Summary: Mother and daughter both wrestle with romance when Rory (Alexis Bledel) finds herself painfully flustered every time she is around Dean (Jared Padalecki), while Lorelai (Lauren Graham) agrees to have dinner with Rory's teacher Max Medina (Scott Cohen) even though she is consumed with worry over Rory's reaction. As fate would have it, Lorelai ends up having to cancel the date to attend the funeral of Cinnamon, the enormous and beloved cat of neighbors Babbette (Sally Struthers) and Morey (Ted Rooney).

I loved Babette and Morey's house! Almost like a dollhouse or something! It was sweet how Morey said "I'll never eat clams again" and Rory goes "Me neither."

I love Emily's reaction to Lorelai telling her she was at a cat's funeral. Emily asks her if she'll be at Friday dinner "or are you going to a racoon's wedding?" hehehehe

I thought it was so funny, Max's reaction to the fact that Lorelai was canceling thier date because a cat died. Also, the fact that because Lorelai haden't told Rory about Max it caused a semi fight. But the last part were Dean finds Rory in the yard and she tells him that she is intersted. Another claissic from this episode is the part with Sookie and luke and the food and the set up and just everything about the food.

Yes, I just watched this one last night..And I had forgotten how funny Luke and Sookie were with their differing food ideas. It is so easy to forget stuff on the first season!

i like how rory makes a fool out of herself in front of dean in the store, on the bus, and at the wake when he delivers the soda, but i also like when he says he isnt going to bother he any more and he has a frown but then he smiles cuz she says she likes him

And now(after some time) when I watch the 1 season the dialogues seem so much more natural then now.

Yeah it's an addiction. Unfortunately GG are not so popular in poland, where i live but i think it's because of the bad translation - they talk so fast it's diffcult to translate it all. In this episode i also loved when Babette was talking about her cat and Lorelai about Rory - and they kind of were talking about the same thing - verry well written.
