups her casset player and a song pops on, could anyone tell me the title of that song?!!

I absolutely love this episode.  I think the flashbacks are so cool.  I wish they had them in more episodes.  Not all the time, but occasionally would be nice.

By the way Cinderella1329, the song Lorelai is listening to is "99 Luftballoons" by Nena.

I really didn't think young christopher and Loralei looked anything like the older ones do, but I loved the concept of the flash backs!

I really liked this episode when it showed Lorelai as a little girl going through her pregnancy with Rory. Does anyone know what episode and season that was? If you could let me know, that would be great. Grin

Hi

This Episode is 'Dear Emily and Richard' in Season 3. I suggest that you look at the Seasons Threads back on the main page, there is a thread dedicated to the episode.
You should also drop by the Community Center Threads that will give you an idea of what is 'ok' on the forums and what is frowned upon. For example, being that 'Dear Emily and Richard' has its own forum, this thread will be closed by the moderators (basically because its a duplication)
My suggestion would be to just have a bit of a look around and see how things go before opening new threads. Everyone here is really nice and we will do what we can to help you through, feel free to PM with questions.

Cheers

I love all the flash backs from when Lorelai was young. Its so sad when shes sitting in the hospital all by herself and then her parents come and act like jackasses. HELLO shes in labor.

I love flashback episodes. You always wonder how the characters got to where they are now. Young Lorelai is just as I imagined her to be personality wise. Young Chris is a little whimp. Sherri was funny is this episode with the Howard Stern thing and working while she's in labor. I love the whole scene when they're looking at all the newborns and there's that "she's perfect" dialogue.
